i love the disclaimer about the trolling potentials and the explanation between actually trolling vs making mistakes when using their skills. good intro!
I don’t know who is actually debating trolling vs mistakes. Life grip removes agency in a multiplayer shooter. No one likes lag, tabbing out or bluescreening, all things that hinder agency. Now a mechanism has been added enshrining this very undesirable circumstance.
Yeah for me personally I am not that scared of the trolling aspect because if someone is going to throw it doesn't matter anyways what hero he plays you lose 99,99% of those regardless. What I don't like however is that a teammate who maybe has no clue how to play tank decides what a good play or positioning is. Like if I am playing rein and I get pulled back to 'peel' for the Doomfist. What purpose does that serve? Absolutely none because I can't do anything about the doomfists as rein. The best thing I can do is go on their backline or block the doomfists heals or follow up damage. Me swinging at a Doomfist doesn't serve a purpose whatsoever. Yet I have the feeling that allot of people don't realise these kind of things and I'll just get to not play the actual role/job that I have or do the best thing I can do because some else decides that I should do this instead while I cannot counteract it. I'm also afraid that I'll get pulled back allot while playing Winston and being close to securing a Elim or 2 or popping primal but I'll get gripped.
@@skarloeythomas5172 comparing his grab to bluescreening is dishonest to me, just because the ability makes you unable to move doesn’t make it inherently negative. Like in the video, it can be used for placement, plays, and saves and i’m sure those players won’t complain about agency when it helps them. It just comes down to the usage of the ability and how good the lifeweaver is, same with every other hero
@@skarloeythomas5172 people have been griefing (trolling) with stuff like with mei's wall for years (if you've never had a toxic teammate intentionally wall your rein or block his shatter to end the match faster, consider yourself lucky ;~; literally just had that happen in a match not too long ago). As a support player this ability can definitely be dicey but it'll be nice to be able to finally stop people who feel the need to rush into a 1v5 scenario
@@Siks7Ate9 Yep big agree. Very well said. I'm a masters support main and share these concerns even regarding playing the hero myself. I don't want this kind of ability. This is actually the 1st season I'm not buying the battle pass. I'll stick to Kiriko.
I think the best thing to fix his weapon swapping on console is to bind weapon swap to when you press in on the left joystick, this way you dont need to move your fingers off the movement keys in order to swap between weapons. I use this for mercy and it feels way better than trying to hit the left d-pad button
I think the reason Moiras Coalescence can go through the Petal Platform is: it acts as a solid SHIELD. It seems to exhibit the same behaviors as a shield, except you can stand on it. And Moiras ult goes through shields. Would like to test with Sym...see if she gets weapon ammo from it like she does a shield..
I tested and Symmetra gets increased weapon charge from both the petal and the tree. While I agree with you on the Moira one, the thing is Ramattra's fists in nemesis form also go through shields (it was also in the deep dive gameplay video PlayOverwatch released for him), but from my tests the fists don't go through it so the people who stay on the petal platform don't get damaged, only the petal is - so it acts like a shield MOST OF THE TIMES
@@mL7support That's just really weird. Either these interactions are bugs or they purposely gave this thing strange quasi-shield attributes that make it act like a shield only in SOME cases and a solid wall in others o.O
@@mL7support I watched Jay3s video on all hero abilities combo'd with LW and the ramattra fists DID go through the petal on his tests! So that make sense that it's like a shield, cause reins firestrike goes through it as well
@@mL7support I think the fists don’t go through the petal because of the range, not because they’re not capable of piercing it. Firestrike seems to go through. The punches should go through if the petal is not full-height I think. That said, Moira’s heal spray definitely should not. That’s a bug.
Hello everyone! I’m a Masters support player on console and these are my bidding’s so far on PS5 based on all the video’s I’ve seen and how fluid it felt in the practice range so far. Need to test more in games, but the biddings are: Reload: R1 (This lets me switch super easy and fast between weapons while I keep shooting or healing my allies in heated situations with R2) Ability 1: Square (Normally we have reload here, but since we switch so much between the weapons you will normally be reloaded on that other weapon before going back to it, gotta test it more if I need to key bind a key reload later) This let’s me move, shoot and position myself without interrupting any of the concepts mentioned. Ability 2: L1 Secondary Fire: L2 (These two key binds let’s me platform easy and pull an ally to it fairly easy since they’re next to each other) The other bindings stayed the same, to break the platform or interact are on L3. Melee is R3, Ult is Triangle (build R2 or cancel L2) Hope this helps someone and if someone comes up with something please share it to test it as well! 🥰
4:52 I think I’ve found the optimum button layout for controller but it still feels a bit clunky when changing weapons. -Change weapon: Right Bumper -Shoot: Right Trigger -Petal Platform: Left Bumper -Rejuvenating Dash: Left Trigger -Life Grip: Left Stick in Every other button is default. ALSO in Lifeweaver’s options change “Secondary fire cancels primary fire” to OFF. It’s on by default which means your charged up healing gets cancelled if you want to platform up. Hope this helps someone! :D
As a console player, here’s what I’m going to do for key binds (not 100% sure of these yet, dash and petal might be swapped) Primary Fire- R2 Weapon swap- L2 Dash - R1 Petal- L1 Life Grip- Circle (A for Xbox/Switch) Interact- D-Pad Since the default weapon swap on console is on the d-pad you’ll be taking your finger off the movement joystick every time you switch weapon. L2 made the most sense to me for weapon swap since a lot of console players already use L3 for crouch and it feels a little more fluid after testing on torb. If crouch is still on circle (default), L3 would be what I’d use for weapon swap (what I have for Mercy).
