If you're getting gloves to inflict damage (fight), go with reyes. But if you're getting gloves for training and sparring, the Hayabusas will take care of you and your opponent better. That's what it comes down to.

im 60kgs and was worried bout the knuckle and wrist protection. my knuckles r pretty strong but i wish i could say the same for my wrists
@@hahgotem9466 I would definitely not recommend those boxing type gloves for anything besides sparring I’ve noticed such a big difference with the Hayabusa gloves my wrist is waaayy more stable n doesn’t hurt after sparring n bag work best 150 I spent I’m in nyc

I’ve been training with a pair of Reyes for about 6 years, still going strong. No big damage and still very comfortable. Like he mentions, they allow little movement in the wrist but with good hand wraps and good technique it shouldn’t be a risk of injury.
I’m about to buy another pair, luckily for me, here in Mexico we can get 14oz for about 100USD (2,000 pesos).

On the Hayabusa you can leave the stretch strap attached and still slide your hand in. Once you use them for a while you'll miss how comfortable they are on the inside and how they feel on your wrist in my experience. I recently switched after getting about 3+ years out of my Hayabusa 5-6 days a week. They still look and work fine, but my right hand was a bit sore after a few rounds of big punches, but that may have been partly because I am coming back after not training in years. I switched to a cheap gloves but I miss the mentioned features for sure

I "grew up" using Fairtex in the 90's, as an adult I went with the Captain America Hayabusa because I am a Marvel fan. My boys use Venum (red Camo) and Hayabusa (S4). Can you do a Hayabusa vs. Fairtex vs. Venum, comparison video? Curious what your thoughts are. Thanks in advance!

totally understand, when both gloves are made with high quality it will come down to the small details during training.
Reyes extra padding is a great option as well, I have them there my favorite gloves

I feel like though if you want the most wrist support then just get lace ups. It’s super hard to get the T3s on by yourself. If you have people to help you get them on just get lace ups. Even at that I’m still just a huge fan of Cleto Reyes.

I can say the t3 is solid and amazing. The marvel hulk gloves, something is different about them from the regular t3. I love marvel so had to get the 16oz hulks! The regular t3 because wanted to own a nice 10oz. Do you mean as far as being nice to a sparring partner? I’d stay away from marvel. They have a tough shell with coarse stitching and layers. At least the hulks do. The regular t3 are stiff on support but average on shell.

One thing I’d disagree on is regarding which glove will put your opponent down, because I’ve stopped using the Hayabusa for sparring because I’m not that cruel. The Hayabusa’s padding is the stiffest I’ve owned (aside from rival d30, which is a bag gloves btw).
Aside from that, I just wanna say for anyone’s who’s interested that after using my Reyes for the last 2 years (longest lasting pair in terms of the inevitable “funk”), that I will never buy another pair from any other brand.
Although I’d like to see what winnings feel like, I can’t see myself dropping that much dough for gloves when I have zero complaints with my Reyes.
However I’ve been wanting to grab the winning full face headgear for quite some time now, because I tried on a buddies and I know for certain nothing compares to those:p

Extra padding is obviously better but it doesn't have as many colors, especially for big hands

I get wrist and hand strains after my classes but i must say, the Hayabusa T3's are perfect for me! Deffo worth the money if youre concerned about your hands/wrist. The double lock straps are essential and they fit snug! They feel like theyre already broken in when you get them.

Late to the party here but I was experiencing the same thing. Hand and wrist is pain is gone (so far). The hayabusas do feel a little clunky. Takes a little getting used to. But overall great glove. Excellent quality.
Okay, not a boxer, but I went through a lot of wrist injuries both in Martial arts and Football.
Get stiff tape bandage on your wrists. It is very similar to the tape for hockey sticks and it should be used with a very thin foam undertape. That thing saves wrists like nothing else. And I believe it is also used for profesional boxing as a full hand tape.
Personally, I never liked how it felt to tape my hands in between my fingers, I loose cirsulation easily, but with tape I can leave my fingers alone and still have great support in the whole fist and wrist

Always train in 16oz. My 11 year uses 16oz. The oz of gloves doesn’t Have anything to do with your size.

I have the T3 and love them. Great for pad work and heavy bags. I’ve heard that it’s not so fun for sparring
Both are great gloves but the rivals are better for sparring and the busas are better for all around/bag work
RIVAL generally separate their gloves for different uses. I actually have the RS11V and use it primarily for sparring and very occasional bag and mitt work. I also have the Intelli-Shock RB10 which I primarily use for bag and mitt work which is what it's designed for.
I cant afford either but I enjoy listening :')

I've used t3 over the past 4ish years for my training (until the padding basically caved in). Recently got the t3 kanpeki as well. Also have used venum gloves prior to that. I like little hand movement inside the glove even for kickboxing so find the t3 a bit annoying in that sense. Also the gloves take MONTHS to fully wear down. Even over a year with near daily usage. So I don't think they're really built for that kind of thing. However, they are solid gloves, excellent quality and dual x closure locks in. Also not hard to strap on however very hard to slide hand in to get a perfect fit as the compartment is very snug / tight. You could get hand strain if you're not careful with them and have a good fit. Hope this helps somebody!

