I grew up in Burbank near Midway and the family visited the Museum of Science and Industry every year. I *ALWAYS* had to see the big train diorama. I love the many trains working at once.
I was there Saturday. It’s an awesome setup.

Is anyone aware of what company or organization built the layout at the Museum of Science and Industry? Because they did a great job
It was a Florida based company, Scenic Modelers or something close to that.
This Layout now goes from Chicago to Washington DC I saw that on Bozo's circus on WGN TV Channel 9

No, just Chicago dust. The layout is under going its annual cleaning right now.

A company is at the museum now doing a deep cleaning, if Need4Life comes back after New Years the layout will look totally different in a good way.
that’s good because this thing is crazy dusty honestly that should be done every five years or something
How many years did that take to build? Also how do you manage dust bunnies?
It took a team of 40 people 2.5 years. We clean the rails everyday but have a company that comes in once a year to do a serious deep cleaning. The company is doing that as I write this response.
The last time I was at the Museum of Science and Industry back Home in Chicago They had an O gauge layout which went from Chicago to Los Angeles that was back in the mid 60's But like them I run HO gauge Diesel Trains since I was born and raised in Chicago I wish I could get the Downtown Buildings or do the Northside that I came from including Wrigley Field Where the Cubs play They did not add 2 buildings on their Chicago since they are modeling the South side of Chicago they should have added Soldier Field where the Bears Play and either the old Commisky Park where the White Sox used to play or US Cellular Field where the White Sox now play!

They have just let it go to @#$!. It has like an half inch of dust on it . Very disappointed. Alot of the lights on it are out, never replaced its like they have done just enough to just keep the trains running and thats it
