Chuffing gorgeous, unapologetic with the yellow/green. Nice to see a full lean into a modern finish. Hope to see more things like this, combination of style and incorporation of hard wearing tech! The possibilities are endless!
Im glad you told us that you had a height of 6 foot 7 inches. That explains a lot. Like a hockey coach said "you can't coach reach" or Stalin's "quntity has a quality all its own". I'm a meager 5 ft 9. I make a 20 in my hands look like a 12 in yours.
Great video and appreciate the bench time and live fire. Please also note that 28 and 20 gauge sub barrels are available to fit up with the gun. Hope 410 will follow soon!
Another great in depth review of this world beating gun. I love the black action but the jury is out for me on the colour of the Beretta trident etc, I suppose it will grow on me. 🤔 Also like to thank Jonny for his time at the British Shooting Show on the Friday and we did have a little discussion about this review, I did mention that I had been lucky enough to go to the Beretta factory for a custom fit DT11, love it, thanks again Mr. Carter and keep the reviews coming they are great….
I have DT11 Black 2017 it has fired over 90K cartridges I have had it serviced last year apart from cleaning it only needed a small shear spring it’s the best gun I have every had well done video keep it up😊😊
Switched all my BCGs with DLC coated versions - increased lubricity is the draw but ease of cleaning merits notice as well. Amazing coating - works both inside and out!
Thanks for another really good video. Your work brings me some great Sunday mornings of quiet time involving coffee and your cogent, intimate presentations about things that are interesting to me.
Another excellent video! The DT-11 is a proven gun, but it's always interesting to hear guys like Matarese (who, recently switched to a SL2) extoll the virtues of the gun and then in a subsequent interview on another channel talk about how he never liked the width of the DT11 action, etc. While I appreciate their input as bona fide champions, it's always important to remember that job #1 is to sell guns. I don't think anyone at my level can go wrong with either, just interesting, nonetheless.
well that's me going to be living on bread and butter for a while... was looking about the purchase a normal DT11 but i feel like i may have to make some cuts and go all in.. absolute masterpiece!
I started off shooting with an early DT11 Sporter, although barrel heavy I really loved that gun, shot well with it and kept it a few years. Then got the opportunity to purchase the exclusive 10th anniversary edition, it was at this point the wheels came off the Beretta band wagon. Pre covid beretta were and still are some of the best made guns out there. From my experience Post COVID guns the quality most certainly took a dive. Finish issues, top levers locking up, loose forends, rattling drop out triggers, overly tight actions making the gun almost impossible to open, and then there’s the dealing with GMK throughout the whole debacle. I had in total 5 DT11’s over 12 months, with 3 being direct from Italy, the final 2 being DT11EELL, which were absolutely stunning but full of issues. Even the one in this vid looked tight to open. I genuinely hope they’ve sorted out the issues and are back to making great guns as I’m a genuine fan of the DT11. Look at the last of the DT11 Golds, as for me these were brilliant and pre covid. I’m also surprised they haven’t included the DLC chokes for the DT11 DLC? I mean why wouldn’t they? Ah right, upgrades and extra cash 😂 naught beretta. Carbon fibre rib? Let’s see how that ones lasts, if it’s anything like the original black I’m guessing just outside of the 3 year warranty period if you’re lucky. Nice bit of kit, shoot well. Nice vid JC, good to see you back doing these types of vids. Always a pleasure to see you with ed solomons ( cracking lad he is) as for the other Ed 😒. For the minute I’ll think be sticking with the K80 😉. Keep up the good work fella! 🙏🇬🇧❤️
Stunning, absolutely stunning. I need to have a proper look at the shooting show. Shot a Dt11 black edition Wednesday. (Carbon fibre rib/ trigger) Found it extremely fast. Might come and find you, you can talk me through a few things, how much weight can be added etc.
That finish is called nitriding. It absorbs into the to few microns of the metal. Similar to the tech used on landing gear of planes etc. We tried it on old barrels to see if we could retro steel proof them, nope, didn't work.
This is not a criticism directed only at Beretta, however... These prices simply cannot be justified. If you were a shooter of the level that would buy a DT11 you likely already have a very good shotgun. What is the motivation for the non-sponsored shooter to pay rack rate $13,000+ USD to move (I won't say upgrade because that's a matter of opinion depending on what you're already shooting) to this DT? I feel that the age of the price is no object mindset has come and gone and manufacturers need to start thinking about both performance AND value.
The DT series feels like more of a show gun, something you purchase because you have the money to buy the best of whatever you want. The market is still huge and growing for ultra premium everything. You can easily get a good O/U that can compete with a DT11 for half the price or less, but at the end of the day it won't be a DT11.
Beretta also makes the A300 sporting which costs $1100 and it's a great value. The DT11 is a flagship clays gun. It's gonna be expensive. My complaint, which wasn't mentioned in the video, is that the move to DLC coating is because the EU now, as of 2024, prohibits the chrome electroplating processes that Beretta legacy guns all used for their famous heavy-lined chrome bores. Those pros shooting 30k rds/year will never wear out those chrome bores in their lifetimes. The DLC? It's hard, but it is not as durable as the legacy heavy chrome. A pro shooting regimen will eventually wear through the DLC in the bore. But, they're getting their guns fully overhauled every few years anyhow, so does that matter? Arguably no, but it's annoying that the customer isn't given the choice any longer.
@@TrojanManSCP As far as I'm aware chrome plating was banned due to the emissions created during the process being quite harmful to workers. Its a shame its banned but I can understand the reasoning behind it, Id rather not own a gun that hurt the health of the person who made it.
