To me, that second part of "Lucky" after the break (between 29:30 and 30:30), is by far the best one minute of music and singing in the entire history of pop music! It gives me chills every time I hear it.

Watching this again because you had forgotten about "Under Stars," and I wanted to see your reaction again. I will never not be amazed by this concert. Absolutely insane.
Aurora has an amazing, multi faceted personality to go with her immense talents. She is wise. intelligent, quirky, very funny, genuine, honest and intent on bringing important issues to people's attention. She can also be quite risque at times and it is something of a shock when you see and hear someone who looks so demure and innocent swear but that is just part of her astounding charisma. When you finally get to the HAIK show you will see her personality in more detail and the concert at the end will convince you that magic is real.
I have always been so obsessed with this concert, i’ve probably given it half of the views it has. I always have tears when watching it. Not only because of how incredibly perfect the whole thing is, but also because of how beautiful she looks up there. I’m obsessed.
You'd really need to watch the one where they're in the forest. Infections of a different kind and the last song (edit: daydreamers) are real tearjerkers imo. When they brought in the bass boys for The Seed, that was amazing. Gentle earthquake is hands down my #1 pick. The kexp live radio version.

Had you heard little boy in the grass prior to this concert? If not, I suggest you look up the meaning behind the lyrics about it. So powerful. Thanks for doing what you do.
Warning: the topic is very distressing, especially for parents. Just want to make sure you know that ahead of time. That said, the Mahogany Session of this song is amazing. The lyrics and emotional performance make me cry every time. :(
Great reaction, Tuesdays are my favorite day of the week now lol. This performance of Lucky is one of my all time favorite performances from her. Just beautiful.
This concert was on Nov 2nd 2017, and recorded by Norwegian national tv NRK and aired on Dec 28th. There were ~1100 tickets that was sold out in ~10 min according to one article, and 4 min according to another article. "Nidarosdomen" means Nidaros Cathedral and it is located in the city of Trondheim, and Nidaros is the old name of Trondheim. When the church and cultural festival in Trondheim "Olavsfestdagene" booked the cathedral for the concert, the church administration actually denied the application because they thought the concert did not meet the criteria for what can be allowed in the church. In the parish council's guidelines for approving, it is stated that events in the church should provide room for wonder, faith and hope. They apparently never listened to Aurora's music... Even a local rock band called "Motorpsycho" had been allowed to play there. The festival appealed the case to the parish council, and it was unanimously approved. The song "Walking In The Air" is actually a cover, it was written by Howard Blake and is from the British cartoon "The Snowman" from 1982 that is/was aired at Christmas in many countries. The song "Little Boy In The Grass" sounds almost upbeat here, but it is a very sad song, I highly recommend watching the 2015 live version from Mahogany Sessions privately, it is very sad but beautiful. The song is about getting over the loss after the tragic massacre in Norway in 2011 where 77 people lost their lives and most of them children on the island of Utøya. Aurora actually lost a friend/boyfriend on the island: Aurora: And then I had someone I was very close to who died on Utøya. A boy I was in love with. He was wonderful. - Were you his girlfriend? Aurora: We were probably that, even though I was very young then. I was 15 when he passed away. He was 17. "Little Boy In the Grass" was on the EP "Running With The Wolves" in May 2015 before her first album. On the EP there was also RWTW, Runaway and "In Boxes" which you probably haven't heard yet. "Under Stars" was one the singles she released even before that first EP on Dec 2nd 2014. There are 2 other singles from that time you haven't heard: Puppet and Awakening.

This concert is just as magical every time I see it and I thoroughly enjoy watching you react to it the first time. It's like this concert is outside time and space. An ethereal plane we can gather to get a breather away from it all. ❤
Very cool reaction. I just finishing part 1 :). This performance is magical and I incredible enjoying watching it every time :). The whole concert is just pure magic. Beautiful, emotional songs amazingly singed by Aurora (this voice!) + orchestra + cathedral, candles etc :). Amazing.