Hey, console player here. I played around in firing range to rebind, and this is what I found to be most comfortable (Note: I play on ps5, comfort may change on xbox). Rebinds Ability 1 (Dash): L3, making it comfortable to use at all times Ability 2 (Lifegrip): I use default bind, R1/RB Ability 3 (Ult): Default, Triangle/Y Secondary Fire (Platform): L1/LB Next Weapon: L2/LT Interact: Right or Down D-Pad (Personally I use right) Keep everything else default. Of course this may vary based on your own comfort, so change accordingly. His settings are very awkward on controller even with these changes, so it’ll take time to get used to. Hope this helps :)
On controller to switch between dmg and hls its the Dpad wich is just super awkward so you could swap it with interact since you dont need it all the time
3:50 this is the same issue on Ana with nano confirmation for those of us who rebind ADS to a different button (personally I use a mouse thumb button). I really hope they will add an option for cancel to always be on right click (or customizable) even if the normal right click ability is rebound.
For the simplest console keybinding I probably would recommend swapping the ultimate button and next weapon. Default next weapon is the right direction on the direction pad thing and Ult is the top button on the numbers/symbols. This is probably the easiest set up to get used to and if you accidentally press the modified weapon swap layout when your trying to ult your not punished by wasting a cooldown.
why not use weapon as the left trigger? then put the previous bind (dpad) on reload since you dont have to reload as often. keep your interact for sym tp and breaking platform
I have my weapon swap on L2 (left trigger) which was originally my petal. I like this so I can be more versatile with my healing and damage while swapping with ease. Idk if this helps others but it helps me. I also have my grip as L1( left bumper) and my petal as R1 (right bumper). I also have my dash as my left joystick so when I’m walking all I need to do is press down on it. Again, I don’t know if this will help everyone on PlayStation but it really helped me and my game play
Im glad that you touched on the trolling thing. It feels like way too many streamers just repeatedly talk about the trolling thing an excessive amount, rather than acknowledging it then focusing on the positives. I love what you bring to the community and to support mains.
Hey, console player here, I’m diamond supp with Ana mercy. So far the control bindings I’ve found to feel the smoothest are primary fire RT/R2, next weapons LT/R2, Ability 1(dash) Left joystick/L3, Ability 2(pull) RB/R1, Ability 3(Ult) Y/triangle, Secondary fire(petal platform) LB/L1, and interact(break petal platform) right on D-pad. The main thing is to get used to the left joystick being the dash, but otherwise makes his kit feel much smoother. LOVE THE VIDEOS KEEP IT UP!
For my console bros just do the same as ml and swap L2 to swap weapons, I personally would also swap leap to L3 (interact) so your grip and platform are on the bumpers/triggers
14:33 I'd also like to see a confirmation option for Life Grip. On the first day of Lifeweaver's release, I was already accidentally pulling the wrong target because someone else walked in the way or my initial target died.
On xbox: i've found that mapping the dash ability to L3 and the weapon swap to R3 the most comfortable. L3 is for movement so it flows naturally to just click the stick down and dash in that direction. R3 is for camera movement, so clicking down to swap to what you need feels natural. Didnt feel like any other swaps were necessary, just bind interact to LB or something.
Console player here (PlayStation) After messing around with his controls this set up has been super smooth and manageable for me to play as life weaver. Firstly, weapon swap as L2 Petal platform as R1 Lifegrip as L1 Dash as L3 Interact as left on the dPad. I think the most important change is weapon swapping to L2, just way quicker and more fluid to swap in and out of damage and healing. Everything else is optional but just makes the most sense for me for fluidity. Hope this helps anyone
On console I’d change the binds like this: Rejuvenating dash: L/L3 Life grip: LT/L2 Petal platform: LB/L1 Swap weapons: RB/R1 The rest I’d leave as it is
As a console Lifeweaver player I recommend the following button bindings: Primary fire: RT/ R2 Change weapon: LT/L2 Pull: LB/L1 Platform: RB/R1 Interact/Smash Platform: left on d-pad Dash: either A/X or click in left thumbstick (my jump is clicking the left thumstick so my dash is A/X) Tree: Y/Triangle
On controller I found that swapping the weapon switch (right on D-pad) and petal (LT or L2) was much more fluid. Bonus tip - I do the same for mercy (flip weapon switch and revive, which are the same buttons as above). Both petal and revive are less used therefore makes more sense to assign to the d pad right.
