212cc Predator powered mini bike motorcycle engine swap installing a stage 2 kit

- Installing a stage 2 kit in a 212cc Predator powered motorcycle. I built this a few years back, it was a really simple project and is quite fun on the trails!
Kit includes: ARC billet flywheel, billet connecting rod, big cam, 18lb valve springs, thin head gasket. I also built a custom intake and mounted a Honda XR 200 carb.
Welders used: Titatium 200, Vulcan Protig 205.

Both of these Torque converters fit 3/4" engine output shafts (predator 212cc engines have 3/4" shafts) and both kits come with the 40 pitch sprocket (this was the same size sprocket i modified to fit my chain pitch. I hope this helps you guys out.

Hi Nice video. On your argument referring to the long runners on the SHO you didn't pause to think the the SHO engine has injectors at the head not where the long runners start. The long runners were there to increase air speed. I admit that I thought the runner may be a bit long but the proof is in how it both starts and how it runs. It may be a little harder to start on really cold days. If it revs up with no bogging down then it doesn't matter the length is fine. The other benefit is it keeps the carb out of harm's way. It's both protected from sticks and rocks plus it won't drown in semi deep water. Super nice job. Thanks!

I'd like to do one of these but I won't be buying parts of GPS that's for sure. Your content is brilliant and they should have tripped over themselves to give you anything you need. There is something called the "super 30 series driver- The juggernaut" as a replacement front pulley. The other guys are all raving about it, it might help solve your issues. I think it sucks you were not offered some kind of a discount, if I am not mistaken this project had a shit-ton of views.
I have to say, the torque converter tuning is absolutely spot on for this motor spec. I don't think you could have done much better.

Love this idea. If and when you ever have engine troubles, you aren't stuck with a certain year, make, model or manufacturer of replacement parts. No rare, extinct or hard to find parts to search for due to them being discontinued. Just walk to the hardware store or order online

The supplier who will go unnamed just throws free parts at other channels who keep doing the same thing over and over. Channnels who dont go in to near as much build detail and who have never made anything nearly as cool as the articulated 4x4. My goal is to get a plasma table like yours and maybe make some videos myself. It would make my life way simpler in regards to my little homemade projects. The Sawzall, drill, file method works but can be painfully slow. Keep up with the excellent videos!
That long intake is gonna give you alot of low end torque qich is good because thats not a high revving engine
It’s the opposite buddy shorter more bottom end and longer more top end.
@@EnginesbyAustin yours is right for exhaust long tube headers are for high rpms.. Intake is the opposite

@@24BLUEELMO I have been running 125 flat head 1 cylinder 4 strokes for years at 10,000rpm my guy so I know I’m right and they are over 50years old
@@EnginesbyAustin well as cool as that is bro, it is well known that long runners generally aid in tourque, short runners are generally in top end based applications.. not saying that tables can't be turned with each setup, but it seems most agree, and plenty of info online supporting the fact that length aids in tourque. Length ads resistance to flow compared to same diameter intake but one that is shorter will flow more, top end in short requires more air/fuel, so having said that it makes much more sense that longer would better suit low to mid-range applications, and shorter for top-end.

It's more than double what those bikes came stock with. People underestimate these motors for some reason.
Man I'm really surprised how much torque that thing has really getting you around them trails pretty good I've got an old Honda 125 roller sitting in my basement that I've been wanting to do something with only it's going to cost me about little more in the grand to rebuild the motor I kind of like this idea

@Mike Haecker No need to slag off other You tubers. I love both C&C and Mike's channel, but both are quite different and have different build philosophies. A channel with nearly 1m subs is always going to get sponsored first and they can't sponsor everyone. Sometimes you are better off without it anyway.
Alan you’re right. I really do enjoy their videos as well. Their skills have improved over time. Mike just has a lot better skill set, and ability to explain things than c&c. In my opinion 👍🏻
@@Superb_Owl80 I've been subbd to c&c for a number of years now and do agree they've gotten a lot better over time. That's how fabricating stuff works, experience and trial/error. One thing I really miss about their old videos? Length. Find a recent video in thr past three years of a build that was over 13 minutes. There's not many, where in the drift trike days, they'd be 45 min build vids. Mike at least still does some longer stuff.

Agree, but is that a good match for that cam? Im guessing since he put in a forged rod that the cam rev’s higher, probably could use a shorter intake for the high rev’s.

The cam I bought was more for torque and I think only capable to about 6000 RPMs so the longer intake is a good match for it. The bike has a surprising amount of torque 👍

Definitely some cool builds that dirt bike rips hard af now! You definitely should be sponsored by that company ;-)
Make sure you don't have any grease on the drive variator or the rear driven pulley or it will act weird with revving engagement RPMs, also I probably would have put that contra spring setting in the middle and see how that works since the engine makes a lot of power now and shifting a little sooner shouldn't be much of an issue.
I hear you on the sponsorship. Friends and I have put on minibike events, flown that same vendors banner, given away a banner for that vender, promote them on our insta, fb and yt and still when I call they just laugh. Great build though. Ive been looking for a frame to do the same thing with.

What is the top speed on the bike?
After seeing your 1st video on this build I finally tracked down a 1987 yz125 as a roller. In the description your using an xr200 carb. Would you happen to know the bore size and jet? That 212 sounds strong! Any help would be greatly appreciated, keep up the great content Mike👍

Reason why I want it is it I can’t weld but have always wanted a predator dirt bike once I saw your vids. I got the stuff for it I just can’t weld so I figured I’d ask if you’d sell it. Got a motor and all for it. I would just need to buy the frame from you haha
A modified predator like this is stronger than the ghost. The ghost is just a 212 with a stage 2 kit pre installed

I have all the same stuff and updated to stainless valves and ported the head. Its been put together and been sitting since winter. I've never even started yet. I updated my mower to a cub cadet that I've fixing up but running the bike is definitely on my to do list. With the cam heavier springs billet flywheel and rod iam looking forward to winging the crap out it for sure.
Mike, don't sweat the sponsorship bs. They would want you to build a wheelbarrow with a cr450 engine in it or something stupid like that. You're too skilled for that nonsense. Every time I watch ratherbewelding, cars and cameras, or grind hard plumbing, I always think Mike would do such a better job. The fact that none of them have a CNC plasma blows my mind. They probably wouldn't be able to figure out how to use it anyway. With all the brown nosing out of the way, I must say, I am going through articulating dump truck withdrawal. You should start a Patreon for parts.

@@t1mblumer I think ratherbewelding is a good fabricator, he just doesn't think ahead or design well. Everything he builds is too wide and heavy. He's young and I'm sure he'll get a lot better. I couldn't carry any of their lunches, so let me get off my high horse. Grindhard should do something besides those stupid power wheels. That's getting so old.

i did this on an xr 200 old bmx bike fork with plate welded on top made an awsome engine bracket looks clean too
