  • Expert Grills probably isn't the grill of your dreams, but I wondered if you could cook an EXPENSIVE tomahawk ribeye on one of the cheapest grills from my local WalMart. At less than $20, this 17.5 inch Exper Grill Charcoal Grill fit in perfectly. So can you cook an expensive steak on a cheap grill and not ruin it? Watch and find out!
    No, this video is NOT sponsored by Expert Grill, but I was surprised at the kind of value you can get for the cost. This was actually a challenge by a viewer to see how it goes!

      @@GrillTopExperience idk if you got them where you live but cowboy steaks are my personal favourite steaks, juicy and small but perfect to have 2-3 and enjoy. Also thank's for the informative video's, really helps when deciding what grill to buy.

    The production and quality of this video is so good! It deserves more views!!! Good job. I’m wasn’t going to cook a steak on this grill but maybe I might try it.

      Thanks! It's a bit if the roll of the dice to see if YT will pick up the video or not. I appreciate the support. You can cook a steak in the grill, but it might take a couple tries to dial it in.

      Very true! I never would have thought you could get this much grill for twenty dollars. I cut my teeth on a cheap two burner and I felt like a king the day I bought it. I made many great steaks on it.

    I have this grill and I don't like it at all, it lets out so much smoke as if there is a fire in my back yard.

  • @RA-rf4nz
    @RA-rf4nz 3 года назад

    Even cheaper and shorter still is digging a small shallow hole in the ground and surround it with a few landscape rocks from your neighbor's yard ... no burn in necessary. :)

      On first read, I thought you were saying we should bury the grill. An open fire pit would make a great steak. I've done it and it was great, but everything tastes better when it is cold and you are camping.

    While a fun video... I would not reccomend going this cheap on a grill. Its too easy to screw something up, and you may need to babysit it which waste time. The steak is worth more than the grill, and if you screw up the steak, you prob just ruined a $50 steak. Plus, it prob only last 2 seasons or less, as the metal is thin and will burn through.

    • @GrillTopExperience

      I don't think it will last a long time either. I could have done the same cook without thinking on the Weber Kettle, but it was an interesting challenge. I've seen people make an "I got a new grill post" and this one is in the background. A nicer grill would be easier, but everyone is starting at different places.

      @@GrillTopExperience Yeah, my first grill wasn't good, I just didn't know any better but quickly found cooking on it wasn't very fun, and clean up sucked. It prob set me back from grilling 5 yrs till I upgraded.

      @@cartitheplotagon if you are making steak on a grill, you want the highest heat possible for searing. That will tire out a cheap grill very quickly. Making chicken or burgers will prob last a lot longer since you can get by with 300F-350F. That said, you'd be lucky to get 50 sessions before it wears down. However, the quality of cooking is somewhat low or inconsistent.
