The claim of "Jesus loves you, but under his conditions" is very harmful.
Sensible people go fast in the spiritual trap,
where they never feel they did enough, always guilty, always feel what you try to do good isnt good etc etc.
By claiming that Jesus is love those people fast feel excluded from love or unworth experiencing love.
That can make people become desperate and bitter.
Religion seems to be something for rough people.
As a Deist I send you a lot human love.

It seems like your self sacrificing nature stayed with you even when religious belief didn't.

Well I'm not a Christian & although I love the story of Jesus I do not believe The Bible is God's word.
I was born & raised in an atheist family & was told by my mom that there is no God. And yet spiritual beings kept taking me to see the heavens & a magnificent tree. And when I was 5 yrs old one of the beings took me to Hell to watch huge shirtless guards with long spears herding people out of a cave to an open air courtroom next to a lake of fire.
The people were brought before the judge one by one & then thrown off the cliff into the lake of fire. I was taken to the edge to watch them burning in agony as their flesh dripped off & they reached up & screamed for mercy. I can still remember it clearly. I had no idea who God was or what Hell was so I did not know what I was being shown. But over the years I have been taken back again & again to watch people being judged & burned in the lake of fire.
So I do believe in Hell although you are perfectly entitled to your own beliefs.
Have a great day or night wherever you are

Well as they say there is nothing against the notion that god is evil, which seems to be what you suggest.

Hey it’s Brooks from the live I’m not the best at trying to explain stuff but I’ll try my best
The belief you have that you’re not good enough to go to heaven is completely true which is one of the toughest parts to accept about Christianity but the thing you get wrong is you actually are able to get to heaven let me explain.
this is true because the punishment for sin is death and we have all sinned because as soon as Eve ate from the tree of knowledge she plagued humanity with sin but theres a catch
God sent his son Jesus down to earth to live a sinless life and die on a cross for our sins meaning that the sins we’ve committed would be put on Jesus so that we may be redeemed through his sacrifice
We don’t deserve heaven but in Gods love he sent Jesus to die for us that we may be free from our sin and be able to live with him in heaven
Not very good at explaining stuff but if you have questions ask me I’ll try to help