This is a fun way to unwind after a pretty hectic day at work....so thanks for the good vibes. :D I like your Aurora reactions in particular because you have a really good ear...you notice things many people simply miss and you actually pay attention and don't get distracted every 5 seconds. It makes for a cool experience for us! I do love how you were like _"I need to hear what she says here"_ after Under Stars, only to have Aurora be like, _"Um, so when I woke up today.....I was sweaty. Yep."_ I love her sense of humor....it's often more than a bit dry or ironic, and often has a slight trickster vibe going on. And I thoroughly love it lol...
I just want to say thank you for this beautiful reaction. It gave me such a wonderful peaceful tuesday evening in a very stressful time which i am currently in. So yeah, thank you very much ❤
This masterpiece of a concert never fails to bring tears of joy. I too am jealous of those who were there. I did get to see her last year, when she was on tour. Her stream of consciousness comments are always exceptional. Bumping into her 9 hours before the gig was 10 minutes of priceless experience. She is so different, in her way of seeing everything. A life changing experience.
Aurora performed Nature Boy (Nat King Cole) for one of the Trailers for the movie “Alien Covernant”. Aside from Moulin Rouge it has been covered by Celina Dione. Thanks For Part 1 …
Hi Ashlena ! Wow, thank you so much for reacting to that mastgerpoiece of a concert... I want to give you some short information about every song : 1) Nature boy : A classic and often covered jazzy song by Nat King Cole from the late 40s 2) Little boy in the grass : She wrote this song with 15, after the so-called Utoya massacre in Norway, where a guy called Breivik shot 77 people randomly, mostly children and young adults... and this little boy in the grass, that Aurora is singing about, and whom she was friends with, was one of those victims 3) Under stars : She wrote it with 17 and she said : “It’s about us. About the people we’ve lost through time, and how we handle that loss. The guilt of still being alive when they are not, and the hope that they might only be sleeping, maybe still dreaming, under the stars." 4) Winter bird : A song about being stuck in life routines, everyday procedures and work, this is a song about not forgetting to really ENJOY life and also do the things you really LOVE to do. 5) Walking in the air : A cover of a Christmas song by Howard Blake from the soundtrack album to the animated Christmas movie "The snowman" 6) Lucky : Written at the age of 9 years, this song is considered her "anti-suicide-song". No matter what bad things ypoui have been going through in life already, there is always light at the end of the tunnel... there are better times ahead, just be strong and keep going. A fascinating statement for a 9 year old girl, in my opinion. 7) Runaway : Written by Aurora with 11 years, it's about having the wish for sometimes escaping from everything, but then realising that she belongs and finally wants to be back home. 8) Soft universe : This song possibly discusses the pain of living in the world and suggests that this pain can be alleviated with the love of someone else who can make a hard and unforgiving world into a “soft” and lovely one, but this depends on the person who listens to the song, as AURORA has stated that the songs from this albubm can have different meanings to everyone, depending on how deep you dive into them. 9) Through the eyes of a child : Aurora felt that as an adult, you often only see the bad things on earth and there are moments where she would rather be a child again and see / feel the world through the eyes / skin of a child, because as a child, everything you see and feel is pure, innocent and peaceful. 10) It happened quite : A song about domestic violence and abuse, described with a strong imagery and told "through the flower" (if you know what I mean) 11) Murder song /(5,4,3,2,1) : A song about mercy killing, inspired by a local newspaper article, that Aurora read, in which a man killed his wife, because he could not stand it anymore, seeing her wife suffering from a severe and probably incurabkle disease... Aurora tells this story - in a very impressive way - from the view of the victim. 12) Life on Mars : A hauntingly beautiful cover of the David Bowie classic from 1974 I really enjoyed experiencing this whole concert with you and want to thank you for taking me (and all the other subscribers) with you on that journey. Best wishes : Gerry PS : I will comment again under Part 2
What an amazing concert this is ❤️ Glad you can take in Auroras heavenly music ❤️ That performance of Lucky is freakin epic ❤️ And the performance of Trough the eyes of a Child in that venue is a masterpiece 👍 Looking forward to part 2 👍 Cool that you react to my 2 favorites, Angelina and Aurora, and they are both from my country, Norway which is cool 👍
@@jonathanwetherell3609 I have heard 2 performances from her which was brilliant 👍 She is very talented ❤️ To me, there is something special about AJ and Aurora which I dont seem to get with others, when they perform, they connect with my heart and soul, and I get emotional listening ❤️ But Diana has a very unique voice which I think is awesome 👍 So many artists sound alike, and I love that some artists are so easy to recognise 👍❤️ It gives them a unique quality 👍
Excellent! :D I was juuust about to go to bed, and then I saw you dropped this. Been looking forward to this one ever since you announced it. But....I have to be up in 6 hours to get ready for work, so this will have to wait. Can't wait to hit play after I get home from work! I already know this one is gonna blow your mind, because how could it not?
This is my favourite concert of all time. And one of the biggest regrets in my life I didn’t attend… (I considered, but for some reason kids and life just was…) Nidarosdomen is the worlds northernmost medieval cathedral. Today the national sanctuary of Norway, then the northernmost power centre of the Catholic Church. Just beside the cathedral is the (then) archbishop’s palace. Today the cathedral is still used as everyday church and it is the northernmost pilgrimage of catholics (because it’s the burial place for saint Olav). And it’s a majestic venue for concerts - I’ve attended many, from organ concerts (it’s one of the largest in Europe) to a crazy and experimental concert by Bobby McFerrin. In summer there’s also many concerts in the courtyard of the archbishop’s palace. The strings in the concert are the Trondheim Soloists - several times Grammy nominees…
