      I love that they cut to RDJ a few times here and now years later they’ve worked together and he said said that a reassuring look helped him through that. Amazing. Actually this whole awards season with Oppenheimer is quite amazing, both Christopher and Cillian have both always been very private but their love and happiness about this movie and their success of it has given them some window to willingly open up, it’s very nice.

    • @_mrspanky_4587
      @_mrspanky_4587 3 года назад +44

      @Iu Iulitza No. The award was awarded to an actor who did an incredible job at portraying a darker version of the Joker. His acting thoughout the movie was phenomenal and 100% deserving of an award. Anything to do with "he only got it because he died" and your bullshit point of it being political is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. If you disagree with me about the choice of actor because another actor that year also did a brilliant job in his role then good - that's a valid reason, but any other reason why Heath Ledger was undeserving is plain shit

      Robert Downey jr consumía drogas, Ledger tomó remedios para dormir... Comprados con y sin indicación, consultando 2 ó 3 doctores sin decirle a ninguno que ya había consultado a otro y tomando más de la cuenta pero eran medicamentos,no drogas ilícitas. Él sólo quería descansar,estaba con depresión y sufría de ansiedad aguda desde niño en Australia, lamentablemente no dió con un buen equipo médico ó terapeutas que le dieran el tratamiento correcto porque los hay pero no consumía drogas. Downey jr se jugó la vida consumiendo sustancias "recreativas"... No es lo mismo.

Cuz if you remember 'Iron Man' came out same year as TDK, and they generally don't give big franchise roles to people who have struggling substance abuse issues; especially those who are basically re-inventing their career at the time.

    He died a Joker. The best Joker we have and will ever see.
    EDIT: It is objective to decide who's the best. Heath gave in his all to the performance, and it shows. Mr. Phoenix is one of the most expressive actors out there, and he's undoubtedly going to do a great job. I am, in fact, an admirer of all his works. Jack Nicholson's version was brilliant for his time.
    What I mean to say is, that Heath was a gem, and one must not disrespect his work in the wake of other also earth-shattering performances.
    RIP Heath. I hope Mr. Phoenix will carry your legacy forward, make you proud.

      They all sold him drugs at one point or another. I personally have the same dentist as RDJ. and the same proctologist as his dad and good friend of mine Morten Downey jr.

      He either feels sad, or feels jealous. I find the latter to be hardly believable. Also, it was mentioned that Heath was his friend, so it could be very well be him being sad over his death.

    If The Dark Knight wasn't made, Tom Cruise would have definitely got the award.

    when I was just a freshman in high school, one of my teachers said something I’ll never forget. “Sometimes when people die, all we say about them is ‘that’s too bad.’ Is that how you want people to remember you? You are more than that.”
    when I think back about Heath’s death, it reminds me a lot of that idea. this man was a legend before he died, and still is today. he inspired me, my friends, and so many people with this role alone, so much skill and dedication to his craft…not “just too bad,” but a beloved talent gone too soon.
    you don’t have to be a world-famous actor. but maybe we could all do something to inspire someone. help someone in need. teach someone something new. be more than “that’s too bad” when you’re gone. Heath is a great example of that idea, and if anything, I thank him for that. RIP

    Imagine him in recent blockbusters. The Dark Knight is still my favorite movie because of him.

    I dont think a single nominee wanted that globe. They all wanted Heath to have it
