Now that's a loyal caring son. He gave his dear old dad a ride to the train station. Cue the violins.
I felt so sorry for Jamie when he thought his sister and his dad were there to see him being recognized for running for governor. And then his dad shit right in his mouth when he is running instead of him. I mean, I understand, but I still felt sorry for him.
Anyone else think that the Dutton's are creating their own version of a Frankenstein monster with Jamie? Every episode she attacks him with the most vicious verbal and physical assaults imaginable with their father not supporting him in the least. Eventually he's going to be so broken down that he's not going to care about his life in the least to the point where getting revenge on them would probably be preferable to just living. There's nothing more dangerous than a desperate man except one with power & a vendetta.
Yeah I do have to agree with you but john also plays a part as well
It is speculated and heavily rumored that Jamie will kill Rip to destroy Beth's world and get his revenge. He doesn't care anymore after killing his father, and the only thing that will bring him any sort of resolve or peace to him.
Beth has spent years poisoning Jamie's mind with her spite and venom when in reality all he ever did was try to clean up the messes her abject lack of self-control created. Always frames herself as the victim and Jamie as the villain. And John is the guiltiest of them all, favoring Beth and overlooking her mistakes while constantly dumping on the person he shaped into the family's garbage disposal. TBH I feel sorry for Rip. He's in love with a viperous monster who ultimately deserves whatever comeuppance she gets. John lives in a prison of his own making.
He is the perfect machiavellic combination between lawyer and politician, add to it the family he came from: a biological father who murdered his mother and he forgave him for it even loved him, and a second family whom he betrayed no matter what you think. He has been a monster from the beginning, and that history Beth said about he been who sterilized her...oh come on!!. That guy has always been a monster.
@@beatrizhugo2006 he's a monster because she has zero self control and refuses to take accountability for her actions? He took her to the hospital where she had to agree to the procedure in order for it to have even taken place, obviously she agree of her own free will NOT Jamie, she's the perfect example of a monster who plays victim but in reality she's anything but
The look on Jamie’s face when he thought he would get the nod, only to hear John’s name was PRICELESS!!!
Beth should run for governor or any office, I don't think she'd have anybody bold enough to run against her. WOW 😳 that would be the bomb!!! Can't wait for the season to start!!!!♥️♥️🐄🐎🐎🐎🥰🥰
@@lorainelambert8548 she's a horrible candidate
They think they can just play in his face like that
And they wonder why they can’t keep Jamie in their pockets… Beth and John are downright stupid.
Me fully realizing half the trouble in this show regarding Jaime is literally Beth not taking partial accountability for her sterilization because of the situation she put herself in, then blaming Jaime for all of it. Not to mention John who doesn’t seem to care one bit about Jaime even though he has done some of the most important things to keep their family going, and he’s not even partially thankful for any of it. They are making Jaime into the villain then getting mad when he doesn’t do what they want. As much as I know Jaime makes a lot of dumb decisions, but a lot of the time they aren’t even completely his fault…
Jamie went along with the sterilization because Beth wouldn’t tell him who the father was, out of spite.
Not only does Taylor Sheridan deserve credit for this great script with the actors who interpret his words for a beautiful story. Come on season five!
Just cause people say they behind a story don't mean they are bunch of cover up lies!😠

Beth is blaming Jamie for her bad ideas
Again, I really hope John and Jamie make amends. I still can't understand why John, who demands his sons and daughter to prioritize family above anything else, doesn't see, or completely ignores that while Beth does everything for John himself, Jamie does do all he can for the family. The times Jamie's loyalty to his family wavered was because he's full of John's treatment.
Jamie walked away from the Dutton family for a man who got his mother addicted and then murdered her. Jamie took Beth’s ability to carry on the family. Jamie made himself an outcast then turned his back. That’s significant, regardless if he “does everything he can” for the family. To understand John you have to think like a cowboy godfather. You don’t go against family.
