I agree 100%. It's silly to lock content behind playing at a certain time. If you care about other people owning skins then you probably shouldn't be playing online games anyway.
It's the fact that they've already stated that battlepass items won't come back, and that's one of the reasons people buy the passes. Bringing them back is going back on a promise that was already made to people. It's just false advertising at best and manipulating to double dip at worst. If they openly state from now on that skins from the BP will return, people won't have as much of an issue. I'm fine with BP skins coming back, but you NEED to make sure that people know they're coming back. It's already bad enough to capitalize on people's fomo, but to then sell the items again after you already manipulated people into getting it is another scumbag move on top of that. At the end of the day it doesn't matter too much to me either way. They're just skins. There'll be better skins later on to get, so there's not a reason to worry about them now.
Epic should probably introduce the exclusivity locker which works similar to the item shop but introduces the missed out skins and instead of v-bucks it uses kill coins which can be obtained every 3-5 kills.

I think it would be smart to bring back collab skins into the shop, even from battle pass or crew. Collabs are always loved by many and new players will never be able to get these. Keep the og fortnite characters as prizes to show off your account if you want to be a lame troll... but make battle pass collab skins a shop item after a year or so.
Here's my thought. As bad and as fucked up as this sounds. They're probably going to release most of every single battle pass again. I would say from chapter one on, or they could make another style for almost any other character, they could make the original Doom guy style. They can make the original one of the three first Iron Man styles. They can do so many different styles for so many different characters. Maybe not every single character will be able to come out, but a good portion of characters have a million different outfits and movies, books or series, so we could really see something.
I think a good compromise for battle pass exclusivity would make it to where these season limited skins will be exclusive for maybe a full year or since they’re doing the whole OG thing that’s gonna be bringing back the old seasons, it’d be cool to bring back battle pass skins from those seasons. Give everyone a chance to get old skins that they may not have been around for
The more and more colabs are added in battle passes the more tragic it feels that anyone would miss out on them if they love these characters sure I can't complain as much I got all of them since deadpool but we can all understand people's problems with it
I feel like they should bring a system where you can still get old battle passes however you have to buy them and can only progress one at a time. This would gove a good sense of progression and make it so that if you buy a pass your probably gonna spend a while before getting another one unless they let you progres the one for whatever season aswel which woild entice you to dish out money for it still in order to max out how much you gain from playing.
I am glad to see them slowly move away from the Battle Pass into game mode specific passes (that have content that can return eventually) because tying story and collab skins to the BP was/is a mistake IMHO.
Epic should have a market place where people can sell skins in their lockers to each other. Obviously with a service fee to them. So a player gets Vbucks, epic gets a cut and somebody gets a skin they want. For example i have peter Griffen but i wouldnt mind selling him to a bigger peter griffen fan. Etc etc
I have a great solution to the battlepass collabs. Make any collab skin in a battlepass able to come back in the item shop. Fortnite should keep their original skins from the battlepass exclusive to that battlepass but any collabs in a battlepass should be able to reture without their extra styles as those can be battlepass exclusive

I still feel like a good way they could do to bring back BP skins is either release them a long time after a BP is gone OR release them after a while, but make it limited to the standard outfits. So, for example, if you missed getting Deadpool you still have a chance to get him, but at the cost of not being able to use his alt. Skins as a way to still incentivise people to do the BPs
Would be interesting if they did something similar to the Skull trooper when it first returned where people who already had the skin gained the exclusive style, like if Black Knight got a White Knight alt or something exclusive to the OG players and vice versa with other skins
I am missing the Mandalorian skin so much. One thing Epic could do is taking the exclusivity from the bonus/secret passes and putting the collab skins into that section of the battle pass. Then they could sell these skins at a later date for a higher price and everyone would be happy. Players would still be buying the passes when they are out because it would be much more expensive to get only one skin of them at a later date and new players would still be able to buy their most favourite og skin, even if it's a bit more expensive.
They should make it so you can get legacy battle passes like Vigor where half of your xp goes to the legacy pass and the other half goes to the normal pass

I finally got Boba Fett and the "This is The Way" emote. And as someone who started late in November 2023 during the OG Season, I would've loved to have Mandolorian to complete my set. I was a big fan of Jango Fett and Boba Fett growing up, so not getting Mandolorian anymore is a bit sad. Hopefully that'll change soon.

I used to be a model player and I owned every skin from the C2S1-C2S3 battle passes. After it shut down I had to save up for an Xbox, I happily got it late C2S4 so I wasn’t able to get Iron Man or Wolverine. I wish I still had the cosmetics from my previous account.😔 Hopefully they remake skins like Deadpool and Wolverine. Love the videos btw❤️
Legacy Battle Passes. It wouldn't hurt anyone, the items could still be "exclusive" for a couple years, but it would allow new players to enjoy these skins. Especially with LEGO Fortnite adding these skins, it's absurd that younger players who weren't even allowed to have an account have no chance to play as the characters they want to.

I still feel like a good way they could do to bring back BP skins is either release them a long time after a BP is gone OR release them after a while, but make it limited to the standard outfits. So, for example, if you missed getting Deadpool you still have a chance to get him, but at the cost of not being able to use his alt. Skins as a way to still incentivise people to do the BPs
Would be interesting if they did something similar to the Skull trooper when it first returned where people who already had the skin gained the exclusive style, like if Black Knight got a White Knight alt or something exclusive to the OG players and vice versa with other skins

I am missing the Mandalorian skin so much.
One thing Epic could do is taking the exclusivity from the bonus/secret passes and putting the collab skins into that section of the battle pass. Then they could sell these skins at a later date for a higher price and everyone would be happy. Players would still be buying the passes when they are out because it would be much more expensive to get only one skin of them at a later date and new players would still be able to buy their most favourite og skin, even if it's a bit more expensive.

The answer is so simple. Limited exclusives. After a limited 2-year exclusivity period, ANY skin or cosmetic can return. Epic is seriously leaving money on the table by locking iconic skins behind BPs forever.

I finally got Boba Fett and the "This is The Way" emote. And as someone who started late in November 2023 during the OG Season, I would've loved to have Mandolorian to complete my set. I used to be a model player and I owned every skin from the C2S1-C2S3 battle passes. After it shut down I had to save up for an Xbox, I happily got it late C2S4 so I wasn’t able to get Iron Man or Wolverine. I wish I still had the cosmetics from my previous account.😔 Hopefully they remake skins like Deadpool and Wolverine. Love the videos btw❤️

Legacy Battle Passes. It wouldn't hurt anyone, the items could still be "exclusive" for a couple years, but it would allow new players to enjoy these skins. Especially with LEGO Fortnite adding these skins, it's absurd that younger players who weren't even allowed to have an account have no chance to play as the characters they want to.

Yes, these skins in the battle pass will never return but like you said Epic makes variant skin so yes we can see new Deadpool and Wolverine skins when the movie comes out, Indiana Jones with the tuxedo at the beginning of Temple of Doom or in his light brownish tan button up shirt without the jacket… There’s a Matrix glider, emotes and one wrap but wondering we will get skins… Hoping to see Spider-Man NWH skin come back in the item shop again when we get the huge Marvel season later this year!