As a console player, here is my take on settings: I found the weapon switch on R1/RB to be the most natural-feeling. It’s the button right above the default primary fire, so I think it’s the most similar to using right click on a mouse. (Mercy’s blue beam is actually on R1/RB by default.) I think Life Grip works more naturally on the left side of the controller (I put it on L1/LB), because the ability doesn’t interrupt your healing charge, but moving your finger from R2/RT (default primary fire) to the default binding of R1/RB would interrupt the healing charge. For people with large enough hands to put separate fingers on the bumper and trigger, or have a method to press one without letting go of the other, it might not be an issue, but for me that worked best. My other bindings are more personal preference/comfort. I put the dash on L2/LT, which is where I have Tracer’s Blink bound as well. I put the platform on square, which is the default reload binding. I find that slow arced projectiles are the least worst aimed abilities to have to shoot with a face button (which requires me to take my thumb off of the aim stick). I’m using the platform much less frequently than the weapon swap, so it feels less disruptive than trying to put the weapon swap on the usual reload button.
After listening to every pro support I know, I've come to a little different set of keybindings that imo works smoother. Maybe give them a try if u feel like. - For the Dash, I've changed from LShift to Right Click (it feels a little weird knowing that most heroes have a weapon on Right Click, but I've tried every solution and this feels the best so far) - The Life Grip is changed from E to Scroll Down. The ability feels more natural and intuitive this way - The petal platform is moved from Right Click to E. This way, I feel I am more in control of where to put it. - The swap between dmg and heal weapons is changed from Scroll Down to Left Shift. This way, it's easier to change weapons, feeling more like a Lucio who constantly swaps from healing boost to Speed boost. So far, these are the most comfortable keybindings for me. I hope this helps. Cheers!
Got saved by flower twice on kings row yesterday, homie picked two of us up out of reins reach after being shattered, he switched to Zarya, graved two of us, petaled into the safe air. I was able to perfect time a pull to save an ash from a stuck pulse bomb. I really thought being able to forceably move Allie’s was going to be toxic as hell, but i get constant “thanks!” After perfect pulls. Feels great
Ok so I’m a console player and I’ve been playing around with the controls and just wanted to put my thoughts here for anyone who wanted some advice. I changed petal platform to RB (R1), reload to right on d-pad, dash to X (square), weapon swap to LB (L1) and life grip to LT (L2). I find that these changes allow me to easily swap weapons, have easy access to grip and platform and dash without thinking. I recommend highly trying to use manual reload as little as possible and opting to swap weapons instead almost every time as you really can’t afford the downtime and it’s a good rhythm to get into. Hope this helps! :)
Hii,my man. Last time watching a Necros video, I heard an Ana explaing why he is called Support. "I'am a support, not a healer because I can beat you in a 1v1 while I heal my allies" (talking to an ally dps player) As a main support, and you as my god above all skies, I LOVE IT.
I play on console and had to change his settings round SO much but after playing him for 4hrs I finally decided on what I liked. Toggle crouch - Circle Jump - X Ability 1 Rejuvenating dash - L2 Ability 2 Life grip - R1 Ability 3 Tree of life - Triangle Interact - Right dpad trigger Primary Fire Healing blossoms/Volly of thorns - R2 Secondary Petal Platform - L1 Quick Melee - R3 Reload - Square Next weapon - L3 Hopes this helps others ❤
On console, I recommend swapping the change weapon keybind to the reload keybind, as you reload automatically when on the other weapon, not perfect but its hard for me to swap weapons on console. This is what I use on Mercy.
I'm a console player and I was actually practicing fluid ways to change weapons with mercy! I found that pressing down on either the right or left thumb stick (whichever you don't want as melee) helps out a TON. and if you still want an interact key, set it to the dpad button instead :)
@@Bluemansonic that's fine! I have right stick for melee too, so that's why I use left to toggle between weapons, and then b for crouch having controller paddles though hells a *lot* when it comes to jumping and crouching
my console lifeweaver keybinds: swap weapon: left trigger primary fire: right trigger dash: left on dpad BUT i use back paddle. platform: left bumper life grip: right bumper i could recommend binding weapon swap to reload instead, because switching weapons for 1.75 seconds auto reloads your weapon, as lifeweaver takes 1.75 seconds to reload.
I play on PS5 and I find changing the weapons button from left arrow to press L3 stick provides much smoother experience. i change the dash to R1 as it's easier to evade after firing/healing so keeping those close together makes more sense. PP to L1 and lifegrasp to L2
you can counter mei ult with tree as well, If you place the tree right in the middle of blizzard it blocks almost all of the LOS, there are still some small gaps but if you keep walking you will be fine You can also lift the blizzard if pedal platform is underneath the middle and then activated, even if you are frozen at the top of the platform you still have the cover given by the platform and your team won't be frozen
CONSOLE KEYBINDS R1 - Pull R2 - Shoot R3 - Weapon Swap L1 - Dash L2 - Jump L3 Melee X - Petal Platform Triangle - Ult O - Interact Square - Reload setting weapon swap to L3 and dash to L1 allows you to be able to swap weapons and zip around without taking your fingers off of the joysticks. be precise when doing pull with r1. having petal platform with x makes you be more precise about how and when you use it and lessens the chance of you messing it up trying to potentially save someone
For Lifeweavers clunky controls I made a few adjustments (XBOX). changed ability 1 (Dash) to Up on the D-Pad, Secondary Fire (Platform) to LB, and Next Weapon to LT. Works well enough for me [Posting this again]
I love making traps as lifeweaver for my enemies, I use the petals under those small doors so when they activate it, the petal go up and blocks the door
On CONSOLE: what I did was change weapon swap from left arrow to R3, this means I rebound the interact key to left arrow. This change allows me to swap from healing to damage seamlessly but it does make it difficult to destroy the floating petal intentionally
Console Keybindings for LW: R2: Primary Fire L2: Toggle Weapon R1: Yoink/Pull L1: Flower Platform L3: Dash maybe (Normally, I set this to Jump but idk. If this can be set up like Hanzo then I would definitely set this to L3) Or smash console and switch to PC :D
Random thing but you can flick your mouse just as you release Healing Blossom to 'bend' the shot around shields. Theoretically you could have very low healing blossom sensitivity but easily curve shots around shields by flicking.
