- Therapist's reaction to Tick Tick Boom. Tick Tick Boom is a Netflix film based on the life of Johnathan Larson and his show of the same name. With a song called Therapy in the film, I thought nothing better than to give my genuine reaction to watching and hearing the song for the first time.

Your analysis is so interesting! The show he's trying to write in this scene was sci-fi / fantasy, and the biggest note he got after the workshop was to "try writing what he knows." They said the same thing you do: he needs to actually feel his feelings and put those on the page, and then he might write something good (which he did, in spades).
I hope you've watched the whole movie by now. Its pretty amazing. Regarding its based on the actual broadway show from the composer who wrote "Rent" and passed away before he had the chance to see his success.

I'm so disappointed that you didn't point out how when the girl was talking and being realistic he turned his back which signals he knows she right about what she saying and he got no defense to that.