@@ashlenamusic thanks, but I got to see Aurora in the concert hall (not Nidarosdomen this time) in Trondheim last November - it was really good. (Just had to get to the point of realising that I can go to concerts all by myself 😂)
THANK YOU! I LOVE this concert, and don't worrie for getting emotional, I still do after over 200 times watching it. For me the key word in the song Lucky is: I ''FEEL'' the light, all other talks about seeing the lignt, what a deep deference when you feel the light.
Magnificent concert, gloriously opened, is it not? That said, to kill for a concert, in a cathedral? God forbids, I guess...🙂 Even if I already know it, I still can't believe how "Under Stars" is powerful live compared to the studio version. It's one of the rare songs that has real effect on my guts and my throat. For those who don't know it, you included, here you are: Aurora - Nature Boy (acapella) - Melkweg-Amsterdam-The Netherlands 2018-02-28: ruclips.net/video/1-LtCbPUoTM/видео.html Amazing artist, really. Thanks for the reaction to Aurora, this living musical Dream.
Thank you for reacting to the entire Nidarosdomen Aurora concert!! When you get to her performing her most recent album (TGWCT) on tour, please have a listen/look at this one from 13 August 2022 in Oslo. Although her between song banter is in Norwegian (for the most part) the presentation, dancers and the singing is just top notch!! This is the 2022 Oyafestival. MAKE SURE to copy the link titles as they are listed here with the punctuation! The first video gives an audience view of the opening song ... but, with talking. Switch to video two at the one-minute forty-five-second mark. Then, there are videos three and four. Near the end of 'A Different Kind of Human' an audience member can be heard in distress - Aurora stops the band and signals for help, then leads the audience in a sing along. I'm curious what your favorite song in this concert was!? Under Stars, Little Boy in the Grass, Winter Bird, and Lucky are mine....but if I had to pick just one, definitely Lucky. I adore that one string player's face during the intro...he's looking at her with such _admiration_ and awe and curiosity. Can't say I blame him. Also...it's subtle, but listen to the choir when the bridge section starts, when Aurora sings _"I...I don't know who I am, where I'm going..."_ They're doing this super interesting harmonic counterpoint underneath Aurora that is so beautifully emotive it honestly breaks my heart.
Would have nice to turn on the subtitles for this....there are vids of this concert with subs to understand what she is saying Ashlena....she is quite brilliant. Loved this and your reaction....have viewed this several times...spectacular concert in the Ancient cathedral, Aurora's ethereal voice, the orchestra, the choir, her band and of course the cinematography is all unbelievable. Thanks for sharing.
your pronunciation of 'niderosdomen' is very ok. i like tuesdays. hadn't had time to respond with a comment, but now. i like, that you heard the 'wired sound' in 'under stars'. this bugs so much, that i hesitate to recommend that song from this concert. there are more engaged concert versions of this song. i hope, you will discover them at upcoming tuesdays. by any chance: please react to 'awakening' from her first tv appearance (2014). her presence is not developed yet but you can see her potential. oh, and there is also a documentary 'once aurora' with a separate discussion with her about the documentary. the documentary was made by some of her friends and highlights the early steps in her career.
Dear Ashley, came to you chanel throu Emily/LP but whan noticed you also seen Aurora... I am here in this coment section. Beside I am do looking forward new LP album, Aurora is special for me... She is so amazing and since you did 100+ reaction vids on her, 😂 wtf, she is for you. If am not wrong she writes and composes 99% of her music but Snowman for example. Snowman is the piece you mentioned It is like movie music and it is exactely this 😅 it is Norwegian fairytale/movie from 80' IMHO and is nationaly broad known and loved. It is something special and the original vocals was by about 10/12 yrs boy?! I am going to place the link here... not to pontificate anybody (what mine coment might look like, but I am not English speaker/native) but becouse its awesome. Aurora do the excelent job as always, but you might be concerned in diging this one piece... 😊😉
I was wondering if you were going to show emotion and you did on Lucky. I was teared up way before that! Aurora turns be into such an emotional idiot! Not a good look for an older guy.
She has a beautiful voice, but it isn’t for me, probably for the same reason Demash it totally out for me, I think it’s because there is no melodic quality. If you listen to National King Cole sing “There Was a Boy” it’s full of the melodic quality I’m looking for!
@@ashlenamusic Without melodic flow it’s just a series of sounds, but the artistry of music must have that flow to communicate with the listener. That’s why I love Duke Ellington and Miles Davis, even without words, when you hear them play you believe you hear the words to the songs they played, even John Coltrane who was way out in the stratosphere had a melodic flow to his music, same with Nina Simone and Billie Holiday, but the master was Ella Fitzgerald who could turn any song into a masterpiece even if she didn’t sing any words.
@@nfpnone8248jazz is a very different style than aurora 🤷♀️ i love ella fitzgerald and louis armstrong...i also love aurora...very different but no less moving...
Little boy in the grass is about her best friend who was one of the victims of a terrorism act which makes the song even more heartbreaking
Aww so sad :(
If it wasn't for Aurora Tuesdays, I'd probably never know what day it is. 😂🤦♀

