Tom's vocals use the BM Fry Scream technique with Arytenoid distortion. For Low he used the Arytepi used in slam bands to create clicky, rough & dirty vocals. That's why many people don't like his vocals, and he is quite unique in deathcore but not when he is in SBDM. I personally like his vocals because I like slam & BM.
I'm not the typical slam guy, so I feel it's just so unique from a metalcore kid like myself haha. One of my fav vocalist for sure

I used to like Northlane but with Adrian. I like how Marcus sounds but I'm not too fond of him in Northlane. Volumes, Northlane and Periphery were heavy in my rotation circa 2012

Thanks for asking about his upside down playing! Interesting answer and explanation how playing that way produces a different sound. Maybe one of the reasons why playing some songs live isn't as simple as people might think. And yes if they do a live show I would absolutely want to see Josh chugging on his ridiculous upside down 9 string!
