Love it Karl. You have an amazing work ethic & also you are a happy man which makes viewing a whole lot nicer. All the best Mate. Billy J..... Queensland, Australia.
Thanks for sharing, if you build tools they will work. The lathe was the first machine tool and all others were probably made on a lathe . A must if you work with metal.
Boy , do I vividly remember getting smacked in the back of the head by the metalshop teacher each time I took my hands of the chuck key and left it in there. ( although it was only for a brief moment , just measuring or whatever.). I see you doing the same thing and the hairs on my arm stand up. 😁
Went you said something simple and only take 20 minutes. I wasn’t committed but I saw your vision as you built it. Oh yah he’s on point now. Great project. Thanks for sharing.
Karl you are an innovator so you can make your life a little easier, and that is the name of the game “ innovation”!! Love your content as always ❤️❤️👍
Looks excellent, not bad just off the bat, sometimes I will start something, then you run out of time to finish, have to come back later, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Ive been (im)patiently waiting for this to drop for days!! And as expected, you never fail to entertain and fill that need. Love your content and am now waiting for the next one!
What a badass tool. Lathe work has always interested me. It’s about the only machine that can basically make itself. You’re truly an inspiration. Thanks for such awesome content.
Great design for the circle cutter. You do fantastic work, your instructions are clear, and you make it look easy. The circle cutter sure makes it easy to cut ends for levers, and as you have shown, for making the heads for the shaping hammers. I just about had a heart attack, when I saw where your dial indicator was resting well inside the arc of the jaws of the lathe chuck. I wasn't able to breathe until you swung it back out of the way.
I have been trying to figure out how to cut bottom anvils for an English wheel on my lathe for ages. The videos i have watched previously have left me scratching my head but this was so simple and clear. The light has come on in my head and i shall create with confidence. Thanks Karl! Another Aussie in awe of your abilities 🇦🇺 😊
Hey Carl, A word of caution for when using the lathe. "NEVER" grab the cuttings to remove them when the machine is cutting ! Those cuttings are super sharp ! A few years ago a friend grabbed some from his lathe while it was running. The part being turned grabbed the cuttings as you did on camera, they shredded his finger and thumb pads. He was lucky only skin and tiny bits of the meat below was removed. Still, years later he has minimal feeling in those pads. I think it is great that we can use a tool like a lathe to make tool to use on the lathe. A Bridgeport or other brand mill is another tool that can do that as well as many of the tools we use in our shops. Thank you for bringing us the great videos you make. Work Safe, Be Well Stay Warm
Wow,all I can say is WOW, what a great idea for a radius tool,I think it's great how your mind works and you freely show how you build the tool, keep on doing what you do 🏁
Man that's pretty sweet. Great job. There's all kinds of over complicated ones on RUclips. This one is super simple. Thank-you for the awesome content. Also that's a pretty sweet car.
Hey Karl great video as always such a brilliant tool well done them hammers look amazing too keep up the great work love the channel and what you do totally awesome 👍♥️
Hey Karl Super well thought out, I have a Boxford lathe, the top slide, mounted in the same way, have been thinking about a solution for a ball turner, so great that you come up with the solution. So many thanks, also for your other cool videos.👍
Morning Karl, I've been around a machine shop settings since the early 1980's, I've seen a radius tool for the lathe, it worked on the same principal as your's, for such a small lathe, you do alot....great video!! Be safe!! God Bless!!
Well done Karl! Gotta build me one of those for my Atlas, it’s cross slide is almost identical to yours. Your talents continue to impress me, thanks for sharing your ideas!
All that work for making your own hammers! Thats like roasting peanuts, cooking caramel, baking a cookie and melting chocolate just to prepare your own snickers 😊 Awesome commitment! Adorable work. Love it.
I enjoy your machining videos... Makes me want to go out and fire up my Gunmaster 17-32 Combo mill/ lathe and make something. That little Chinese lathe has been a fun tool in my Fab Shop for decades. This radius tool could have a lot of possibilities for it.
My metal lathe is getting delivered this week and this is exactly the kind of tooling I've been trying to describe to my friend that rebuilds this kind of machinery. Thank you so much for posting this video Karl it will be a big help. I see you get plenty of use out of your Evolution metal saw that tool is a lifesaver. Keep up the good work brother.
Love it dude. Im halfway through building a shed at the moment, lathe under cover outside, mates possibly selling me his mill, super pumped to get back to making stuff! Video is top quality as always, no faff, no waffle, just to it and a great mix of getting by and using the right tool for the job. Really appreciate it. There isn't a huge custom scene (to my taste) where i am so i hope to build a few bikes and change that if i can! Nice one fella. Love your style.
I have been wanting make ball/ radius turner for while now but haven't found the one I like, until now. This exactly what I've been looking for. Watching your vids is not only skill expanding but it is a hell of a lot of fun. Like so many others I look forward to your content and appreciate all your effort thank you and God bless.
Great tooling Karl, Many have learned something new today. Sure does look like it would make life a little more relaxing and the tooling process and little easier. Many thanks.
I started making one in the beginning of my lathe ownership, and stalled. I used a ball bearing, but hit a wall. Cant remember what the issue was, but im thinking i will revisit it after watching this video. My lathe is only 9” swing, and had issue with height. You may have helped me solve it. Thanks Karl!
I literally needed to make one of these and was hadn’t got round to sketching one out so you’ve saved me a job and it looks like it works awesome. Keep up the great work 👌🏼
Hi Karl from Shearstown Newfoundland, I’m a retired ford master tech who now builds and restores car and trucks , I was wondering when your going to get back at the Cadillac build , I’m currently working on a customers car that we may chop and I like what you were doing on that project, thanks and keep up the great videos and I liked what you were doing with your build , thanks and keep up the great videos
sweet! You should get some wood burning or something to burn Make It Kustom onto the handle of your hammers, Karl! That was some brilliant engineering! Hope more people pay the 5 dollars to support your channel and become members! Thanks for sharing your skills, brother!
This tool is one of the reasons the lathe is the mother of all machine tools, very well done!
I love your videos please keep them coming 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Love it Karl. You have an amazing work ethic & also you are a happy man which makes viewing a whole lot nicer. All the best Mate. Billy J..... Queensland, Australia.

It's always a good time watching you work your magic.
You have a lot of great ideals for tools and machine shop devices. I believe you could easily support yourself making tools and selling them.

Very cool on the radius tool.
Now to learn how to mill a ball sphere on the mill with using a boring head and spin fixture.
More old school learning.
Simple ideas are the best ones!
I love your channel just to see the tools you make for your tools.

Perfect timing! I'm in the process of rebuilding a 10×54 Atlas
Great idea Karl, I’ve been looking for an less complicated version to make for my lathe. Thanks!

I now have to make one. Inside and outside radii. Very cool and innovative as would be expected from you. Thanks