Wow!
"Walking in the air" sound like movie music, because it is a cover of the song from "The Snowman" movie.
That makes sense
Walking in the Air actually is movie music, from a short childrens movie from 1982 called The Snowman
the high note in that song has me in a chokehold
To me, that second part of "Lucky" after the break (between 29:30 and 30:30), is by far the best one minute of music and singing in the entire history of pop music! It gives me chills every time I hear it.
So good

@@ashlenamusic LillM will watch this concert a kazillion times, lol, so will I .... 😍😍

I am beyond jealous of everyone in that audience. I can’t wait for her to come to Toronto. I will do anything to go see her.
Aurora performed Nature Boy (Nat King Cole) for one of the Trailers for the movie “Alien Covernant”. Aside from Moulin Rouge it has been covered by Celina Dione. Thanks For Part 1 …
Part 2 is also live!
Hi Ashlena ! Wow, thank you so much for reacting to that mastgerpoiece of a concert...
I want to give you some short information about every song :
1) Nature boy : A classic and often covered jazzy song by Nat King Cole from the late 40s
2) Little boy in the grass : She wrote this song with 15, after the so-called Utoya massacre in Norway, where a guy called Breivik shot 77 people randomly, mostly children and young adults... and this little boy in the grass, that Aurora is singing about, and whom she was friends with, was one of those victims
3) Under stars : She wrote it with 17 and she said : “It’s about us. About the people we’ve lost through time, and how we handle that loss. The guilt of still being alive when they are not, and the hope that they might only be sleeping, maybe still dreaming, under the stars."
4) Winter bird : A song about being stuck in life routines, everyday procedures and work, this is a song about not forgetting to really ENJOY life and also do the things you really LOVE to do.
5) Walking in the air : A cover of a Christmas song by Howard Blake from the soundtrack album to the animated Christmas movie "The snowman"
6) Lucky : Written at the age of 9 years, this song is considered her "anti-suicide-song".
10) It happened quite : A song about domestic violence and abuse, described with a strong imagery and told "through the flower" (if you know what I mean)
11) Murder song /(5,4,3,2,1) : A song about mercy killing, inspired by a local newspaper article, that Aurora read, in which a man killed his wife, because he could not stand it anymore, seeing her wife suffering from a severe and probably incurabkle disease... Aurora tells this story - in a very impressive way - from the view of the victim.
12) Life on Mars : A hauntingly beautiful cover of the David Bowie classic from 1974
I really enjoyed experiencing this whole concert with you and want to thank you for taking me (and all the other subscribers) with you on that journey.
Best wishes : Gerry
PS : I will comment again under Part 2
69 people were shot on Utøya, the other ones died in an explosion in Oslo city🥺❤️
Thank you for this Gerry!
@@lillm6874 Thanks for correcting me
What an amazing concert this is ❤️ Glad you can take in Auroras heavenly music ❤️ That performance of Lucky is freakin epic ❤️ And the performance of Trough the eyes of a Child in that venue is a masterpiece 👍 Looking forward to part 2 👍 Cool that you react to my 2 favorites, Angelina and Aurora, and they are both from my country, Norway which is cool 👍
Part 2 is up!
Is it something in the water? I need regular doses of both. Have you heard the Russian, Diana Ankudinova?
@@jonathanwetherell3609 I have heard 2 performances from her which was brilliant 👍 She is very talented ❤️ To me, there is something special about AJ and Aurora which I dont seem to get with others, when they perform, they connect with my heart and soul, and I get emotional listening ❤️ But Diana has a very unique voice which I think is awesome 👍 So many artists sound alike, and I love that some artists are so easy to recognise 👍❤️ It gives them a unique quality 👍
Excellent! :D
I was juuust about to go to bed, and then I saw you dropped this.
Been looking forward to this one ever since you announced it. But....I have to be up in 6 hours to get ready for work, so this will have to wait. Can't wait to hit play after I get home from work! I already know this one is gonna blow your mind, because how could it not?
Looking forward to your comments!
You have to react to her Haik concert!!! It’s beautiful as well
I will!
❤❤❤ top stuff Ash stay safe x
You too doll xx

