If Messi or Ronaldo or Mbappe scored the Russo goal we'd be talking about it for years. I will be talking about "doing a Russo" for years anyway, contender for goal of the year imho. I've really enjoyed watching this Women's Euros. The standard of the game across all the nations has increased massively over recent years and it's such a joy to watch, in a lot of areas better than the men, with an expectation to win which is lovely. I don't care if it's France or Germany, I reckon this team can beat anyone at the moment. Keep the same starting line up. Keep Russo, Kelly and "Toon Toon" Toone for the last half hour - why change a winning formula for the final and most important game. Well done ladies, I'm sure Qatar won't be as exciting.
Yes and we'd also be raving about Man United's academy which is more than could be said on the men's side. I mean the turd we hear about Ronaldo being forced to stay and that Russo comes on, no nonsense, scores a worldie yet barely a word about that on United's website. It's sickening but anyhow.

The ONLY negative I see so far with England is that they are starting games a bit slowly. You don’t want your opponent to capitalize on that and get a lead like Spain did. I’m sure Wiegman will address that with the players. Much easier to sit on a lead.
They seems to start slow most of the time, in the 2019 world cup they were two nil down against the US team in the first twenty minutes, but at the end they were unlucky to loose 2-1, having missed a penalty. This time they were not punished by Sweden, but that is football. Serena is blessed with more talented players, than ever before, Russo, Hemp, Mead, Williamson, Toon, to name a few.

Yes spot on, I watched Germany VS France and whilst France were unlucky, Germany's intensity is absolutely insane. We'll struggle big time. I don't think we're favorites and I don't see us beating Germany
@@postcardsfromprotest I just judged on evidence, I carefully watched the France game, I'm not that confident TBH, the Germans look like a bunch of Dobermans on steroids, we look more like Fox Terriers but then again it's a dog eat dog world pardon the pun. I just dread Germany.

So refreshing, such a huge contrast with the men's side, Sweden were no pushovers but what impressed me was the relentlessness til the final whistle. Where the men's side would sit back and park the bus, this side played with swagger, physicality. I mean the Swedes were probably one of the biggest aerial threats - with Germany, but we were absolutely superb. I still see Germany as favorites, Popp is possibly the best player right now, but if England can start better then maybe they might beat Germany. It's still a massive achievement, I've got to be honest, I'd rather follow this women's side than the snoozefest we'll get in December with Southgate and co.
@@postcardsfromprotest Yeah but the Arnold cup is akin to the men's version of the Nation's league. I truly believe in this team but I still think there's an 'English curse syndrome'. I hope this can end on Sunday but it seems to me that each time, whether it be football or rugby or even tennis, whilst we do tremendously well, we bottle it when it matters. I still recall 2019 very lividly, we couldn't have had a better chance of beating America but we bottled it. I guess I'm wary and extremely cautious.
@@postcardsfromprotest I don't recall us being outplayed by the USA but rather tactical ineptitude by Phil Neville. Germany are a very compact and technical team. We struggled against Spain but then again we played Sweden off the park. It depends on how we start. I don't think we can afford to let Germany take control. They're relentless. France struggled in the 2nd half yet the French do have a physical back 4.

Not really a top tier opponent no women team is compared to men's football. Also England reached the euro final and beat Germany who are a top tier team..... But why even compare to Southgate focus on the womens euros
They are the second ranked team in the world. USA is first so in this tournament I would consider the Swedes a top tier team. I'm willing to bet the woman's team gets farther in their world cup than the British men's team does in theirs
@@nickoforesta5788 the British men have won a world Cup and reached a semi final a non league mens team would dominate a womens team if you realised that mens football is a lot more competitive and harder to play against where as in women's football there isn't much competition look at when the lionesses played Norway won 8 nil when do you ever see that in a euros women's may do as good as men's but because its a lot easier

She has coached men's professional football in Holland as assistant coach. You are only as good as your team on the day and she has created a mutual respect set up on all sides as she eluded to in the interview. The most telling part in the interview is the fact the opposition is not important but how you play and adapt but most of all believe in yourself. Any coach in any sport will vouch for that. The thing she has instilled is don't leave anything on the pitch, give your all and success will follow.

I love Wiegman's original, pragmatic thinking. She seems to bring on players far earlier than most, for positive tactical reasons rather than simply a fraction to the opponents. She manages her players so well off the pitch, in training and in-game. Can't wait for the World Cup, men's and women's, but the women's will be more enjoyable, I'll bet.

People keep saying how well England have done.They played Austria who last scored a goal when we where still using the horse and cart.Norway simply did not turn up. and the last time Northern Ireland beat anyone, that was again'st the Blind school, so we where always going to get to the Semi Finales at least.When we did come up again'st anyone decent i.e. Spain they murdered us but could not Finish, then we beat a very poor Sweden side who's goalkeeper must have been on the sauce the night before because she was dreadful, so after we get beat by either France or Germany the tears will flow and i will be loving it.

They played Austria who last scored a goal when we where still using the horse and cart...... In their WC group, austria have played 8 and scored 40 , including 3 x 8-0 , 6-0 and 5-0. so i think that counts as scoring goals. Not sure where the horse and cart come in to it though :) .Norway simply did not turn up. Previous Euro winners ,but you never know who will dangerous until kick off. Spain they murdered us but could not Finish, so we beat a decent team then ? ( actually ranked higher than us at the time ) . then we beat a very poor Sweden side. They were ranked 2nd in the world at the time. and favourites to win the Euros. People keep saying how well England have done. Maybe its because we DID do well ? :) 4 of the 7 teams we beat were ranked higher than us at the time. I'd say thats pretty well done :)
