GWM Cannon Ute 4x4 - Random Remote Rant

Maybe it’s just me but the layout of this remote frustrates me.
Don't watch this if you are easily triggered. Yes, it is a first world problem and I'm sorry if posting things like this rather than the other views is not to your liking BUT it seemed relevant and worth sharing.

It's so true. Small design things matter. Good design does not have these issues. We just use it and it goes un-appreciated most of the time. Bad design always has this happen. And it is true in this case too.
Every time you go to open the car, you get frustrated, because the mind has already been trained through many good products, that access to the important function is at the top and usually a larger button than the rest.
Imagine a square with 4 buttons in each corner. We recognize and touch buttons starting from the top left going to the bottom right. The right-to-left language speaking people, like in Arabic, will be opposite. But the idea remains the same. The most important button is always at in a prominent position that has easy access to muscle memory.

Maybe the 'Intelligent Key' button layout assists vision impaired people find the Lock & Unlock buttons easier.
Seriously.... there must be a reason as the Nissan 'Intelligent Key System' is the same with both lock and unlock being next to each other. Also, that Speaker key is the 'Vehicle Locating Button'.

I'm sure there is a good design reason but not my personal preference is all.

I have the same problem lol... What I like to do is to hold it upside down, that way the logo at the back is on top like most car keys and the lock and unlock buttons are at the top too.

I keep pocket setting off the alarm on mine. Thinking about disabling the button.

If u have the remote on u, just push the black button on the door, it locks instantly

Correct, although I find that system isn't always as reliable as it should be. A few gremlins still to be worked through.

Why use the remote to lock the car? Just touch the handle and it locks.

Press the top button once and then hold it in until it starts.

Yes, you can. Mine is the LUX and the X has added extras on top.