This is my favourite concert of all time. And one of the biggest regrets in my life I didn’t attend… (I considered, but for some reason kids and life just was…)
Nidarosdomen is the worlds northernmost medieval cathedral.
Damn kids 😂 just kidding. I’m sorry you didn’t get to attend.
@@ashlenamusic thanks, but I got to see Aurora in the concert hall (not Nidarosdomen this time) in Trondheim last November - it was really good. (Just had to get to the point of realising that I can go to concerts all by myself 😂)
I saw her live and I will never forget that experience. It was magical and extraordinary !
So lucky
THANK YOU! I LOVE this concert, and don't worrie for getting emotional, I still do after over 200 times watching it. For me the key word in the song Lucky is: I ''FEEL'' the light, all other talks about seeing the lignt, what a deep deference when you feel the light.
Such a good song
Magnificent concert, gloriously opened, is it not? That said, to kill for a concert, in a cathedral? God forbids, I guess...🙂
Even if I already know it, I still can't believe how "Under Stars" is powerful live compared to the studio version. It's one of the rare songs that has real effect on my guts and my throat.
For those who don't know it, you included, here you are:

Amazing artist, really. Thanks for the reaction to Aurora, this living musical Dream.
Of course I looove her

Lucky made me a little emotional but hearing nature boy made me so happy. I didn’t realize it was on her deluxe album so I never reacted to it
Would have nice to turn on the subtitles for this....there are vids of this concert with subs to understand what she is saying Ashlena....she is quite brilliant. Loved this and your reaction....have viewed this several times...spectacular concert in the Ancient cathedral, Aurora's ethereal voice, the orchestra, the choir, her band and of course the cinematography is all unbelievable. Thanks for sharing.
I had the subtitles on they just don’t show up in the video so I knew what she was saying.
your pronunciation of 'niderosdomen' is very ok. i like tuesdays. hadn't had time to respond with a comment, but now. i like, that you heard the 'wired sound' in 'under stars'. this bugs so much, that i hesitate to recommend that song from this concert. there are more engaged concert versions of this song. i hope, you will discover them at upcoming tuesdays. by any chance: please react to 'awakening' from her first tv appearance (2014). her presence is not developed yet but you can see her potential.
oh, and there is also a documentary 'once aurora' with a separate discussion with her about the documentary. the documentary was made by some of her friends and highlights the early steps in her career.
Thank you for commenting and I’m glad you like Tuesdays! I will definitely be checking out a bunch of her live performances
"Walking in The Air" is from an animated beautiful film called "The Snowman"

Good to know!
i think you did a stellar job in this reaction. I would suggest better isolation of YOUR microphone from your desk, Please..
This is an older video so hopefully my mic sounds better now
Dear Ashley, came to you chanel throu Emily/LP but whan noticed you also seen Aurora...

Hiii yes but Aurora fan. Found her through my channel and have been reacting to her ever since. Every single Tuesday 🥰
I forgot to like this video :o)
Xx
I was wondering if you were going to show emotion and you did on Lucky. I was teared up way before that! Aurora turns be into such an emotional idiot! Not a good look for an older guy.
She has a beautiful voice, but it isn’t for me, probably for the same reason Demash it totally out for me, I think it’s because there is no melodic quality. If you listen to National King Cole sing “There Was a Boy” it’s full of the melodic quality I’m looking for!
Can I ask what you mean about no melodic quality?
@@ashlenamusic
Without melodic flow it’s just a series of sounds, but the artistry of music must have that flow to communicate with the listener.
