Great video review. I bought the Ultraleggero last week for clay shooting and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. So lightweight, fast moving and NO PERCEIVED RECOIL (shooting 28g 7.5 Eley Blues). and it looks beautiful.

@@practicaldave it's not really tight but it never was. I don't think it's changed at all. I'd say I shoot maybe 250-300 rounds a week.

Plastic ? In a game gun?? Appreciate it's all down to taking weight out and there are advantages to that but I'm too much of a traditionalist so not to my taste. Still, you've shot it and you know way more about these things that I ! :D

The current Ultraleggero features 694 Barrels for the 12 gauge version. Of interest to me is that Beretta has a 20 gauge listed in their catalog. None have been produced at this point but one can hope. As someone who shoots 4 gun skeet I find this very interesting, because the 20 is a fairly popular choice for 12 gauge events for those with tired shoulders and add 28 and 410 tubes to the kit and you have a 4 gun Skeet setup that comes at 8 lbs. even with the tubes installed For those of us with robbing our muscle mass that does matter.

Excellent Video! I have owned an Ultraleggero for over two year and It has become my go-to gun!! I have a couple of other really nice Baretta O&U / SxS but every time I go in the gun cabinet, it is the Ultraleggero that ends up being taken out. In my opinion it is a fantastic gun!! I have used it for, Sporting Clay (Just fun not competition), Driven pheasant, Ducks, Pigeon and Walked up rough shooting. At just a little over 6lb it moves around the sky like a magic wand and my shooting has noticeably improved. My shooting friends made fun of me for buying a gun with plastic parts but having seen my success with it have named it "Plastic Fantastic"!! The gun shown in the video, as is the case unfortunately with many Baretta Stocks, represents a very average example. I Didn't buy the first one I saw but looked at many until I found one with nice dark figured wood and plenty of fiddle back. Yes it does have a little bit more recoil than a heavy gun, but with 32g / 34g loads and a shooting jacket, not that much to really be an issue. Yes, if you want nice aesthetics looks and a dedicated clay gun, don't buy this gun! If you want an aggressive looking gun, reliable, multi-purpose, at a reasonable price point and that you don't mind taking out in all types of weather / across all terrain? Then this might well be the gun for you.

I have the Current Ultra light Gold and I had the first Ultra light gold model also. I love them both and I have shot 100s of wegion teal and snipe with them . I dont know why you keep knocking them , I have not had one issue with them and I use carts heavier than you have used in this video. Now I find 6lb 4ozs a little to heavy in 12 for me , then Im more than twice as old as you are and and about 2/3s of your size so I need light weight gun. A 20g in this at 5lbs 6 , 5lbs 8 would be great. It is a nice gun for sure.

Removable sideplates, Zoli did that on the EVO model some 4-5 years ago. Difference is they used steel and did it to be able to add weight to the mid section. But for a field model I would prefer balance over a few ounces.

What I find most interesting about this shotgun is the removable sideplates. To be honest I find the 690 series just a bit dull looking. Picture a 694 with this system and Beretta selling EELL sideplates on their web site and you now have the ability to dress up the 694. As for the light weight, I just purchased a 687 SP3 combo gun in 410/28 gauge. It weighs in at 6 lbs. 12 ounces, fits me perfectly, and is a real joy to shoot. In 410 it's my new Skeet practice gun. It's cheap to reload, requires a higher level of precision, and the recoil is negligible. BTW, mine is a Joel Etchen Special that features a EELL wood upgrade so it's also very pretty.

For those of us that like nice metal engraved side plates, Beretta should offer them in metal for those that like the look more than the light weight. Copy the 687 EELL plates. Or someone come up with an aftermarket plate. It does not look like it would be too hard to machine a metal plate. Silver/Gold side plate on a black receiver. .

I can't find anyone sharing the Ultraleggero side plates. I have the blank side plates, but nobody has shared any designs.
Not a lot of 3d printer enthusiast who have this shotgun :P
Update* I have printed a few designs, but the issue is a 3D printer is not a CNC machine and the ones that come with the Ultraleggero are 100% CNC, thus why you can't make something as nice. You need a CNC or laser cutter to make a really nice finish.
Then again if you are going to buy a 3K shotgun, then you can buy a 1+k CNC :)

Not at all surprised by the epic whinging in these comments, but the example I handled balanced under half an inch in front of the hinge (28" barrels, I believe), and the plastic bits looked great in person. Re durability, I'd bet on this over anyone's aluminum receiver. The wood IS plain, but highly figured wood is generally heavier and less rugged.
If I was chasing a high energy dog all day, and a rooster runs & jumps at 30+ yards, it's hard to imagine a better O/U to have in hand than this.

Let's see we take a beretta shotgun and replace the steel with plastic to make it lighter. Boy that is a revolutionary idea. This genius idea makes the front end very heavy and destroys the balance and shoot ability of the gun. The wood resembles cheap turkish wood. Its an old American trick. You cheap out on materials and charge more for the same product. Im not this bull or the gun.

No disrespect to the narrator but any experienced sportsman can tell the gun is kicking you rather severely, especially when taking the overhead straightaway shots it’s apparent that the gun is jolting you. Beretta, and no manufacturer for that matter can defy physics. Sure if you’re shooting between 5 and 10 shots hunting not a big deal. Shoot a 100 rounds shooting skeet and you will develop a severe flinch (in time). With that said I appreciate your honesty in the end of your video. Hunting yes, clay shooting absolutely NOT!