On console my jump button is L1, so theres not enough buttons for all his abilities. So I have L1 jump, L2 weapon swap, L3 life grasp, R1 dash, R2 shoot, R3 platform. My ult is trangle, interact is X, crouch O, reload square. I had to move my melee to the d pad because after playing him I realized that'd be the ability I'd use the least🌸
15:18 It's more of a floating mini shield, abilities that go through enemy shields can go through platform, like Moira's Coal, Rein's firestrike and Ram's Pummel. And yes, it's considered an "enemy barrier" even for allied lifeweavers
FOR CONSOLE BINDINGS : Personnaly, I play with the elite series 2 controller so with paddles and I think it’s a must have to have paddles to play this Hero on controller… I kept the default settings for all the spells except next weapon which I put on one paddle. I use the others paddles for the same abilities for all the heroes : jump, crouch (no toggle, I prefere , to avoid dammage) and ping If u don’t have a controller with paddles, good luck to play efficient with him but mb some1 find a good idea different of using right cross for next weapon 😅
Ive been seeing a lot of confusion about how firestrike, ramatra punches, and coalescence can go througb the platform. It is considered a shield by damaging and healing abilities. Utility abilities like turrets, widow grappel, etc. will interact as a piece of terrain. Its weird, but looking at the platform's design, it kinda males sense, especially when you look at the hitbox for said utility item interactions
I can't believe I haven't seen this yet you can charge a heal before pulling an ally and cast it on them while they are flying to you a good way to help a pulled ally recover quicker
For console key binds, I did something very similar. For me (Xbox), weapon swap is LT and my platform is LB. Life Grip is the same but my dash is on left stick which is movement anyways so it makes sense to me. Interact is then right on the D-pad and it all makes sense to me!
I'm a console player (playstation). The keybind I'm most likely to go with is heal/damage on R1, weapon swap on L1, petal platform on R2, dash on L2, and life grip on X.
I changed weapon switch to x (A) and changed interact to d pad. I'm gonna also try changing weapon switch to R3 (right stick click) to minimize time taking my hand off other important abilities, jump has been waay more fun when I changed it to L3 for other heroes. Of course if you're a tryhard on console and have extra buttons none of this matters anyway.
weapon swap on right click was the first thing I changed before seeing this video and omg its so beneficial and makes him flow better. I also prefer his dash on shift cuz its basically a cass roll but you can get extra distance the way brig can by hitting space bar at the end of the dash. However I put my petal on Q and ultimate on Z since I also play apex and Q is ability usage there and Z is ultimate.
The problem with lifegrip is uncoordinated teams not communicating. I've been pulled back when pressing advantage as tank but never had a helpful grip used on me
People forget that mei wall has *more* trolling potential than LW's yoink. Block almost any friendly ult, trap a tank in a bad position, prevent supports healing, trap people in spawn unless they walk all the way out the back... But we don't actually see that at all, unless it is an accident. I think it'll be similar for LW.
I'm so happy to see my idea for his keybinds reaffirmed. I was thinking about putting next weapon on right click as well, it definitely makes the most sense
Saaaaame, just making sure; so if you press right click does he shoot or does it just make you 'swap' to the next weapon and you heal/dmg with left click instead? cause i have the latter one, it's not like mercys wand that has both heal and dmg boost at the same time
Console LW main, i mapped my weapon swap to my reload and put reload on right dpad, i found this to be smooth for me!! especially since you shoot a little bit then you hit reload button to heal a few ppl throw out some support skills, then boom hit the new swap button and youre smoothly back to being a thorn in someones side!!
