We are very excited about this year's Lavabre Cadet Special Project. In the video, I mistakenly used the term "crocodile" when I meant "alligator." Please note that alligator is used in these gloves, not crocodile.
Hi Kirby, Can you provide some guidance on how to maintain good quality gloves? E.g. should we be conditioning them regularly (e.g. with leather lotion), or does that become less important since the gloves will absorb oils from one's hand? Would be interested to learn more about this. Thanks!
I struggle to see myself wearing these gloves, but the video was very interesting to watch as someone who is naive to this area. Quick question - for projects like this do you think it is better to omit or include pricing in videos? I can potentially see both sides, but was curious as to why you chose the former. Thanks :)
MrEmahony Pricing wasn’t set at the time we filmed the video, so I felt it better just to leave that to the product listings. We’re not trying to conceal pricing - it’s on the website - but just didn’t want it permanently baked into this video.
Bjørn Henriksen Cashmere is warmer than silk, but creates a thicker glove. I personally enjoy the thinner feel of unlined gloves, ESPECIALLY with the Peccary.
Have any suggestions for someone looking for their first peccary dress gloves slightly more affordable than Lavabre Cadet? Just a bit out of my price range for first nice pair of dress gloves.
Hi Eric, The most affordable peccary gloves I've found are at the Gentleman's Gazette: www.gentlemansgazette.com/shop/accessories/leather-goods/gloves. They have options of lined v. unlined, a few colours, and the option of natural peccary v. a peccary that's been tanned in a way to make them more water resistant. They also all have a button closure, which I prefer to the open-slit style from Lavabre Cadet collaboration. I've have a pair of the natural peccary gloves to try out and decide if I want to purchase something better down the road. They are 2 piece pattern and have outside hand stitching. I've been fairly happy with them after one season. They are remarkably soft. But they also absorb moisture very easily. Hope that helps!
William Coolidge Yes. These can be ordered with no monogram. I’ll add that option. Or you could just select one glove and write “Omit” in the form. Regardless, we confirm each order individually with the customer after orders are placed online.
zoukatron en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peccary A peccary (also javelina or skunk pig) is a medium-sized hoofed mammal of the family Tayassuidae (New World pigs) in the suborder Suina along with the Old World pigs, Suidae. They are found throughout Central and South America and in the southwestern area of North America. Peccaries usually measure between 90 and 130 cm (3.0 and 4.3 ft) in length, and a full-grown adult usually weighs about 20 to 40 kg (44 to 88 lb).
Carpincho or capybara are rodents. Now I see your confusion. Different than Peccary. Peccary is a pig. Capybara are rodents (very cute, also, as I recently saw one at the zoo).
@@kirbyallison Actually YOU said Peccary are rodents in the video, not zoukatron ( I believe this is what they were asking). But your information above is presumably correct (I didn't look up genus and species/family/etc.).

Very impressed with the aligator options.
What brand are your glasses, Kirby? I do very much like them!
Jellyfish 703 Francois Pintor from Paris

Take a look at our Q&A video on gloves. I don't recommend conditioning them... not really necessary.

The Hanger Project Makes sense :) Thanks for explaining.
Beautiful gloves Kirby, will these be available on the UK website for order?
Noor Hussain We recommend ordering through the US website to keep things simple. After you place your order, we can work out shipping / VAT details.
Any driving gloves project coming? made-to-order or not.
If you're interested in some driving gloves, reach out to customer service. We can take care of you.
Hi Kirby, looks very interesting! What are the pros and cons of silk vs cashmere?

Thank you for your answer!
When will you have the Cleverley Shoetrees back in stock?
Nice price for the gloves.

Eric Schmidt Unfortunately, this is such a rare and difficult material to work with, it’s hard to find anything less expensive.

what watch are you wearing there? and a bespoke leather strap? gorgeous!
Arnold Arnoldsson Thank you! This is my Chopard Perpetual Calendar with a custom strap from Jean Rosseau.
Holy... alligator gloves? I gotta get myself one of those
Nevermind, I cannot afford it.
The gators are awesome... not subtle at all, quite loud, but awesome indeed.
Matt Deckard ...at night... at night they’re surprisingly subtle! 😂😂
The Hanger Project they look amazing! I want a pair.
Well played
Can these be ordered with no monogram? The drop down box shows one glove or two, but no option for none. Personally, I don't care for monograms.

Sadly they have no button closing at the wrist
jacobftww We can add a button closure, should you desire one.
Did you mean to say that peccaries are rodents, rather than close relatives of pigs? Anyway, I'm very tempted by this.
