I know! I missed the elegant ballerina theme her transformation had. To this day her classic transformation always gives me chills

The old transformations are nicer (except lettuces. She got an upgrade) but all the new outfits are better (except for puddings and Zakuros). But the plot and storylines of the new one is WAY better than the original especially since Ichigo is 16 here and not 12 ☠️

Mint has always been second to last in my book, but I feel kinda mad about how absolutely dirty they did her transformation. She’s a ballerina! She’s supposed to be graceful and move fluidly, but her movements were so clunky and her legs look stubby. Just- what did they do to her? Why?

I don't personally see how it's more suggestive than the 2002 version, and in that one she's 12. At the very least they aged her up a bit in the new adaptation.
Same. For me Mint's old transformation (and hairstyle) is better.

I don't like it. They changed so much about the original charm in the outfits. Plus they don't fit pudding at all. SHE IS THE YOUNGEST MEMBER.

@@leftarmoflifeI think just her outfit is general, everybody's outfit, every girls' outfit is literally just glorified lingerie, garter and everything. The girls are actual literal little kids, especially, pudding.

Mew Ichigo is the only complete transformation for me with an acceptable pose
I swear they spent the entire budget on Ichigo's transformation how does the animation for the rest of them look so janky
La transformation de Zakuro à toujours été ma préférée (j'adore le mouvement des cheveux quand elle atterie). C'est le cool avant le concept du cool.
Cela dit, les nouvelles transformations ont augmenté d'un cran dans le mémorable et celle de letasu est superbe (même si les pas de flamenco me manquent), tellement gracieuse! Mais je trouve dommage d'avoir retiré la danse classique dans celle de Minto, c'était pourtant sublime.

The old ones were better. These ones are okay but they are lacking something.
They're not "bad" but compared to the originals I'd say it's a downgrade. More camera angles =/= good. And they got rid of everything that made each girl's transformation unique. Like, what happened to Lettuce's little dance at the end with her castanets? Her Latin theme was cute! And Mint barely does any ballet moves, you can hardly tell that she's dancing at all.
I know that Mia Ikumi designed the new outfits but I don't like those either, they look way too similar to each other.
BUT. The shoes look 10000x better than before.
I have no idea how the transformations from 20 years ago are better than what we have today, is it the state of the anime industry or did this studio in particular just not care?
I agree that Minto got a downgrade, but it makes sense that they downplayed her ballet since her ballet dancing isn't mentioned in the anime itself. For Lettuce it's just a creative choice. They chose to give her more of a latin influence in the old adaptation and chose not to do that in the new adaptation. I personally greatly prefer her new transformation, it's just so shiny, and sparkly, and pretty and ghaaaaaaaaaa!! But I also have no nostalgia for the old version.
The Mew Mews are not actual magical girls, they're mutants aren't they? Where'd the dna sequence part go?

They definitely weren't. There was nonstop passion from the people working on this show behind the scenes. There were however budgeting restrictions, and the main studio who worked on it didn't have a lot of experience with this kind of show. I think they did great for what we got, the updates to the story and characters especially made it so worth it!
I don't know why but it feels too much "transformation" and not enough "characterization", if you understand what I mean?
Some of the designs are a bit or miss. Zakuro’s was completely ruined while Mint’s was done very well. I feel like for pudding and Ichigo the layers were too much
I agree. I think their updated mew mew designs just got way too much going on for my taste. Mint,Zakuro, and lettuce's especially. The reboot itself is very adorable, but I feel like the artists tried way too hard to pile on the cuteness factor here. In the original, the outfits were simplistic but still cute. I miss Pudding 's pantsuit and Lettuce's leotard. They really added character and fitted their animal types.
Zakuro used to spin and have flames and her dynamic expressions were so good when she jumped. Also better hairstyle, these forehead bangs are a total miss and make her look like Hinata. The transformation is just flash flash flash and the camera just pans down for the next flash, and she makes no dynamic movements until she dramatically jumps down to get her ponytail

I agree, Mint's new outfit is okay. I don't like her hair... her old buns were cuter! Although she did have a similar hairstyle in the OG anime occasionally, if I remember correctly (when she untied her hair). Zakuro, too, I could accept her ponytail, but those bangs... I don't think they suit her much 😅 Overall, I don't like the new designs, it feels like the details they added are a little distracting. Magical girls don't need to be super elaborate to be appealing, sometimes simplicity is better!

Nevermind Pudding is just so odd, it's like they went with the more fluid animation with ichigo aned a bit with Zakuro but left Mint, Pudding and Lettuce out, I'm not even a fan of the original show but these just aren't that good imo

That reminds me when will english dubbed for the reboot of Tokyo Mew Mew Series be finally released at last because I would have though they will be planning to do that just like they did for Sailor Moon Crystal and Shaman King 2021.
Puddings transformation was an upgrade but her outfit sucks. I miss the fun little romper the poofy skirt doesnt suit her 5.5/10. Mint got done the worst imo. Her old transformation was so beautiful but the new one is so generic. Also not a fan of her longer hair or the dress. I think if she had feather details it would really sell the bird theme -3/10. Zakuros transformation ate shes mother 9.5/10. Lettuce....idk how to feel. The diving sequence is super cute but everything else feels so generic 5/10 ichigo....girl idk what to say. Her new outfit is the cutest but her new transformation is so forgettable 2/10

@@nikitamacinnis-tw8pxI’m pretty sure. I used to read the mangas . They changed it for the anime because the 2002 and the manga are different and the reboot follows the anime instead of the manga. Pudding was a Golden lion

Lettuce's was bad, would've been great if it was better animated and choreographed but the way it is it's just plain bad, nice vision awful execution
@ tbh none of the new transformations are animated well. So I didn’t take that into perspective. I compared them to their OG transformations and Lettuce’s new one fits her personality way more than her OG so I will stick with my opinion

Zakuro and Lettuce’s transformations are okay, even slightly improved, but the rest are just lame. Mint got the worst of it. What happened to her ballet dancing?? That was something she did in her normal life, it makes sense she’d incorporate it into her transformation.
I do like the idea of pairing them up with their animal silhouettes, but otherwise these are just kind of dull
