  • I decided what motor to get and in this video I install it to the snowblower. Nothing too overwhelmingly hard but definitely some things I had to figure out. Hope this video helps you if you have to swap an engine on a snowblower.
    Thanks for watching

I understand and sorry about that. . Thanks for the comment. If i could easily reshoot the video i would but it's not really an option. I'm not sure why that headlamp does that but the other LED flashlight doesn't. It's too bad i didnt use it in a 2 minute video first. But now i know and i wont use it when shooting a video. It's not strobing at all in real life. Just mismatched with the shutter of the camera.

That's really awesome. You're welcome. Thank you for the comments. I'm really glad i helped you out. I used mine yesterday after 6 inches fell again and it was great. All stock carb and jets etc and it worked really well . Hoping it lasts a long time for both of us.

I know you probably wouldn't need it but it would be nice if there were an electric start option for those extremely cold days. Those appear to be a good replacement engine for a snowblower.

I agree. They have a larger engine that does have it i think but that would require different pulleys and belts etc.

Thanks. That's great. I ordered a bigger jet for my carb just to see if it helps it run a little bit smoother. That cold winter air usually needs a little richer mixture so i ordered a .038. I plan to test out removal of the air filter and box top and possibly the muffler. But no worries. This motor doesn't NEED the changes. I'm just playing around with it.
Good luck with yours. Please add a comment with additional info for the next guy after you do it.

Well what a coincidence. I got a JD 826 less the engine a few weeks ago. Even had the belts. I installed a Honda clone engine in it and sold it for $250.00. It worked just fine. Had to drill a few bolt holes for the mounting base but it worked out good.

Don't forget to remove the air filter and to do the cold weather mods seen in other videos, also turning up the governor will help it work much better too.

Red isnt really that strong. There are lots stronger versions.