Console settings for lifeweaver: These are my preferred settings for lifeweaver, everything else is set the same except for these settings * Next weapon/switch weapons - LT/L2 (I set this setting to where I usually press secondary fire to make swapping weapons more fluid) * Ability 1(dash) - press Left joystick/L3 (This helps me to be more fluid when moving) * Interact - set to my spray button/up d-pad (Because i dont use spray as much) * Secondary Fire(platform) - LB/L1
I feel like his default keybindings on console for the most part will be fine. Primary Fire on R2/RT Platform on L2/LT Not sure which is ability 1 and which is ability 2 between his dash and yoink, but one will be R1/RB, and the other will be L1/LB. The only one I don't like is swapping weapons, which is right on the d-pad. It always feels kinda clunky when playing mercy or torb, but fortunately you don't need to switch that often on those heroes. Lifeweaver is going to have to switch a LOT more often, so my plan is to bind Weapon switch to clicking the left stick, which is normally interact. Then move interact to the d-pad.
what i want for a setting is a confirm target like with ana or echo bc if u yoink someone else then the person needing it people are gonna start getting upset no matter my good intensions
As a support console player, i've bound the dash on L3 (easier and more intuitive), the petal platform to L1 and the weapon swap to L2 (wich is basically the same as the right click you did for M&K.) Oh, and of course the input to destroy your petal platform to Right Arrow (don't even let me start on the controller default bindings, it was basically UNPLAYABLE 😂)
i play on playstation and i’m going to have my key binds as primary fire-r2 life grip-l2 pedal platform-r1 rejuvenating dash-l1 weapon swap-leftstick interact-right dpad
You can rez on petal platform too. The soul goes up with you if the petal is under it. You can also start a rez and wait like 1 second then go to the platform and it wont cancel the rez even if the soul is not on it.
I play on console and the biggest thing for me was binding wapon swap to L1 makes it so much more easy to swap between healing and damage. Then I binded dash to cirkel. This does mean I lose crouch but I don't do that much anyway. ( I'm doing this at the top ofy head so maybe I forget something ) It made it so much more easy to play him for me.
For controller, I would recommend swapping your ult button (triangle or... y? Not sure), with right on the dpad which is the default weapon swap button. Feels a lot more fluid and like other shooters.
On xbox I changed his settings to weapon swap as left trigger, his dash as left stick in, petal as left bumper (think that's the same) and then the destroy as right on the dpad, and the pull as right bumper (might be normal aswell) :)
On ps5 it's still my first day as Lifeweaver but I think I decided on a control scheme I like; Weapon switch on L3(pressing left thumb stick) Dash on L2 Pull on L1 Interact on right Dpad Primary fire R2 Petal platform R1 I do keep accidentally platforming instead of pulling people but I think that's just because it's the first day, I keep trying to shoot healing at the enemy too for instance.
The controller binds are weird too. I swapped the interact and switch weapon binds since i dont destroy my platforms that often. I also swapped place platform and dash since I use the dash more.
The bindings for controller I have found best is to put the weapon swap on the LS click, a lot more fluent that way compared to on the d-pad as you are doing it constantly when playing as lifeweaver. As for abilities I put life grip on LT/L2 as that’s what felt natural, Dash on LB/L1 feels OK but I just wish it was built in like Hanzo’s. Then Platform on RB/R1 - give it a go if anyone is struggling as that’s what feels best for me after playing around with it! Any suggestions on better please feel free to add to this as I’m open to ideas 😃
For ps5 I have: Switch weapons on L2 Primary fire on R2 Grasp on R1 Dash on L1 Platform on L3/ left joystick ( you can press it like a button) Ultimate on triangle Destroy platform on the left arrow key I don’t feel that you will have to destroy the platform that often so it is moved
For console I highly suggest changing petal to x/square, and using left trigger for weapon swap. Feels great to switch between his weapons and instead of reloading just swap weapons or let auto reload do the job.
Haven't had a chance to play him yet but my planned console bindings below. RT primary RB life grip LT petal blossom LB jump L3 Dash A weapon switch Y ultimate
For console I put the change weapon to L2 and then moved dash to circle. Then petal or pull can be either R1 or L1. If you have pull L1 you can pull and charge a heal but it feels like a lot to do in a couple of seconds. Maybe just need to get used to it..
I changed my weapon switch to right click my pull to mouse wheel and petal to E. It feel's much better now. Tapping the right mouse button to switch while holding the left mouse mutton charges/shoots automatically so you can just constantly hold down left and tap right to change when you want.
So i did the right click to change weapons and its awesome, Great tip. I use E for flower thingy and then the two mouse buttons for Mele and Pull ability. Now its much easier to play

Like the text having the pan flag colors. Nice touch

Hello everyone! I’m a Masters support player on console and these are my bidding’s so far on PS5 based on all the video’s I’ve seen and how fluid it felt in the practice range so far. Need to test more in games, but the biddings are:
Reload: R1 (This lets me switch super easy and fast between weapons while I keep shooting or healing my allies in heated situations with R2)
Ability 1: Square (Normally we have reload here, but since we switch so much between the weapons you will normally be reloaded on that other weapon before going back to it, gotta test it more if I need to key bind a key reload later) This let’s me move, shoot and position myself without interrupting any of the concepts mentioned.
Ability 2: L1
Secondary Fire: L2 (These two key binds let’s me platform easy and pull an ally to it fairly easy since they’re next to each other)
The other bindings stayed the same, to break the platform or interact are on L3. Melee is R3, Ult is Triangle (build R2 or cancel L2)
Hope this helps someone and if someone comes up with something please share it to test it as well! 🥰
4:52 I think I’ve found the optimum button layout for controller but it still feels a bit clunky when changing weapons.