@@Mainecoonlady. Jaime hasn't gone against family, because he never tried to hurt Kayce, nor John, NOR Beth! He managed to prevent Yellowstone from getting sold. But John, who always demands from him loyalty without ever giving back to him love, and Beth, who keeps abusing him, ended up leading him to think that THEY betrayed him. Because that's John's problem! He demands people to be loyal to him and to view things as he does, but then doesn't stop one second to make them understand that he's doing what her really thinks is the best from them. He wants the best, for Jaime, but never tried to make him understand that without berating him. He forced him to go to law school, then forced him to be the family's lawyer, then forbid him to desire something else. He never allowed Jaime to ever feel free from his family. If you care about your family, you have to care about all its members, but John poses the question in the sense that if you are part of a family, you have to be loyal to it, period, not because instead if you want to be a family you have to love and support each other because otherwise you are not a family.
It’s the way the writers write the story
Because John knows what truly matters in this world "your family, your land and most of all your word" and if no one can trust you because you don't keep your word then there is no point in having the other 2 in your life
@@Mainecoonlady. exactly. Jamie isn’t fit to be doing what’s he’s doing. They can literally find/hire a new lawyer someone better than Jamie. Jamie has gotten on my last nerves for the past several seasons. Him and Beth, but at least Beth does what she does for the family. All the stuff Jamie pulled, especially being the main reason she can’t have children, he needs to go. He may have the Dutton name, but he’s not truly a Dutton by blood. If Jamie doesn’t get his shit together in S5, I hope Beth tells Rip the truth about what Jamie did, so he can tear his ass apart.
Wow...I am impressed by Wes Bentley. He's an amazing actor. I hope he gets the recognition he deserves. And more opportunities in the business so everybody can enjoy his craft.
he plays a great bad guy
He's been acting for over two decades. He's been in a lot of shows and movies.
Incredibly mediocre. It's amazing how average of an actor he is.
Thanks Wes. You're a horrible actor!
Jamie is annoying for never standing up to beth. beth’s annoying for thinking she’s daddy’s favorite jamie has done more for john them beth has.
Yep
She has done more though
Jamie and Beth have similar goals, Beth would never sell out while John lives, Jamie would break the ranch up at the drop of a hat.
Rip is his favorite
Jamie is a weak punk! He can't stand up to anything or anyone.
Jamie has made mistakes, but he has always done what John asked of him while John never gave him the love or appreciation he gives to Beth, Kayce or Tate. He indeed took Beth’s ability to give life, but she was always cruel to him, verbally and physically abusing him. I wouldn't be surprised if all this time Taylor Sheridan was building Jamie to be the ultimate downfall for the Duttons. He would be a sympathetic antagonist with more than enough justifiable motivations. And, only then, John would be truly put to the test.
Beth refuses to take any responsibility for the fact that she demanded that Jamie organise an abortion for her, without anyone else knowing about it. That limited his options to the res.
Beth wanted the abortion.
She could not have obtained it without either being sterilised, or her family being shamed if she went to any other clinic.
Jamie agreed with the sterilisation, because in his mind there was no other option.
I think it's about time Beth started taking responsibility for her own choices. Narcissists never take responsibility for their own actions.
Jamie is ultimately a coward and Beth is little more than a doxie with an unwarranted chip on her shoulder.
@@katykircher7413 Bingo. Beth refuses to take responsibility for *anything* she does. She is the absolute worst and so far the show has kept a significant amount of plot armor around her selfish toxicity. She's a picture of someone whose true talent in life is creating messes with their lack of self control and expecting someone else to clean them up, then scorning them anyway.
Ultimately the abortion debacle was John's fault (if he ha been more emotionally available to his children Beth would have come to him) and Beth's (she wasn't raped-heck, she all but forced herself on Rip initially), and deep down I think he knows that. But easier to just blame everything on the adopted child who was only ever tasked with trying to clean up your messes.
