Starset doesn't suck altogether; it's also likely this video and its sound quality (another thing left unmentioned).

I agree, some cameras used to record concert videos have horrible audio quality. However, in this case...the camera I used to shoot this video has EXCEPTIONAL sound quality! If you listen to this video again...you may realize the sound quality is not to blame. If anything, the sound quality is too good and "clear". So much so, you could distinctly hear Dustin's voice sounding a little pitchy in a few parts. Overall, I still enjoyed the performance very much! That was the 3rd time I saw Starset in concert. I have seen Starset a total of 5 times...each time they sounded better and better. In Dustin's defense, there's a high level of difficulty to sing those songs. Transmissions (studio version) is pretty much perfection. It's very difficult to replicate perfection. Dustin has the formidable task of trying to measure up. Sometimes people can be overcritical.

It was my first time seeing Breaking Benjamin...and I thought they sounded awesome! Anyways, I can't wait to see Starset again. Take Care.
theres a difference from video quality and keeping pitch. i love starset, but his voice was digitalized and fixed a lot in the studio. His voice is on pitch and a lot deeper in the album. live, that proves different.

He is fantastic live, when he is not using the auto-tune mic-thingie. I won a lunch, and meet and greet with them, and they did a private acoustic version of carnivore. and it was the best thing i ever heard. i've seen them live 3 times now :3

Zoltan Bagdal they play through the album in a particular order and these songs are late into the album I think so Dustin (lead vocalist) has probably been singing some pretty demanding vocals for like half an hour, he'd be tired and sore I'd imagine, on the flip side the guitarist sings back up on occasion, his voice is probably more preserved in a way. They do sound much better now although you'll never get a good quality live recording until they actually record a live performance with proper equipment rather that a random person in a crowd with a smart phone
