  • After posting my last video I received some pretty adverse feedback from some other Toyota RUclipsrs... I won't say names. A couple of them couldn't believe I would put out a video like that. They couldn't believe I would bash Toyota like that. At first I was pretty upset by this unsolicited feedback but the more I thought about it, the more I understood. They were upset because they couldn't fathom putting out a video that actually criticized (although in satirical fashion) the auto brand WE love. Toyota is my favorite automotive manufacturer, I'll continue to support the company but also continue to be critical of the brand... BECAUSE I love the brand. That's the part that a lot of folks don't understand. It is absolutely possible to love something while also being critical of it. In my opinion, they go hand in hand. There'a a lot to like about new 2024 Toyotas... plenty to like. BUT, I also think there's a lot to dislike, and we as enthusiasts SHOULD offer this feedback and be open and honest about it. It's what allows the company to improve. How does Toyota even know what to improve if they're constantly being told they're perfect? They deserve our unfiltered critique. Being afraid to offer those jabs because you're afraid to lose out on an invite, is quite pathetic.
I have 100% come to grips with the fact that I will likely NEVER get invited to another Toyota event, I'm okay with that. I'd rather keep things 100% real and honest on my channel instead of simping for a brand with hopes of getting handouts and all-expense paid trips. My hope is that Toyota will eventually see the value in the critiques that I'm not afraid to provide... and hopefully someday they'll be receptive and open to what I have to say. I firmly believe that I'm not alone in a lot of my thoughts of new Toyotas. The new 2024 Toyota Tacoma is wildly overpriced for being a cheaply made 4banger mid-size pickup. Smaller engine, bigger payment. No thanks.
The new Tundra saw a HUGE price spike over the last gen, we're just supposed to be cool with that? Having owned a 2023 Tundra TRD Pro, I can confidently say that it's not worth the $74K+ price tag. And $65K for the new 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro??? Whahhh? And just $500 less for the 2024 Toyota Trailhunter? No thanks.
It's okay to call a spade a spade... We shouldn't be afraid to do that. I won't be. You can count on that!
Thank you for the continued support. If you haven't already, please consider Liking and Subscribing, your support means a lot... and I certainly appreciate it!

It is not the truth. Truth is to criticize what is correct. But writing/saying WOKE Toyota is a lie, because they had the most news conferences against BEVs and against the stupid "green" regulations.
YOUR GOVERNMENT is guilty of putting stupid, evil regulations, trying to move us on BEVs, smaller engines etc.
YOUR GOVERNMENT brought the inflation by printing money like crazy.
So it's not Toyota and the other best cars' producers (Japanese) but the government.
Blame and make your government accountable, don't blame Toyota or Mazda, Subaru etc. (the best car producers) for your WOKE GOVERNMENT or the worse car producers (Chinese, Korean, European etc.) that fully embraced BEVs and "saving the planet" BS.

I bought a Toyota Tundra 2023 1974 edition, expecting quality fit and finish from Toyota (based on their older models) and what I got instead was an interior that started rattling everywhere (especially the sunroof area, center console and passanger side doors). There was also a very loud metallic clunking noise from the bed when I pull the rear window down and drive over uneven roads. Had I paid 40K I would understand but this thing was 70K. Ended up selling it. I would advise anyone to wait 3-4 years before buying these newer models so they can get the quality under control. Interestingly, many car youtubers said "great fit and finish", which is 100% incorrect.

I'm glad you're speaking your mind on this stuff. I think in your last video, you simply said the stuff that most people truly think, but are afraid to say. This video was a good explanation of it too. For me, I really enjoy older Toyotas, the three I have range from 20-29 years old. Of the three I have, 8k was the most I've paid for one. I'm definitely not the target market for the new Toyota models, but I enjoy keeping up with what they make and I get excited about them. However, even though I'm not buying anything new, I do believe the pricing has gotten way out of control. I'm curious to see how these new models hold up over time and who knows, maybe in 20 years I can buy a 2024 Tundra or Tacoma if they've proven reliable. I am a bit disappointed by the hybridization and downsizing of engines, as I love my 4.7 Tundra and 4.0 4Runner. Great videos, I appreciate your honesty and sticking to what you truly feel needs to be said. I've watched your channel some before, but I finally subscribed today. I heard you say you're in the military, so also, thank you for service.

I had a succession of ford's and chevys and a ram. I then went back to Toyota and bought a 2002 taco a 2010 taco a 2014 taco and a 2019 taco. Great trucks and affordable. Bro, forget about the Toyota parties and invites and whatnot… it doesn’t matter, as you clearly put to the point by saying how you don’t depend on YT or Toyota whatsoever. We appreciate the honesty of your channel, and your delivery. Dude, I’m friends with some of the biggest names in the USA’s Toyota promoter “guild”, and they are all upstanding guys. I feel for them that they probably can’t be totally open and honest in their opinions of the new ways of the brand, having their/our off roading and Toyota Land Cruiser heritage going back so far into the 80’s and earlier. But to their credit they probably are more fond of the upsides of the brand than some of us, or rather maybe they can just see the good more than many of us who are critical and utterly disappointed in the direction and current state of our beloved brand…. So, the invites… forget about em! Now… onto your “woke” video: I thought it was FANTASTIC! A home run! Enjoyed every minute of it and was so glad you didn’t break “character” through the whole thing! Nailed it all! Now, the term “woke”… well, although it probably in itself pissed off a few loyalists, its a term that in my opinion isn’t necessarily the most accurate depiction of the state of the brand… and that said, I see why you would use that word because it does however reach the point closer than any other term available! So I get that too! Anyway, you just keep on keeping on and lets hope the brand rights itself, and if it never does then I recommend procuring as many of the old Toyota relics that you can get your hands on and keeping them forever!

As a 40 year Fed, I hear you. As someone responsible for purchasing millions of $ of hardware & software each year; I never accepted as much as a lunch from a vendor. More often I would buy. It wasn’t that I was concerned about being “caught” accepting favors or that it was even improper. It wasn’t. It was just that I wanted my employees and the vendors themselves to understand that purchases are based on product performance and value rather than the Director’s preference to sit court side with some sales guy. Ii wanted the message to be unambiguous and I wanted to reduce the possibility of protests. I am sure there are feds out there who cashed in on positions such as mine. I left the government knowing I had managed 100s of millions of taxpayer dollars better than I manage my own funds. You don’t deserve nor receive any award for this type of behavior but it does make me sleep more soundly at night.