@@katykircher7413 bro she didnt know about them having to sterilize her he did and didnt tell her are you joking right now? thats heartless and terrible to take away someones chance and ability to have children. "in his mind there was no other option" that doesnt make it right at all. horribe logic, "its ok i murdered this person in my mind it was the only option" and the show clearly showed she was only ruthless and mean to him AFTER that day and rightfully so. He betrayed the family with the interview then murdered an innocent woman to cover it up. hes horrible. his impatiance and wanting more and more at the cost of those around him made him a bad person. he NEVER did the shit for the family FOR the family, only to advance his standing in the family and help himself. the fact you cant see it is wild to me. beth thought she WAS getting the abortion without being sterilized. i think your missing that key bit of information here and if you know thats what happen your heartless.
jaimie didnt do those things to help the family, he did those things to help his own standing in the family and his own position. he did those things for approval not love.
Such good acting by Wes Bentley (Jamie), in that last scene.
7:02 - 8:05 Best speech I've ever heard. It's real life.
Seeing how John and Beth treated Jaime makes me wish they lose it all. He did everything John told him and it wasnt enough. He spent his entire life looking for fatherly approval and never got it from John. If John did the bare minimum of caring for Jaime he wouldn't have run off to his biological father. 90% of John's problems in this series can be traced back to him being a bad parent.
I love how Jamie reacted when John got introduced as governor. He thought it was going to be him.
I’m glad you were able to catch that 😂
I would have but as this show goes on i feel sorry for jamie. Obviously he was the red headed stepchild and never really had his own identity.Beth is an evil manipulative b*tch and john made them sll like this.
@@pab1381 it's wasn't hard to see
As someone that has also done terrible things in my life, I can’t help but feel sympathy for Jamie. Although I don’t agree with some of the things he’s done, I understand why he did what did.

Seems in show the only one who truly sympathizes with him is Kayce, for that very reason. The S3 episode where Jamie loses it after John comes at him (for a 20 year old situation that ultimately was his own fault) and Kayce just holds his brother was telling. Beth has tried to convince Jamie that the entire family hates him and that's a lie. She hates him-probably hated him before the abortion if her attitude towards him in the flashbacks was any indication-and projects that hatred onto everyone around her.
You will feel better if you confess and turn yourself in.
and for jamie why didnt he realize he could have used the train station against Beth so he didn't have to kill Garret? Garret was a great character
Like she really knew where he was going to bury him. Lame.
What absolutely awesome acting by all. Thank you Taylor Sheridan for your amazing writing.
Safe to say Beth is the Villian in this series.
Not really sure why they wouldn't give Jamie a heads-up what they have planned, before the press conference.
To twist the knife in deeper no doubt.
It doesn’t make sense for Lynelle’s character to behave that way… I think it’s just done to give Jamie another kick in the face.
At 14mins 45 secs. So powerful. Applies to actual substance addiction and "emotional addiction" (greed of things or of circumstance/ lust/ impatience/ anger/ over demanding from our partners, and so much more) that many of us don't even realize we have, but we do. Our actions repeat it over and over again proving we are emotionally addicted to whatever our ailment is. We just haven't become willing enough to admit it...... yet. Great clip!!
That look on Beth's face when he says he's running for governor was Kelly Reilly acting at her finest. That look of shock/joy/opportunity needed a very subtle yet forceful. She pulled it off. Just another example of her acting skills demonstrating again what bullshit the Emmy awards are. I'll never understand how she didn't win for the episode when the thugs come to her office and she stands up to them despite their brutality.
Maybe because all of those award shows are complete bullshit that have next to nothing to do with what they claim to exist for?
I just think Jamie was bullied by his sister and ignored by his father during all the show for no reason. He was a good guy.
beths face should have told him everything he needed but i also get that jaimes emotional state is because of the disconnect he feels in his family so he was wary but also happy that john was there to support him then kablam
That was precious.
Wish John would marry Lanelle
My thoughts exactly
I think they might be bringing Summer back.
has anyone counted how many glasses of whiskey was thrown into that fireplace over the series? feels like a regular occurence

THIS. I always thought he was a rat or something but This is when I realized that Jaime's dad truly cared about him. He's never been told that and you could see it on his face
Kevin Kostner has done well in all his classics. and prob more to come? But he will have trouble beating "Yellowstone" That will be a tough one to beat in competition with "Yellowstone". Just love that show. Husband's fav.
