    Barn Swallows are great birds and clean up lots of flies and other insects. I understand it gets to be a nuisance in your barn. They are just having harder and harder times finding nesting sites. Im glad you found a way to deal with them without harming them.

      I’m doing this because I’ve found about 2 dozen dead baby birds in my barn this year. I’m over cleaning up maggot filled baby bird bodies

    OMGosh I have the exact same problem and it’s such hard work getting the netting to fit around things. Great job.

    This is GOLDEN!!!!! I have been fighting starling birds for a few years, they live in the soffit, and there's bird crap everywhere. However, I'll wait til fall when most of them leave, I'm not that mean :)Thank you so much for the idea and video! I just ordered a roll of the netting (from your link, everything else we already have) THANK YOU !! THANK YOU!!

    Are you still happy with the outcome a year later ?
    I'm having bird issues in a livestock barn, and considering this solution, wonder how it is working out for you over timed. Thanks!

      Yes absolutely. Only complaint is some dust buildup on the netting. Also I’m lazy and technically never finished nailing up the sides. But, no birds. 0. Since installing the netting.

    My barn is for cars only, so it's not open unless I'm in there. When the birds fly in, I start yelling at them and the leave. I look like a nut case, but it seems to work.😂
    BTW, consider renting a scissor lift. My knees won't handle a ladder, but I wired my barn last year and the lift made life easy.

    Come to my barn holy crap! My barn is metal and the frame is metal and then there was to go around the bottom of the roof a trim and so on the inside the birds get in it's about 3 inches wide and they build it in there and I can't get my hand in there I pulled some of the nesting material out with like long pliers but I need a wire coat hanger! And frankly they're sparrows I could give two shits if there's eggs in there there are goddamn nuisance..!!! I've also sprayed in those nooks and crannies pepper spray I've stuffed noodles in their pool noodles that is I use expanding foam and the little sons of bitches pick it out heinous

      Overall the results have been very good. It’s past nesting season at this point and there are no birds in the barn. There were a couple issues I fixed after making the original video but nothing major. I’ll make a follow up video soon.

    I don't think all that netting will work on my front and back porch. I'll keep this in mind though if they get into our barn.

    So, this is the only thing I've NOT tried and more than willing. Has it worked for you?

    • @morstoneacres
      @morstoneacres  5 месяцев назад

      Yes. This year we had no birds. Zero. After the first year they stopped trying because there was no place to nest.

    You said quarter inch mesh, but seems like only 1/2 inch is available. Did you mean half-inch mesh?
