      Yes, its so annoying having to do it, but can't just leave it there. The Raiders Road is lovely but it's lumpy, bumpy terrain. Thanks for watching as usual. Always appreciated.

    Do not PANIC ! Karl, you too Helen, it won't be long before they all bugger off back to Benidorm and Tenerife on their holidays,slagging off the British weather 😢 and banging on how great it is in the sun, getting rat arsed around the pool etc etc At least those of us who appreciate the tranquill nature and beauty of Britain can have it back 😀 👍

    Was there a few years ago, cleaned up an abandoned camp site, tent sleeping bags and everything you need for camping too, binned the lot

      People do tend to leave stuff now, too much of a throw away society without thinking of the environmental impact. So annoying and sad to see.

      @@roaminginraymond I agree but I think the bigger issue for us is the fact that those who are leaving all their mess and the ignorant element of motorhomers dumping their toilet waste is having a detrimental effect on our ability to wild camp, there are now vigilante groups against us motorhomers in the north of Scotland and anti motorhomer groups on line, angers me to no end.

      Yes agree. And with more people buying motorhomes and campervans now, I fear it will get worse. Why people can't leave a place as they find it I don't know. It's as bad with ones who have no loo at all and then leave dirty toilet roll lying around. Carry a shovel and bury your mess, it's not hard to do. We carry a shovel incase we ever have to bury it. Thing is now, people in cars go to places and leave a mess, but motorhomes and campervans get the blame. Most of us have etiquette.

      You're welcome. It's beautiful but does get busy, though quieter in the winter months or on dull days. Dodgy terrain getting down Raiders Road but worth it.

    Another great vlog! Loved that sunset view, it appeared amazing! Nice filming there. Also, the Otterspool scenes were stunning including drone footage at the end. Very much enjoyed it..keep going!

    It maybe really hot for all of us but I feel so sorry for the dogs, it must be hell for them. The sunset was absolutely glorious.

      Lol, yes, sometimes our accents a little hard to get. I'm quite good at understanding accents unless it's really thick Irish or Scottish. It is a lovely place. We are just us, which luckily people seem to like!😁

      Glad you enjoyed it.❤️ The sunset was beautiful and those birds flying after the bugs at dusk were amazing, there were loads of them. I wish he had been, I'm getting bitten everyday, the fecking things! Trying to edit today's drone footage while squishing midges!🤣 They love me but I hate them.😩

      Think it's just a combination of the time of year unfortunately and hot days. We had a nice time there anyway, it is a beautiful place. They'd probably be on an 18-25 holiday abroad normally lol.

      I know, trouble is when it's hot people head for water. Loch Doon was depressing but we liked the Raiders Road apart from the lads but they weren't too bad, just a bit noisy. Hope you're doing OK and getting ready for your travels.❤️

      Yeah, the litter at Loch Doon was depressing, honestly. Raiders Road was OK though. Just a few bits but not much for how many people had been there when we'd driven past the day before. The Raiders Road is great for overnighting. The whole area is really, or even just for visiting.

    Love that part of Scotland, had to wash the van after the Raiders Road it was grey 😁Afraid you picked the wrong time of year for peace and quiet, the Scots school holiday are earlier.

      Yeah we realised that lol but the second spot was much quieter where we spent the weekend. That road, the A712, the Queens Way, has so much to offer in such a small area. You only drive for five minutes and there is somewhere else to explore lol. Ever since someone on the Elddis FB page told us to try Dumfries and Galloway, we've loved the place.

    Beautiful places and amazing sunset at the start and at the loch especially. Loved the ducks and the birds flying looking for insects to eat. Great stuff. Sorry some have to cause a mess in beautiful places. Nice drone shots too.

      Thank you, much appreciate your comments. That whole area has loads of laybys and places to park up. And they're all off the same road, which is brilliant, and probably 10 minutes drive between them. We were disappointed not to film at Loch Doon as it's one stunning place, but that's what made it so depressing with all the litter. But we're back mid September so will film it then if its quieter. Hopefully it will be.

      We hadn't been for ages. We were meant to do a month last April but that went out the window. We're back again September for a bigger tour. Winter is a good time as it looks beautiful in a different way then.

    We passed on the raiders road when we were down there as we were told by friends it was where the youths went to party. At least you found a peaceful spot. Don't get me started on litter.

      We've stayed before at Loch Stroan and it's normally OK, just fishermen and campers normally, so most probably the time of year and the hot weather. The litter wasn't too bad, just a small bag full. Unlike our last park up which I don't think you've seen as you always comment and didn't lol. We had a right rant, sorry, I mean waffle lol, about that place! Actually made us feel quite fed up as we love it there, but nowhere near as bad as Loch Doon. Loch Doon was quite depressing which is why we left. Don't understand why people go to these places just to ruin it by leaving a mess.

      We didn't do long in Ayrshire, too many people and too much mess in some places unfortunately so we came back down too. The midges haven't been too bad, but I have bites on my legs and face, although some are big fly bites, horseflies I think. More midges in the morning and at sunset as you probably know. But not too bad but they do like the taste of my blood unfortunately!

      No, the sunset here was filmed with the pocket 2, but Karl did a time-lapse sunset with it on the Ayrshire vlog, the one with the big rock island in the sea. We mainly use it for photos or if it is something that I can't film as it's too far away, like the goat with the baby goat feeding. Yes, I think corona brought the good out in some, and the worst out in others.

      We only show these places and say the name, we don't give what 3 words or exact locations out, as if people really want to visit there, they can find out for themselves. These places are there to be visited, and if people take the effort to find where these locations are, then surely they are welcome. We found it was the day trippers that were there in there many, that left mess for us to go and litter pick later. So not so secret a location with all the day trippers that were visiting.

      We always litter pick as it's one of our bugbears. We certainly understand what you're saying which is why we don't do the what 3 words thing, even though we have been asked to in the past, but we won't. We want to show how beautiful places can be, but if people really want to go there, they can do a bit of research themselves like we have to to find these places in the first place. Hope that made sense lol.

    Rubbish problem is caused by decades of neglect and lack of parental supervision. I was a Boy Scout and learnt to respect the environment: maybe it is time to bring back some sort of compulsory education on saving the environment ?

      Completely agree. Kids brought up with lack of respect or care for the environment and other people. Not all are the same though luckily.