There's really no question why Jamie goes against John with this impeachment business. Jamie sacrificed his dreams (being a cowboy and rancher) to please his father by becoming a lawyer and instead of showing him approval and love, he gives him mistreatment and contempt. Not to mention constantly standing in the way of the good he's trying to do for the family.
Too much power, nothing. Jamie used the AGs office to clean up the mess Kayce made shooting up the intersection and making sure John was protected in the hospital for months. Months! That's already a whole lot of power and he never let it go to his head.
I really hope Jamie takes down John and gets the better of Beth. He's taken so much abuse despite all of the good he's done while those two get off scot-free. It's their turn now...
Yellowstone, Justified and Longmire, god bless the new generation of westerns
Whatever happened to the idea that Kayce should be governor? They mentioned it once and just never followed up on it.
I just 💕 Beth!!
Tease, Tease...Almost time for S-5
If John is a real politician. He'll be a polarizing individual in the current American politics.
Recreation of SOA...just cowboy version!! I love it!!
Beth punishes herself while thinking she's punishing Jamie, she's never gonna heal from this
I just hate how they always keep doing jamie wrong. Rip might be their muscle but Jamie's the brain. Beth's sort of the mouth.
As I watch Yellowstone, I am starting to feel sorry for Jamie. Jamie has done quite a lot for Duttons as family lawyer, but John took it for granted, and he is quite generous for Beth and Kayce, but not for Jamie.
I never felt sorry for Jamie after what he did to Beth……until he was forced to shoot his own dad. He’s a broken man now and will never be the same. I have to pity him at least a little bit now.
@@hansenfiet2539 Beth did it to herself way back then, and Jamie took her to a place where she would not be recognized to protect her and Rip. If Jamie hadn’t done that, Rip very well could have rode the long black train.
I feel sorry for him as well..beth is cruel in her treatment of him. She put him into an impossible situation cause of her mistake..
@@hansenfiet2539 you mean what beth asked him to do?
It amazes me how many people view Jamie as a piece of shit. He literally gets gaslit into doing everything that John wants him to do and then gets spat on when he tries to do anything for himself. Whenever he gave that reporter all the dirt on John my whole family was like see?! He is a traitor, as if it wasnt warrented.
I might be the minority in all this, but Jamie doesn’t deserve half the hate he gets on this show. Like Beth hating him is fair for what he did to her, but John wanting to hate him just makes no sense to me. John is the one who forced Jamie to become a lawyer, and Jamie was at his dad’s side for a whole decade before Kayce and Beth came back. The only reason John brought them back is because he lost Lee and thought he was dying. I think did always plan on Jamie going into politics, it just happened faster than he expected, especially when John needed him. But Jamie is good at this and deserved a chance to pursue his future goals.
Jamie has been the kicking bag for the family for the longest time and yet he was the one who put up with John for the longest time .
Was Beth not responsible for any of her own choices?
Beth's hatred for him isn't even fair. She was in a situation of her own making, was nasty with Jamie even while asking for his help getting her out of it, and wants to blame him for the result. No she didn't ask for a hysterectomy. Well she didn't *not* ask for one either. What she asked for was for him to make the "problem" go away without anyone knowing and that's what he did.
Beth is a zero-accountability narcissist and I think the contempt Jamie gets from the rest of the family is largely fueled by her poisoning them all against him. And something tells me that didn't start *after* the abortion. She was a self-centered little snot beforehand.
He did nothing to her she made a choice she can't stand and blames her troubles on him cause that's what women do.
@@kish2187- she asked for help and went along with sterilization without telling her out of spite because she wouldn’t name the father.

I like Yellowstone, but there have been a couple retcons. Beth originally hated Jamie because she blamed him for their mother's death when they were kids. There's no mention of the abortion, sterilization, or Jamie being adopted until later seasons.
I still like the show, but there's no way that an abortion clinic would sterilize a patient without their consent in 2000, especially a teenager. I have to side with the ant Beth partisans on this issue. Beth's projection is just sick at this point.
Abortion took place in an indian reservation hospital where this indeed was common practice…

Damn you, Disney..
Why didn’t she go to her mom or dad when she was in trouble as a teenager, instead of her brother? She basically created her own problem!