I'm sure you got your answer already and I'm not very qualified but I would say the Hayabusas are better for bagwork. The wrist support really is great and it's not like there's no padding for the knuckles.

I personally think the age old question has been Winning vs Reyes vs Grant. I know they’re all different price ranges, but I think all are known to be higher end boxing gloves. In my experience of owning both 16oz Reyes and Winning (only used for sparring), I have found that the Winnings are better for me. Personally they fit my hands snug, and they feel really light for 16oz gloves. I haven’t owned Grants, but people compare them to Winnings a lot.

I'm a MMA and Muay Thai Fighter. I prefer 8 oz Reyes gloves for mitt work when it comes to boxing training i love the feedback from the gloves when I punch. But I like the 16 oz Hayabusa gloves for sparring they protect your sparring partner better and your hands and it's easier to clinch with them.
That's some good insight, definitely something to consider.
Operator error. The difference in time for the double velcro is literally seconds.
In my experience with the Hayabusa glove, most of the weight sits where your fist is. Making throwing punches and retracting them more tiresome, and it makes throwing long hooks or flicker jabs harder because it’s like you’re holding a weight in your hand when you go to throw the punch. Which is why I’m looking to replace them, glove protects my hands pretty well but they’re so fat and heavy it’s annoying.
For me, the choice was close. As a boxer, I followed your advice. Could not be happier. Very helpful review.

Reyes for sure. Not even a question BUT ... If you are sparring all the time Reyes is pretty brutal on your sparring partners. It feels awesome and like he said very bouncy with good knuckle seepage but after you break them in and the horse hair gets a little flattened out you will have to watch your power on your partners.
For sparring the Reyes are like rocks I don't get it, why a training glove is like that

The wrist Support looks really nice, since my wrists are Lady size😅 but for one you are totaly right, it would be a pain in the ass to put them on, and the Reyes draw me in like a Moth in to Light.

@@fightcitygymtalk i never had them on, i got some cheap everlast sparing gloves 14oz and some Venum impact 10z, i really like the Venum but they quite soft, so i will propably get some Reyes sooner or later.
Hayabusa is too tough or stiff for sparring. Not a fan of those. Only used them a couple of times and semi retired them. Yet still have them. Reyes are a classic. Can’t go wrong with those gloves that has been in many championship boxing matches.
Reyes are far harder than the Hayabusa padding..

For anyone in the comments right now that is new to boxing, this is not a good video to go off of. Reason being that the gloves shown are only for bag work and Mitt work, not for sparring. they use a special style of glove called "sparring gloves" that designed to be used to spar with for a reason. I own the Hayabusa T3 LX italian leather and it feels amazing when I'm hitting the heavy bag or simply doing mit work. I also have laced hayabusa sparing gloves that feel a whole lot diffrent for HEAVY BAG gloves. Please do not use bag/mit gloves in a sparring session to avoid injury to yourself and others.

Reyes was used by Julio César Chávez ... but get the laced up ones. Sure you need a partner but you really shouldn’t be sparring without a corner anyway in my opinion

I have cleto and t3.you.must know that cleto ok its very high quality but it very heavy.with t3 you punch faster.

I love cleto reyes. I usually go for 16oz but for cleto i go with 14oz since they 14oz weigh 17oz on scale
I sold my T3 exactly for the reason he stated here... the velco system on the T3 got annoying to put on and off.

@@ndiz4003 i do own and use my own T3's and theyre great gloves. I use the 12oz's and i will say it again, if you sold them simply because of the double strap then thats silly. It takes an extra 2 seconds to undo the other strap with your teeth.

Lol I got a pair of optimum leather boxing gloves on a fire sell on amazon for $30 they copy the hayabusa double lace wrist. And now I bought a pair of pro mex title boxing gloves the rip off of the Reyes for $45 🤣

@@mcqlean4829 both gloves have a punchers feel to them but the optimum gloves got more full grain leather than the pro Mex. The pro Mex is an ok glove some of the coloring and leather is starting to peel on the knuckles for the price I got them for I feel I got a great deal. But I think these gloves are a little better and same price same country of origin but there muay thai gloves there called FARABI here's a link

Reyes use latex padding. That’s why they bounce.

In the training gloves it’s just a very thin layer of latex and your knuckles go right through it like horsehair but it recoils back instantly. Their fight gloves use horsehair though.

Hayabusa is a new American brand with no background history. Hayabusa and kanpeki are both Japanese words. There gloves are made in Pakistan. In other words, they are all over the place and have no real value compared to reyes. Their marketing is what attracts the unknown to these poorly over charged gloves. Yes its true, reyes will last 2x3 times longer than cheaper leather. That "super soft" thumb that is supposedly intended to wipe your sweat off is made up a suede like material. Your sweat will tear and break down that material. Stupid design.
This was longer than intended. I can't stress enough, don't fall for the fancy looks and fancy advertising from hayabusa. Reyes are one of the classiest and most pristine style gloves.

Hayabusa T3 not full leather, 10 bucks cheaper regular version, has a suede soft thumb. Feel like full leather version is kind of bragging purpose. T3 original is definitely advanced one. I see their effort to UPGRADE from classic one.

They are not made in Pakistan but China. China usually has good Quality control, unlike Pakistan.