-Change weapon: Right Bumper
-Shoot: Right Trigger
-Petal Platform: Left Bumper
-Rejuvenating Dash: Left Trigger
-Life Grip: Left Stick in
Every other button is default.
ALSO in Lifeweaver’s options change “Secondary fire cancels primary fire” to OFF. It’s on by default which means your charged up healing gets cancelled if you want to platform up.
Hope this helps someone! :D
As a console player, here’s what I’m going to do for key binds (not 100% sure of these yet, dash and petal might be swapped)
Primary Fire- R2
Weapon swap- L2
Dash - R1
Petal- L1
Life Grip- Circle (A for Xbox/Switch)
Interact- D-Pad
Since the default weapon swap on console is on the d-pad you’ll be taking your finger off the movement joystick every time you switch weapon. L2 made the most sense to me for weapon swap since a lot of console players already use L3 for crouch and it feels a little more fluid after testing on torb. If crouch is still on circle (default), L3 would be what I’d use for weapon swap (what I have for Mercy).
love how u used the pan flag colours for the text xD
Having a roadhog hook you can use on your teammates to stop them from falling and getting them out of a dangerous situation is huge
Can confirm, I played Illios (Well) today and I only was able to hook 1-2 enemies successfully bc Life.
Hey, console player here. I played around in firing range to rebind, and this is what I found to be most comfortable (Note: I play on ps5, comfort may change on xbox).
Rebinds
Ability 1 (Dash): L3, making it comfortable to use at all times
Ability 2 (Lifegrip): I use default bind, R1/RB
Ability 3 (Ult): Default, Triangle/Y
Secondary Fire (Platform): L1/LB
Next Weapon: L2/LT
Interact: Right or Down D-Pad (Personally I use right)
Keep everything else default.
Of course this may vary based on your own comfort, so change accordingly.
His settings are very awkward on controller even with these changes, so it’ll take time to get used to. Hope this helps :)
Great video! There are SO many interactions with this hero, it is crazier than any other hero before bc most of his kit is unprecedented.
On controller to switch between dmg and hls its the Dpad wich is just super awkward so you could swap it with interact since you dont need it all the time
you could also swap it with reload, as switching weapons for the reload time, auto reloads your weapon :p
I’m thinking of switching my ult button with my switch weapons button bc I feel like that will make it more fluid
That’s gonna change with the new spawn point changes
@@ItzSylk thats.... actually kinda genius, hope you dont mind if i steal this idea to use myself
So, I change the settings or not ?
3:50 this is the same issue on Ana with nano confirmation for those of us who rebind ADS to a different button (personally I use a mouse thumb button). I really hope they will add an option for cancel to always be on right click (or customizable) even if the normal right click ability is rebound.
Had a lot of fun playing him today! I think he’s pretty balanced so far, although my number one gripe is how big his hit box is.
For console, i would suggest you switch the primary healing and dmg from the d-pad to your left stick click. It would be much more fluid.
Leave the left stick for "Interact", trust 😅 cause you'll need it to break the plataform and enter tp as he's great with Symmetra
why not use weapon as the left trigger? then put the previous bind (dpad) on reload since you dont have to reload as often. keep your interact for sym tp and breaking platform
15:16 Another exception seems to be Ramattra's punch. Ramattra can punch right through the platform from below and damage anyone on top of it.
Console player here (PlayStation)
After messing around with his controls this set up has been super smooth and manageable for me to play as life weaver.
Firstly, weapon swap as L2
Petal platform as R1
Lifegrip as L1
Dash as L3
Interact as left on the dPad.
I think the most important change is weapon swapping to L2, just way quicker and more fluid to swap in and out of damage and healing. Everything else is optional but just makes the most sense for me for fluidity.
Hope this helps anyone
As a console player, the right + to swap weapons doesn’t feel too clunky, it’s by my thumb and I’m used to it from Mercy and Torb
On console I’d change the binds like this:
Rejuvenating dash: L/L3
Life grip: LT/L2
Petal platform: LB/L1
Swap weapons: RB/R1
The rest I’d leave as it is
As a console Lifeweaver player I recommend the following button bindings:
Primary fire: RT/ R2
Change weapon: LT/L2
Pull: LB/L1
Platform: RB/R1
Interact/Smash Platform: left on d-pad
Dash: either A/X or click in left thumbstick (my jump is clicking the left thumstick so my dash is A/X)
Tree: Y/Triangle
On controller I found that swapping the weapon switch (right on D-pad) and petal (LT or L2) was much more fluid.
Bonus tip - I do the same for mercy (flip weapon switch and revive, which are the same buttons as above).
Both petal and revive are less used therefore makes more sense to assign to the d pad right.
As a console player, here is my take on settings:
I found the weapon switch on R1/RB to be the most natural-feeling. It’s the button right above the default primary fire, so I think it’s the most similar to using right click on a mouse. (Mercy’s blue beam is actually on R1/RB by default.)
I think Life Grip works more naturally on the left side of the controller (I put it on L1/LB), because the ability doesn’t interrupt your healing charge, but moving your finger from R2/RT (default primary fire) to the default binding of R1/RB would interrupt the healing charge.