I've always been a fan of Beretta, I own a couple and I'm a huge fan of the DT1, this one being no exception.. except for the green/yellow detailing. Just not for me but I don't know why, because I do like it on the SL2.
Lovely everything on this DT-11 EXCEPT The carbon rib most my friends have a Beretta with this carbon rib are not happy they come loose and fast . Requires black tape because the barrel pins fall out. Put the steel rib on this beautiful gun please!!!!
Yes,the Beretta A-400 as well I my self traded in all my beretta's in on Cesar Guerini's I bought and they have a better customer service that takes care of you I live 40 minutes away from Cesar Guerini's/Fabarm usa And there great people.
Hope they have fixed the propensity for action to open after first shot, thankfully Coles were able to refit the cross bolt on my DT11 and since then no issues.
Thanks Jonny, another interesting gun review of a popular gun. Which is always great to hear what others have got say about it. Never had one, but its definitely on my list. Lovely looking modern hand finished Beretta, just whats not to like really, cracking gun..
And just to add, I think its the sort of gun that if your in a gun room just looking, and its, ohh a DT-11 you say can i see it, how much and how old is that then??? LoL Does any one or could anyone ever say they hate it??? No it's never ever going to be a hateful gun...😊
Bought the L version last year and have really enjoyed it. Was between it and the k80. The DT just felt better. I may still get the K80 one day though 😃
Dt11 is a workhorse. I like black receivers over shiny ones. The coating seams like it should provide protection for generations. Wonder if you have the option with this midel to get a steel rib instead of fiber??
First - love the video(s) and this one was no exception. Second - and a completely random question but - I am from the US and find it very difficult to find any shooting apparel that doesn’t make me look like a neon sign and/or puffy stuffed animal. Can you and/or the viewers share some of your favorite clay or bird hunting apparel brands?…especially interested in items that could be worn out at the range and then out in public readily.
I find standard DT11 too barrel heavy in 32” so really think this could be a lovely gun. I’m not convinced about the DLC coating though as that’s what Blaser F3 has and I ruined mine by cleaning it regularly. It faded badly over a few years. I was using paper kitchen roll and would swap to cloth if I had DLC again. BTW I can’t see this available as a 32” yet
JC, what's the weight difference with the carbon rib and trigger set, on say the 30"? Also what difference does it make to the balance point of carbon vs steel? I do appreciate you can use B-fast barrel weights as well as stock weights, but that would negate going carbon to start with! I appreciate you showed balance, but does this mean there's less weight in the butt to balance the lighter rib? Lovely gun, and I like the zombie green. I do like the L with engraving more though 🥰 Side question; why do you not do a balance test with cartridges in? This surely is more practical for testing balance for shooting?
Beautiful gun and you can see the joy on your face. I love the new tech for the barrels etc, very cool. Do the barrel weights go in a specific place? I am asking as if they were further ahead they would have a different effect owing to leverage, closer to the action less so. Anyway cracking vid and dependable entertainment well done TGS Good job as usual and it makes my night watching these vids... cheers guys.
Superb video Jonny the gun looks brilliant and I’m tempted to upgrade my current black edition for one. But how much will they retail for do you think ?
Jonny, i´m told that a Black Edition DT11 with steel rib and trigger unit is available, but I have not been able to verify this. Could you please enlighten me and maybe even provide a link if it is available. Thank you.
Beautiful gun, though I have a couple of tiny, tiny nits. I don't like plain receivers, I like engraving (Which I know is an option with this gun, I just saw one at the range that was beautifully engraved.) The second is the case. For the money you pay for this, it should come with a nicer case (as do, for example, Ceasar Guerinis). I can't imagine anyone who lays out 12k or more for this isn't going to immediately buy a better case. Otherwise, I lust after this as I shuffle around with my humble, though beloved SP1. With engraving.
I like a shotgun with a traditional look…….regular well blued barrels, regular steel rib. No fashion statements thank you. I love my DT10 Trident sporter.
Not sure what they were thinking when choosing carbin fiber for the rib, two completely different materials and expecting them to stay together when you know the barrel expands and contracts with every shot. There isn't an adhesive on this planet that will give you a lifetime of service.
Loving your channel, only just subscribed. But as a 40+ year old newbie to the sport, do you have an idiots guide to shooting? Like what are chokes, how to clean a gun, what cartridges should I be requesting etc. TIA.
DT-11 is definitely a fantastic gun. However, I wonder what's the real story with SL2 ?! Long time between SL2 Launch edition and SL2 Production... Very hard to come by, no price info anywhere... Nice? Absolutely. But for the money I personally would want better wood. Beretta have a theme these days it seems of mediocre wood for the money (694 i'm looking at you)
One guy in my group shoots a 686 onyx from 2010. The wood on it looks way nicer than another guys 2020-21 694. The wood on my low buck Yildiz has more figure in it than the 694.
Love all your videos, if anything I've learned a lot watching you over the past few years. Though in this video specifically I saw my past self when I was a new wear of prescription glasses. You need to complain to Ed and Ed to have those glasses adjusted my friend or look for another brand, they are doing you a disservice as I felt like you had to move them back up every time you looked down.
Ha, sorry if that came off complicated for you. My thought was “you need your glasses adjusted”. I believe all brands can be these days. I don’t think it’s an old school or new, it’s just glasses. Mine are another brand that look similar but any eye doc can adjust them so they will stay on better when you look down. Thanks

