My K80 isn’t going anywhere. Personally I think they’ve missed the mark with this gun in quite a few ways to be honest. The F1 analogy doesn’t really work with shotguns, I take your point with F1 cars and drivers, but for world champ shooters they could shoot with any gun and still win. Sticking max vertstrapon in a Williams he simply wouldn’t win, give Nick Hendricks an old browning and he can win anything, hang on a minute that’s what he already shoots 😂 Sam green, the same, etc etc. Great vid mate, and good to see you back. Keep the vids on point and true to your spirit and the channel will grow. 💪 🇬🇧❤️
Spot on with the review. As you said, very much like a F1 car. It was very pleasant to shoot. Thanks for the channel and having me out for a go with the SL2.
The Benelli 828, that’s where I have seen this gun before. I love the look of both tbh. Had the chance to handle one of these (not shoot it) and I have to say if I was spending this kind of money it would be on my shortlist, as well as a Longthorne, K80 etc.
Super review Lloyd !!! Surprised you didn't pull trigger unit out to talk about. What a beautiful machine. I think Beretta has absolutely nailed this one for sure. IMO- worth every penny.
Great review as always, beautiful shotgun, I love the racy look. Interesting stuff about recoil, how do you defy the laws of physics? "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction " Keep em coming Lloyd you've been missed.
Recoil feel can be changed by modifying the pressure curve. A short sharp pressure curve generates a sharp recoil feel. You can flatten the pressure curve and take the sting out of it. In the Steelium barrels this is done with very specific forcing cone geometry which produces required velocity from a tamer looking pressure curve. It can also produce more consistent pattern dependant on cartridge choice obviously. Interesting fact - the idea of tinkering with forcing cones to decrease recoil and increase pattern consistency originally occurred in Vostok shotguns many years ago. Both Browning and Miroku also used "back boring" among others. Beretta have arguably perfected it to the highest standards and can back it up with data.
I really like it, too! I’ve seen a couple of the group of 50 prototypes that have the neon green highlights for sale as well. Been looking at them for some time but I’d have unload about 6-7 from my collection I think before I’d get close to the cost.🫤
I think it looks fantastic. Kind of discrete but really appealing to me. Unfortunately its way to expensive for me to consider but I get why Beretta would develop this. Great review, as always.
Excellent review, I would really love to see a Beretta shotguns ranking by you, from the worst to the best plus price comparison. Thank you for the all amazing reviews.
Hi Lloyd Hope your well It just a stunning gun ! yes it not the cheapest out there but what is in life now I hope to try my mate one later in the year. Anyway more importantly when we getting a review on your K80 ?? Great review Lloyd 👍
I like scrolls/engraving etc on the action more than plane actions but that looks really nice and the wood looks great with that zebra type stripes running through it
I've been eagerly awaiting seeing this gun in the flesh. Got to do so at the Game Fair and was a little disappointed. Maybe it's because I'm a lefty and the gun was right handed so no palm swell for me. Just felt weird and lock up also felt strange. So want to like this, hopefully I'll get to hold a lefty 31inch at some point.
BEST GUN EVER MADE. OTHER GUN MANUFACTURERS CANNOT EVEN THNK HOW TO DO SUCH A MARVELOUS GUN. BERETTA SHOWING OFF THEIR CAPABILITIES AND INDEED THEY ARE LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF THE SECOND....BRAVO AND A BIG THANKS TO BERETTA THUS WE CAN DREAM...
Compared with the Perazzi HT, how do you rate it? Because in my view, it sounds like an ugly copy of the Hi Tech (i.e., 3 inch chamber, larger forcing cones, additional weight, etc.) I would love to read your opinion.
It handles very much like a HT, however as I said in the video, for an off the shelf gun, it feels like made to measure. That is high praise given I am comparing this favourably to a custom made Perazzi.
It’s a beautiful sleek looking gun and would compliment my SL3 very well. However, if it’s competing with the DT11 then I think it will struggle just purely from a price point of view.
Very cool Lloyd. I'm a watch ⌚ enthusiast and a keen shooter, and I'd say you would have way more fun with the Beretta than a Rolex. 😅 Can't afford either. I'll take your word for it that it's up there with a K80 or a Perazzi as I'm guessing you've shot them as well!? Don't knock it til you've tried it! Cheers for the review. Definitely will look at joining. Loved your Browning factory tour 👍
Interested to hear you are not sponsored or paid for your reviews by Beretta. A bit of a 'dig' at Johnny Carter who is sponsored by Beretta.!! Anthony Matrese Jn. used an SL2 and finished second in the World FITASC comp.
Yes I agree a Kreighoff is money better spent, best investment in the sport for the last 25yrs. They encourage their owners to service their products and that's why they are a good investment. And that equals high resale value.
Over 90% of Paris Olympic medalists used the DT11! How much more will this gun offer at DOUBLE the cost?? While I am a huge fan of Beretta, if I were to drop 20k on a shotgun, I would get a Perazzi where I can have it built as a truly bespoke shotgun.
Probably help if you knew the difference between kirsten bolt versus boss versus Woodward style locking systems. Theres nothing robbed from the SO series in that locking system.
Such engineering is only worthy of hand engraving and that would effectively double the price and severely reduce production numbers while increasing wait times. It’s perfect as it is.
When it come to F1 I prefer the V12 V8 engine from 80s 90s it was something beautiful the new one is ok but music is not the same anymore this shotgun is not may melody .
With those lines, I think the receiver would risk looking tarted up if it had a bunch of engraving. I wouldn't mind having one of these and a K80 just to offend both ends of the traditionalist spectrum.
I cant see any Beretta being worth close to £20K, they're a high production company with a mass market audience. Most folks wont see any real benefit of all the 'new name' tech. James Bradley Day shoots a 694 and he doesn't miss much, they're priced at a reasonable £4K. Brownings XS Pro £4.5K again a cracking gun with a price that matches the audience its marketed at. You would be better off buying a turkish stock for a 525 or 694 or even a MK38, as most wont need the slight margin that the additional technology would grant you (Steelium Pro X barrels etc). If i had £20K i would get an engraved K80 that has the pedigree name to match the cost. I shoot a Miroku MK38 Grade 3 which fits its price tag without the embellishment of new name tech or design.
To the viewers who claim it’s too expensive or not worth it; please stop. Your claim is subjective at best. The consumer will let Beretta know in short order if it’s “overpriced” or not. Great review as usual 👍🏻
That makes no sense - apart from the review comment. What you call a subjective opinion may well be made by those who may well decide not to be consumers. Their opinion may be entirely valid, based on a full and detailed consideration of the gun perhaps more so than someone who has the money to waste; perhaps more money than sense. Any comment the gun is too expensive is no less valid than someone saying it's not.
@@briannoble366 Until it develops the pedigree of the K~80 it remains unproven and therefore is not it’s equal. Yet this gun somehow commands a higher price than a Krieghoff K-80 (or Perazzi). I’m sorry but I don’t see it.
All i see is another beretta marketing/it department gun, don't get me wrong i have no doubt it is a great gun, but all the fancy names for hammer forging etc don't break targets, the same with all of the top tier line p/k guns, great guns but worth the money in terms of mechanical advantage- absolutely not, just another brag factor gun in the market
No, sorry, I can't see 20,000 pounds there . I own a Kerieghoff K 80 super sport and an F3 with these guns I can see the quality of engineering and love Beretters but not that one !!
My K80 isn’t going anywhere. Personally I think they’ve missed the mark with this gun in quite a few ways to be honest. Another excellent no nonsense review. 👍
Great review Lloyd nice looking gun and good to see you back mate.
Really enjoyed this review, I love your comments on the recoil, I’m intrigued. It’s easy on the eye too, I need to check one out. 🍻 Cheers!
A brilliant review Lloydy. I have shot the trap version and it is incredible. I called it a DT11 RS or a DT11 GTi

