    I was on 767s for 16 years... Never was told that the raised spoiler dropped automatically when slide is blown.. We never thought to ask about that in a landing either!

    The 777 uses the same except the slide turns to the sides instead of aft

    I heard a rumor 757 used a tiny explosive charge on the spoiler actuator for slide deployment. What does this use?

      Yes... the 767 has a charge that forces the spoiler actuator down. The 757 you mention does not... as it has no overwing escape exit.

      dhusband this is not true, a lot of 757 have over wing exits
