This really does help illustrate how much Fortnite lost its identity. It’s no suprise the game started to fall apart after Donald left, with ch3s4 feeling like the last season that was truly Fortnite with weird chrome stuff. And it has lost a lot of it’s identity in chapter 5
Hopefully now that Lego Fortnite and other modes are done being made, live events can return
just because they're made, doesn't mean they'll stop developing it all. They never stop and it's worrying given that BR is getting less care than usual, with sparse updates and actual cool shit going on. It's just blurring the lines between Fortnite and Ready Player One or something more and more

@@Guy-May-Crybr literally gets the most support out of all the gamemodes. Battle royale is quite literally Fortnite’s identity. Everyone who knows it knows it as a battle royale. No matter how much meta verse shit they put into there, br isn’t going to get phased out like these fearmongers think.
To be fair, Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 were originally supposed to be a lot better, with seasons in different spots. The Chrome was originally supposed to be the finale for Chapter 3 Season 10.
So yeah, things felt bad mid chapter 3, but that’s because they literally broke their original plan.
Now they’re getting back on track and doing a lot better

@nok4799 Charlie Wen has worked on amazing things in the past and the Big Bang was supposed to be better than it was meaning most of Charlie Wen's parts he worked on were most likely cut from the event hopefully the next live event can show us Charlie Wen's story actually the Titan hand mini live event was most likely created by Charlie Wen himself along with the other story writers most likely and the Titan hand event was so good
I thought Jonesy was sort of his temporary skin since i believed he voiced him, but man if they made his own skin during Vibin', that would have been an honarary call. I think some of the community really believed they were gonna do that but, i guess will never know.

Festival was created by Harmonix, and Rocket Racing was created by Psyonix. It turns out that the people who made the live events were sent to help develop Lego Fortnite. Lego literally destroys everything.

Fr, I’ve seen more people playing single creative maps than the new modes. They’re just excuses to sell more stuff.
Its aggravating that some of the new modes get less or the same amount of players as STW, yet it doesnt get any more meaningful updates whereas Rocket Racing does.
At the very least id say scrap rocket racing , and lets its spot be taken by STW so it can get frequent updates
(Rocket racing has like 3k to 6k players at times, always less then STW )
these new modes are shit and add nothing to the game
would have been way better to keep expanding the BR and work on events
but we can’t knock epic for trying something new

this is really heartbreaking, the love and joy fortnite created in my early teens will forever be unmatched. it sucks the direction they’re going in as of now. very thankful for donald mustard and the story he made in fortnite. will forever hold a place in my heart.
This is literally my exact opinion on this. I feel no need to play the game anymore and this interview was honestly a way for me to realise I need to just let go of it because it’s never going to be what it once was and I’m never going to be able to enjoy the things that I did about this game again. Super disappointing but I’m still thankful for all of the great years that we did have :(

I remember a video from Mustard Plays explaining his brother (Donald) is a genius story teller since he was a kid. People need to appreciate him more. He really is the reason this game had its magic. The game definitely felt different after Vibing, the fracture event was rushed and chapter 4 felt completely different from chapters 1, 2 and 3. The current chapter is nothing like old Fortnite. Really gonna miss you Donald, thank you for all of the great memories 💖

I was playing Fortnite earlier and it really doesn’t feel like the Fortnite I fell in love with like, the storyline, the live events, and also the communication with the players! There are so many lags rn in Fortnite it’s crazy. And on top of that the whole multiverse of Fortnite is just not what I wanted personally.

Tbh I never really cared about the events, with the exception of the rocket launch. It was such a surreal feeling seeing a rocket ripping holes in the sky while I was fighting for my life! If they disabled killing while the event was happening and then turned it back on after it was over, that woulda been cool. But just keep the events as something that happen in addition to the fighting, not instead of.

Vibin was my most favourite season to play out of any other. It had darth vader, Indiana jones and the first parts of the dragon ball collaboration. The whole season was so great in my opinion.
Makes sense. His last season he oversaw was Vibin, which was the last season I believe the storyline was good/exciting.
Can’t even say I’m wrong too which is the sad thing. Storyline was nonexistent come Fracture (wow, the chapter finale live event he didn’t oversee was shit? Who woulda guessed!)