Yes it is obviously a very high end gun. Beretta do make lovely shotguns however they are usually more expensive than they should be.
99%

good review Lloyd. I like my DT11 it do the job.👍
As I watch this video, I'm going through my mind trying to decide what I need to sell to get one. 😂...great review man
Thanks man.
A kidney perhaps? Think it's a beautiful gun, but it's only something I can dream about at that price point.
Good to see you back lloyd! That is one ass spankingly looking gun. Great vid as usual. Good egg!
Hi Lloyd

Great review and an interesting gun. Thanks for sharing
Benelli 828 U Hype Gun!
Another great review. Thank you for the excellent content and unbiased viewpoint.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks mate, brilliant review, think you’ve just helped me make my mind up, I’ll start saving 😂 have a beer on me.
Ah thank you Michael.
Wonderful gun, wonderful video. Can this gun be used in hunting? Thanks.
Any gun can be used for hunting if you really want to.
If I could afford it, I would buy it yesterday!

Is this our new ASE? Great video, 👍
The F1 analogy is good, but that R&D will trickle down to more production models. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some 694 improvements in a few years.

Beautiful wood, but way too much money
How much? You’ve got to be kidding. Money would be better spent on a Krieghoff or Perazzi.
This gun is every bit the equal to both of those, built in their SO factory (hand fitted) not their main factory.