I understand why beth didn't go to john because she was scared he would had seriously hurt rip as for her mother she was already dead at this point
Rip wasent the poster boy that he is now; if John found out he knocked up his daughter at such a young age he would be screwed.
I think (but I'm not sure) that Beth's mother was already dead when she got pregnant. In 1 episode Years later
Rip told John that the reason that people don't talk to him about problems is because they are afraid that they'll let him down. That also was the reason that Beth went to Jamie. Jamie was home and the others weren't.
@@madmom87 Jamie ultimately saved Rip's life back then. John in his anger and grief over the recent loss of his wife very likely would have killed Rip, who had yet to prove the worth he has by the point where the show begins.
What aggravates me is how cowed and cucked Beth has him to the point where he doesn't even stand up to her or point any of that out. Cowering on his knees? Letting her threaten him with a gun? In a Government building? The guy can have nerves of steel in the face of any other opponent, but she opens her mouth and he folds like a paper airplane. That's a lifetime of emotional manipulation for you.

It’s because the mom was abusing Jaime
Probably one of the saddest deaths in the series.
John if you don't let your kids make their own mistakes they'll never learn how not to be a monster but then again that's why you do what your doing
Now he has truly become a Dutton, this is the family business, throwing bodies into the abyss
can someone explain context … is john dutton supposed to do no wrong?
All said and done. They were the people they betrayed Jamie. I like the actors but the characters deserve consequence for betrayal.
Don't get the whole dad thing. How many dad's does Wes have?
I really feel for Jamie, but his biological father was the reason for everything bad in his life. Sure we can blame Beth for pushing him to pull the trigger, but ultimately his father wrote his own ending by arranging the assassinations of the Duttons. I hope Jamie won’t take a dark turn because there is good in him.
The series will end with him killing Beth. Or vice versa.
John's reaction, though it was scripted, is pretty accurate of a successful person in private life. Politics, in this country, has always been an episode of a monkey attempting to fvck a trombone.
In my opinion I prefer to remain neutral in this fight. Both sides have done decent amount of terrible things to each other and neither should get away with it without some sort of punishment. Jaime betrayed the family multiple times and showed no remorse while Beth and John’s abusive actions have jeopardized everything.
05:46......Mmmmm....just like Haman in the Book of Esther in The Holy Bible.......
Jamie is weak in all areas, not just with Beth. He is easily manipulated and controlled by everyone that gives him a small amount of push. He is too scary to lead.

Kevin plays this role so so well.
Beth is the son John should have had...
He did get that son. His name is Rip.
What a bad men is the Jimmy he just turn to be a evil men turn against his father.
the conflict of interest makes this for me unwatchable.
Jamie is spineless and self absorbed.. He only ever wants to save his own tail. Now he needs John more than ever.. we shall see what happens to Jamie. This is going to be interesting. I can't wait.
Self absorbed? He has done more for the ranch then any of the other "children" and yet he gets abused by everyone all the time
Jamie is a victim of the abuse he gets from John and Beth, he has continually cleaned up after them and helped them family yet it’s never good enough for John.
Well, she's interesting but it's a soap opera.
"You should have picked option one or two. Three's gonna be worse 'cause you're fucking mine now."
Actually, she made a big mistake right there. She robbed herself of a leverage, aka Jaime's father. That picture means nothing to a desperate man who got nothing to loose and who now has a serious grudge
Release the damn photo if you want Jaime should just say it's photoshopped.
I can't stand Beth! She's the reason I stopped watching. She blames Jamie for everything. She chose to have an abortion. John is actually a bad father! I wish Jamie would stand up for himself and leave this family alone
Yeah he's been my favorite candidate since the start
I really hate the whole 'black sheep son against family' stuff, now OH LOOK HES ADOPTED! he was never one of them to begin with, and Jaime just keeps getting pushed further and further away and made to look like a worse and worse character. I really hate those types of storylines and they picked the perfect actor for it, which sucks because whenever I see Wes Bently I always think of a black sheep, coward, etc. which pulls me out of the suspension of disbelief everytime I see him. Yellowstone would've been better without a son who's easily manipulated by everyone around him.