Theres multiple skins that are only available on certain consoles. The reason Epic didnt add Samus is because Nintendo wanted to make it to the point where you couldnt even SEE another player WEARING the Samus skin if you werent on switch.

I was shockingly correct on why I thought Donald Mustard left fortnite, my reason was because of the yearly chapters he decided to retire around ch3 s4 because he couldnt tell the story that he wanted to tell, I thought this way before the end of ch4 so before any of the metaverse stuff. It makes me really sad Donald left since the story in br was my favorite part of the game and has extremely fallen off lately, but as sad as it is I hope Donald will be happy with whatever he does in the future.

With all the money and effort they spent on live events, concerts, new modes, etc, they could have at least finished save the world's storyline. They are still charging real money for access to an unfinished game mode, the original game mode. BR has gotten so much that I have a hard time feeling bad for people who want old BR back. Tbh I find BR monotonous and frustrating. I win well enough, but it gets old. At least with new modes, there's something to do where I can still use my cosmetics that I've collected over the years. All that being said, I do agree that BR was more fun when Donald Mustard was in charge of it.

The biggest problem with gaming industries these days is that other gaming companies want to be like eachother. Its sad too see Fortnite loosing its point and meaning of the game like live events and what makes it special I hate that there taking ideas from other games and trying to be like roblox which that will never happen because the community for roblox is super huge and they wouldn't be able to top that. There missing what really makes the heart of Fortnite and if only they followed the heart and the meaning of Fortnite success will come for them. Fortnite was so fun back in the day and its devastating too see what it has become now I wish they would listen to the community and realise that there's a bigger picture and that they need to focus what the community wants and not focusing on other gaming industries.
They should make Fortnite festival let you play through old Fortnite concerts.

Fortnite changed gaming forever and we will only keep seeing its influence to the future
So this is why they’re doing yearly chapters. Chapters 3 4 and 5 will unfortunately be very forgettable compared to chapters 1 and 2. Wish this was a game based on the game, not quarterly business meetings. But, like everything, money talks and will contaminate anything original and unique.
The Samus thing was never 100% confirmed but it's sad that Nintendo is so predicatbel we didn't even need to hear the reasoning. It still sucks so much since if we got her who know who else we could've gotten

Never understood the hate towards it. It was a fun season, not the best but the story was still good and gameplay was fun. (I feel the same about Ch4s3, it’s over-hated) Paradise was the only bad season in Ch3 tbh.

Ngl, everyone's saying that Donald Mustard left Epic after seeing it becoming the metaverse, but he was the one that pitched it with a survival mode, which become lego fortnite, and the rest, Festival and rocket racing, I don't know. But, it's possible that Epic may have gone too much with the metaverse and ruined it from becoming what Mustard wanted. Bringing us to today, where the metaverse is still trying to go out there, but failing in terms of numbers, and people wanting battle royale as shown by the numbers as a result of Mustard's legacy.
Donald creates the ideas, epic just makes it happen.

It’s not mind boggling that Nintendo decline. Nintendo has always made and protected their prolific IPs ever since their beginning, before PlayStation and Xbox even existed. I’m not really mad because Nintendo has always just been in a league of its own whether IPs, console innovations or games in all. I don’t think they’re as greedy as everyone says, they just want to maintain their independence and have their products as they intended. With that said, they do make some damning, goofy choices, but them rejecting Fortnite is not one of them.

@@MamaGojira Believe me. I wanted the same. Samus having a built-in emote to change to Zerosuit Samus, vice versa and a Metroid back bling. With her spaceship as a glider and her blaster as a Mystic weapon. It would have definitely been crazy, but never say never. Crazier things have happened.

Yeah there were a few things that weren’t really accurate in here but that’s just human memory being sketchy mixed with the behind the scenes timeline being different than the one we saw.
In the interview he said John Wick was the first real world playable character in Fortnite but wasn’t that technically Star Lord and Black Widow?
Those were mostly cos plays by OG Fortnite skins, Jonsey is Star-Lord, they weren't actual Black Widow or Star-Lord. For example, in Mortal Kombat 11, Kitana has a Catwoman skin, but it's only her, not the actual Catwoman.