Hope everyone's day is going great!
😊
Mines great hows yours mate ?
@@XLR8_accelerate_yours great hows mine mate?
After listening to every pro support I know, I've come to a little different set of keybindings that imo works smoother. Maybe give them a try if u feel like.
- For the Dash, I've changed from LShift to Right Click (it feels a little weird knowing that most heroes have a weapon on Right Click, but I've tried every solution and this feels the best so far)
- The Life Grip is changed from E to Scroll Down. The ability feels more natural and intuitive this way
- The petal platform is moved from Right Click to E.
"I'am a support, not a healer because I can beat you in a 1v1 while I heal my allies" (talking to an ally dps player)
As a main support, and you as my god above all skies, I LOVE IT.
I play on console and had to change his settings round SO much but after playing him for 4hrs I finally decided on what I liked.
Toggle crouch - Circle
Jump - X
Ability 1 Rejuvenating dash - L2
Ability 2 Life grip - R1
Ability 3 Tree of life - Triangle
Interact - Right dpad trigger
Primary Fire Healing blossoms/Volly of thorns - R2
Secondary Petal Platform - L1
Quick Melee - R3
Reload - Square
Next weapon - L3
Hopes this helps others ❤
On console, I recommend swapping the change weapon keybind to the reload keybind, as you reload automatically when on the other weapon, not perfect but its hard for me to swap weapons on console. This is what I use on Mercy.
interesting, ty i'll try that out. Ima be honest I dont even have mercys glock or torbs hammer bound on console
I'm a console player and I was actually practicing fluid ways to change weapons with mercy! I found that pressing down on either the right or left thumb stick (whichever you don't want as melee) helps out a TON. and if you still want an interact key, set it to the dpad button instead :)
I use Right Stick to Melee on every Hero so I'm curious your reasoning why you suggest not to
Just use the left stick for switching weapons it’s perfect
@@brandenr5937 I use L Stick to crouch on every Hero and B to swap weapons for Lifeweaver
@@Bluemansonic that's fine! I have right stick for melee too, so that's why I use left to toggle between weapons, and then b for crouch
having controller paddles though hells a *lot* when it comes to jumping and crouching
my console lifeweaver keybinds:
swap weapon: left trigger
primary fire: right trigger
dash: left on dpad BUT i use back paddle.
platform: left bumper
life grip: right bumper
i could recommend binding weapon swap to reload instead, because switching weapons for 1.75 seconds auto reloads your weapon, as lifeweaver takes 1.75 seconds to reload.
I play on PS5 and I find changing the weapons button from left arrow to press L3 stick provides much smoother experience. i change the dash to R1 as it's easier to evade after firing/healing so keeping those close together makes more sense. PP to L1 and lifegrasp to L2
you can counter mei ult with tree as well, If you place the tree right in the middle of blizzard it blocks almost all of the LOS, there are still some small gaps but if you keep walking you will be fine
You can also lift the blizzard if pedal platform is underneath the middle and then activated, even if you are frozen at the top of the platform you still have the cover given by the platform and your team won't be frozen
CONSOLE KEYBINDS
R1 - Pull
R2 - Shoot
R3 - Weapon Swap
L1 - Dash
L2 - Jump
L3 Melee
X - Petal Platform
Triangle - Ult
O - Interact
Square - Reload
setting weapon swap to L3 and dash to L1 allows you to be able to swap weapons and zip around without taking your fingers off of the joysticks. be precise when doing pull with r1. having petal platform with x makes you be more precise about how and when you use it and lessens the chance of you messing it up trying to potentially save someone
For Lifeweavers clunky controls I made a few adjustments (XBOX).
changed ability 1 (Dash) to Up on the D-Pad,
Secondary Fire (Platform) to LB,
and Next Weapon to LT. Works well enough for me [Posting this again]
mL7 is the goat when it comes to support, always love your videos and all the great things you do for the community
Thanks for the video ML. Your settings really helped me out. I'm ready to grind to be the best LifeWeaver I can be
I love making traps as lifeweaver for my enemies, I use the petals under those small doors so when they activate it, the petal go up and blocks the door
Lifeweaver is like Thresh from League, but you're force-pulling the enemies, instead of giving them the option to get pulled. I love it
On CONSOLE:
what I did was change weapon swap from left arrow to R3,
this means I rebound the interact key to left arrow. This change allows me to swap from healing to damage seamlessly but it does make it difficult to destroy the floating petal intentionally
Lifeweaver goals: Teammate launches MechBomb, enemies hide behind object, I swoop in and elevate them on platform into bomb radius *applause*
Is there an ideal healing number you want to charge to, to get the most efficient balance between speed and healing to increase the HPS?
the highest hps so 37.5, get as close as possible to that number

Console Keybindings for LW:
R2: Primary Fire
L2: Toggle Weapon
R1: Yoink/Pull
L1: Flower Platform
L3: Dash maybe (Normally, I set this to Jump but idk. If this can be set up like Hanzo then I would definitely set this to L3)
Or smash console and switch to PC :D
With console i like to put the gun swap on the L2 and put the petal plataform on another button, with this setting you have a big control with him
15:18 It's more of a floating mini shield, abilities that go through enemy shields can go through platform, like Moira's Coal, Rein's firestrike and Ram's Pummel. And yes, it's considered an "enemy barrier" even for allied lifeweavers
He replied to another comment saying ram couldn’t punch through it. So it’s unique in just that way.
