I've been angry enough in my life to smash walls with my fist but I have never actively hit anyone. I've found that those who smash things usually do it so they release the frustration they feel towards another person. If he was an abusive person and wanted to hurt his spouse... he wouldn't have smashed his stuff, he would have hit her. (Before some pedant chimes in, yes, I know that's not a universal truth. How the heck did she think this would help her case? He's angry and upset and she tries to goad him into getting violent, but he doesn't lay a hand on her. This, together with the recordings of her either admitting to hitting him or getting mad at him for walking away from their fights, show that he was a victim of domestic violence, not a perpetrator. i agree, but something you should know too is a lot of people often don't realize they're in a toxic relationship until it's pointed out to them. to the outside world, yes, why would you stay with somebody who's insane? it doesn't make any sense? but you gotta remember that, initially, people likely don't show signs of being toxic in order to get others' to like them. then, over time, their toxic habits start showing and others' think it's just a "quirk" of the person, and don't think much of it. you let that happen over a long enough period of time, you don't realize you're in a toxic relationship until it's too late sometimes.
