Hi Steven. Lovely to see you switching to Fuji X. I made the switch around a year ago and thoroughly enjoyed the benefits of mirrorless Fuji over my previous Nikon. My favourite lens is currently the 10-24mm also and I'm considering adding a CPL to my bag but am concerned about an uneven effect on such a wide angle. I currently use the Firecrest 10 stop and would likely go for Formatt Hitech's polariser too if it performs well with this lens. Are you able to confirm whether you've experienced any issues in this respect? Many thanks for your time and look forward to your response! Ian
Hi...please can you say something about both Fujifilm XT2 & XPRO2, and your experience which one you prefer , as i am also thinking either Fuji or Nikon D750
Another enjoyable Vlog Steven and it’s uncanny watching you go through what I went through last year with the XT-2 and X-Pro2. I do see the merit in having both cameras the same but in the end opted for one of each as I just love the X-Pro2 as my take anywhere camera just with one lens shooting some street photography or family events. For weddings I take both cameras with me and use my XT-1 as a backup. Keep the content coming!
I'm an old (and I do mean old) film guy and sat out most of the digital age. A couple of years ago I got back in with the Fuji X-E2. Hard to describe but there's just something tactile and pleasant about the Fuji shooting experience. A couple of weeks ago I rented both the X-Pro-2 and X-T2 for a test run at the Marin Headlands area of San Francisco Bay. Loved the tilting screen and extra controls of the X-T2 (plus 4K video) but found myself shooting much more with Pro-2. Just something about it that appealed to me. (Also tried out a Nikon D-750 but even with FF capabilities, I was unmoved)
Well said on the gear front. The camera is a tool, like a hammer, and it doesn't really matter which hammer you have as long as it makes you happy and you can hammer nails with it. If that makes any sense at all! lol
Hi, just wondered if you had any issues with the auto focussing i.e. miss focus, slow, hunting etc on either the XPRO 2 or the XT2 in low light e.g. at a wedding? I tried the XPRO 1 a long, long while back at a wedding and it drove me nuts, so I've stuck with Nikon ever since. But the cameras are getting on a bit and they're heavy beasts! I'd agree with you about the staff at Calumet, they're great guys in Glasgow too:) Cheers for a very informative video!
I just picked up and Xpro2 about a month ago to cycle into my Canon gear for weddings. It's been great so far. I've just booked a trip to Lofoten Islands in September. I have a few D810's for my aerial work and a full range of landscape lenses for my Canon's but I'll be taking just the Fuji. I just have to figure out what lenses I want to buy, too many choices :D
I've been pondering a 2nd hand unit 6D or Olympus OMD but the fuji just seems to create a bit of a spark the way it feels etc would you say as a amateur looking to go to the next level XT Pro or XT 2 I'm really wanting to be out in the elements so what ever unit its just got to be weather sealed
Switched to Fuji X last year from Nikon SLR. I know what you mean about igniting excitement back into your photography. Just something about the system that I love. Great video as always. 👍
Beautiful images, Steven! As an X-Pro 2 landscape/product shooter, I've been amazed at the sharpness, detail, and overall image quality obtainable with the Fujifilm X-System, especially their superb XF lenses, such as the 16-55, 55-200, 23 f/2 35 f/2 and 90 f/2! (BTW, the XF90 f/2 is probably the sharpest lens I've ever used in my 35+ years in photography.) I too, was thinking of acquiring an XT-2, but still loving the X-Pro 2, although as you pointed out, the articulating LCD of the XT-2 would make those low shots a bit easier to deal with. Thanks again!
Very simple & nicely done Steven with great images. I'm also an official Fuji X stockist in Cookstown. Camera + & a owner of an X-Pro2 kit. For anyone one that doesn't fancy a trip to Belfast, I'm happy to help & advise on a Fuji X camera. Great sharing the superb images.
Hi Owen. Thanks! Yeah the battery life isn't a major issue. It's def nowhere near as good as the Canon ones but then the X series setup is a totally different camera. If you adjust certain settings and make sure that the power management is set to turn off after 15 secs, then you can make the batteries last quite a long time. But I usually do carry 2 spares just in case I need them. To give you a rough indication, I shoot weddings with 2 Fuji bodies and usually change the battery in both cameras once on a 8/9 hour wedding day so that's 4 batteries in total.
Hi Steve. Great vlog as always. I enjoy your videos from the day I discovered your channel. I love them even more now, because I feel the same way like you as I got my first mirrorless Sony camera in December. Thank you for sharing your photographic journeys with us! Such an inspiration .... Cheers from Bulgaria
Great videos on your channel; I just subscribed. I used the Fuji XE2 and the XT1 with a variety of lenses for about 2.5 years. While I like the ergonomics and the IQ, I did have reliability issues with both cameras, from EvF/backscreen flickering in the presence of radio waves from WiFi and cellular signals, which would never acknowledge or fix, to a shutter button failure, and to a sensor failure. I also that processing the Xtrans raw files a pain compared to Canon raw files. While the IQ was very good, the IQ from my Canon 6D was noticeably better. So, I sold all my Fuji stuff for Canon 5D4 and could not be happier. Hopefully, your experience with Fuji will be better than mine, but I recommend that you hang on to your Canon stuff for a while...
You're right, it's the journey as well as the destination. Thanks for sharing!

Really loved that second image
Very nice clip and appropriate as I now have X Pro 2 while my D5 owning mate just bought X T2. Think we have both been rejuvenated

Great video - How does the image quality compare to that of the Canon 5D sR?
One honest explanation and me which camera is ideal for me
Hi Stephen liking the video as always, just one question, how are you managing the battery life with fuji?

Steven Hanna thanks for the reply I ordered one this morning..
Do you prefer mirrorless over a DSLR now?
Hi Steve, did you buy an xpro2 in the end? Great video
Great work, lovely shots! May I ask what the piece of music was you used?
Don't rule out exposing a little for the highlights as the fujis can recover well from clipped areas too.

Thanks Ivan. Glad you're enjoying the Vlogs. Feel free to share the channel with your friends! :)
Good Vlog. The Fuji gear is meant to be good although never used one myself. Loving my Sony so far. Atb
Thanks! Yeah mirrorless is proving to be very popular at the minute.
I miss my 60mm. Sold it for the 56 f1.2, but preferred the IQ from the 60

🌟 Excellent! 🙌 😍
Are you getting the green foliage mush?
You've never shot a rangefinder before this?