Traditional "rust bluing" barrels are nicer.
Well done, Jonny.
I think this is just about my favorite looking gun overall.
Great review of a lovely gun. If I were buying a DT11 this would be my first choice.
I’d love to see the chokes in a back color. I’m not sure if that’s a possibility, but it would be more aesthetically pleasing (in my opinion)
What a beauty ❤❤❤❤ clasic love it 😍

Carbon fiber ribs suck! They get loose and detach regularly.
very cheap and easy fix, put a tiny drop of tread lock on the retaining pin, drive it in place and never look at it again
I really enjoy your videos. I have always wanted to buy a DT11 and probably will one day.
Such a fantastic review - brilliant
If I had the money, I’d get a Perazzi. They are fit by a professional. You choose the wood, the checkering, etc, etc. Nothing compares.
I love that you’re moving to the DT-11
This is a dream gun for me.
LM in both
Cover it with some custom engraving. 😊
Just to get some extra knowledge is the inside of the barrels coated in dlc too? Or only external?
A thing of beauty, I love it👌👊
Hope they have fixed the propensity for action to open after first shot, thankfully Coles were able to refit the cross bolt on my DT11 and since then no issues.

What an amazing weapon. I am surprised that it doesn't have an extractor.
ok, ok i got it, you are in love with that gun. 😇 Even I figgure it out low recoil at screen. Good gun. 👍
Superb once again Johnny! Did I miss the cost of the beast?
So what happens if the DLC is dinged? When it dings it chips, and when it comes off it takes the first layer of steel with it… better not drop it
Love these reviews. Great gun. Maybe one day. Keep up the great work jonny. Stay safe cheers
I am not a fan of the blue on the 694 series - won’t be able to get a dt11 but this is far better colours
Hi I'm looking for Lensley Leeds shotgun. Can you tell me where I can find one. Thank you
How did you find the recoil on it?That would be a big selling point for me.
Beautiful. . What is the price
Im surprised that you only shoot a 16 inch LOP. im out at 17 inch at 6 foot 5, but im long armed
Nice gun Johnny but outside my budget I would imagine. Will stick with my Zoli for the time being.
are there similarities in that gun and a yildiz over under it reminds me of my yildiz minus removable trigger

could you potentially review the SV10 Prevail by beretta?
Just ordered one!
What wright is the base model?
Great video
Can you tell me Jonny why you raved on about beretta barrels and there borings . Why now on there SL2 have they reverted back to 18.4 Borings.
Barrel profiles are not as simple as the measurement at the tightest point.

That is a very pretty fun. Yet it's not so pretty that your be worried about going out in the field with one...
DT-11 is definitely a fantastic gun.
However, I wonder what's the real story with SL2 ?!
Long time between SL2 Launch edition and SL2 Production... Very hard to come by, no price info anywhere... And not even Beretta is selling chokes for that gun...
I've seen Anthony Matarese switched from DT-11 to SL2... but...
Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot?!
Oh my!

Second hand K80 for that money 👍
Love my 694 ...lotto win n I'm on this 😅

Haven't heard the price if its disclosed but im guessing they think its worth $17,000
Very Nice 💯 Great Video 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥

do you have MTs6 or 7 in youre collection??
For the price of this shotgun it should atleast have a solid walnut case thats polished to a mirror finish with gold inlay and lined with silk.

I bought one second hand for 1300 very well balanced gun upgraded from 687 really pleased with look and modern designed in black version ❤❤
That’s absolutely lovely.
I’m a browning shooter but this is well worth a look at the British Shooting shoot
Nice review TGS 👍

Great Gun, just not a fan of the carbon rib.
How much it will cost
Did he mean number six and a half bird shot cuz he said 6 and 1/2 oz that would be too much right

Best Beretta ever mad.
Welp, this my dream shotgun now lol

You explained your thoughts the Most complicated possible. Basically you think their glasses are too loldschool?
Ha, sorry if that came off complicated for you. My thought was “you need your glasses adjusted”. I believe all brands can be these days. I don’t think it’s an old school or new, it’s just glasses. Mine are another brand that look similar but any eye doc can adjust them so they will stay on better when you look down. Thanks
@@andrewstacy537 understood. Thanks taking your time to explain it.
Don’t like the garish yellow, I prefer the standard gun , which is great
I so wish they would make a Mid Rib for us weirdos.
