My Dad had this hymn played at his funeral today. Came here to hear the Killer's version and settle my soul. Dad and Jerry Lee were both men of God yet walked on seperate highways. I hope they both forever Rest in Peace.
I can tell you Jerry Lee made it to heaven, because God had me to tell him he would be waiting for him with open arms, and that he would have the grandest grand piano he had ever seen waiting for him!!! I was not a Jerry Lee Lewis fan, but articles about him started popping up on RUclips. I watched and listened to him and came to see that God wanted me to see how much Jerry Lee loved him. I repented for having been so wrong about him! It was after this that God instructed me to send him a word of knowledge from him! I earnestly prayed for him all this time! I was honored by God to try to ease his hurting heart. I mailed it to his ranch address. I don’t know if he received it or not, but I do know God wanted his mind to be at rest in his last days. I can’t wait to meet him, see that most special piano that was waiting for him, and to spend some time talking to him!!!

I prefer Elvis's version, but considering this is just Jerry Lee, his pee-yanny and a drummer, and nothing else . had a whole ensemble, plus a bunch of Black chicks who were steeped in Gospel, plus others with a range of voices, including the skinny White guy with the jug ears(?) who had the most incredible bass anyone's ever heard. Elvis also had his own amazing voice, so add them all up, and that's why I prefer it. Great job from Jerry Lee, though.