For the console change 'swap weapon' to 'left Trigger' so you don't have to take your thumb off the 'aim joystick' to hit swap weapon'
21:07 speedy thing goes in...speedy thing comes out
FOR CONSOLE BINDINGS :
Personnaly, I play with the elite series 2 controller so with paddles and I think it’s a must have to have paddles to play this Hero on controller…
I kept the default settings for all the spells except next weapon which I put on one paddle.
I use the others paddles for the same abilities for all the heroes : jump, crouch (no toggle, I prefere
, to avoid dammage) and ping
If u don’t have a controller with paddles, good luck to play efficient with him but mb some1 find a good idea different of using right cross for next weapon 😅
Thanks for the tips ML7! You’re the best 😊
Console settings for lifeweaver:
These are my preferred settings for lifeweaver, everything else is set the same except for these settings
* Next weapon/switch weapons - LT/L2
(I set this setting to where I usually press secondary fire to make swapping weapons more fluid)
* Ability 1(dash) - press Left joystick/L3
(This helps me to be more fluid when moving)
* Interact - set to my spray button/up d-pad
(Because i dont use spray as much)
* Secondary Fire(platform) - LB/L1
I feel like his default keybindings on console for the most part will be fine.
Primary Fire on R2/RT
Platform on L2/LT
Not sure which is ability 1 and which is ability 2 between his dash and yoink, but one will be R1/RB, and the other will be L1/LB.
I prefer the pull the be scroll down, and petal to be E. Great tips though! ♥
15:17 Moira pierces shields. The platform has health. Coalescence going through makes sense.
what i want for a setting is a confirm target like with ana or echo bc if u yoink someone else then the person needing it people are gonna start getting upset no matter my good intensions
Something I found helpful was to bind weapon swap to q as it feels more natural due to playing a lot of cs.
As a support console player, i've bound the dash on L3 (easier and more intuitive), the petal platform to L1 and the weapon swap to L2 (wich is basically the same as the right click you did for M&K.)
Oh, and of course the input to destroy your petal platform to Right Arrow (don't even let me start on the controller default bindings, it was basically UNPLAYABLE 😂)
i play on playstation and i’m going to have my key binds as
primary fire-r2
life grip-l2
pedal platform-r1
rejuvenating dash-l1
weapon swap-leftstick
interact-right dpad
I was going to change the weapon swap to reload it does the same thing anyways.
@@edb36mar that’s actually a great idea, might try it
3:35 I can hear the Reaper complaining about the grab
You can rez on petal platform too. The soul goes up with you if the petal is under it. You can also start a rez and wait like 1 second then go to the platform and it wont cancel the rez even if the soul is not on it.
Fantastic - can’t wait for the advanced guide!
On ps5 it's still my first day as Lifeweaver but I think I decided on a control scheme I like;
Weapon switch on L3(pressing left thumb stick)
Dash on L2
Pull on L1
Interact on right Dpad
Primary fire R2
Petal platform R1
I do keep accidentally platforming instead of pulling people but I think that's just because it's the first day, I keep trying to shoot healing at the enemy too for instance.
For ps5 I have:
Switch weapons on L2
Primary fire on R2
Grasp on R1
Dash on L1
Platform on L3/ left joystick ( you can press it like a button)
Ultimate on triangle
Destroy platform on the left arrow key
I don’t feel that you will have to destroy the platform that often so it is moved
For console I highly suggest changing petal to x/square, and using left trigger for weapon swap.
Feels great to switch between his weapons and instead of reloading just swap weapons or let auto reload do the job.
Haven't had a chance to play him yet but my planned console bindings below.
RT primary
RB life grip
LT petal blossom
LB jump
L3 Dash
A weapon switch
Y ultimate
For console I put the change weapon to L2 and then moved dash to circle. Then petal or pull can be either R1 or L1. If you have pull L1 you can pull and charge a heal but it feels like a lot to do in a couple of seconds. Maybe just need to get used to it..
I changed my weapon switch to right click my pull to mouse wheel and petal to E. It feel's much better now. Tapping the right mouse button to switch while holding the left mouse mutton charges/shoots automatically so you can just constantly hold down left and tap right to change when you want.
Love the pan colours for the texts
thank you for the rose Olaf ❤
Positioning is so important in OW. A positioning support character will give huge impact. Wifeleaver will destroy families.
Im on xbox and i made lifeweavers swap weapon to LT, it just felt so much more fluid and better.
Great vid.
So i did the right click to change weapons and its awesome, Great tip. I use E for flower thingy and then the two mouse buttons for Mele and Pull ability. Now its much easier to play
Appreciate this sir, I did the weapon swap to Y on xbox it feels super smooth now, ult is on right dpad an it works, no accidental trees lol
