I absolutely love this series of videos. Those 4 ladies who requested you to take their photo do not know or will never know that they asked one of worlds most renowned photographers to take their click on their iPhone.
Another fantastic video of street photography. What I appreciate so much about the photos is that you let the people in their value. Thank you so much for sharing.
just discovered your channel after seeing the headline of photography in Brighton,my home city. Fantastic eye brilliant pictures. Made me miss Brighton.
Another cracking video Jeff, I cannot fathom out why you don't have more subscribers. I learn so much from watching these videos you post, but also find them fascinating. Thanks for posting them fellah.
I think it's because he doesn't take photos of people from 50 yards away, from behind in strong shadow and then call is "street photography" like most RUclipsrs. A shame, because this is the kind of street photography we should all aspire to.
First and foremost, I thoroughly enjoyed your videos just for what they are. Thank you. Secondly, I stumbled upon them completely by chance. I typed, Leica M System into the search box and your video appeared. I’ve typed those words multiple times and never once did your contributions to my decision struggles ever come into play. But today when perhaps I needed them the most, there they were. I’ve been going back and forth for weeks (since this June) on which lens to purchase. Leica Elmar M 24mm f3.8 asph or the Leica Super Elmar M 21mm f3.4 asph. I was leaning towards the 21 but desperately wanted to see actual images captured using that focal length. And after all this time, TA DAH!, there you were. Thank you for helping spend my money with absolute confidence that 21mm f3.4 is the right decision. Be Blessed, Doc Chaps. PS: My favorite expression is in Black and White photography.
Thank you for your kind words. Ours is a new channel so I guess Google has decided to index it!! The main advantage for me with the 21 over the 24, is the increased depth of field when shooting zonally. There isn't enough of a difference in focal length and field of view to recommend the 24 over the 21. I also think the 21 is more of a classic Leica length. My mind immediately thinks of Jeanloup Sieff's fashion and landscape images, Klein's street photographs, Depardon's documentary and street imagery, and Tim Page's war photographs.
A really nice set of images here!, I can't wait for nice weather here in Michigan to get out shooting like this. Thanks for sharing. I came across your channel this week and love the content. Keep it coming!
Thank you for watching!! There is something about the 21mm. I agree. However, for me it got a little boring after a couple of years. It does certain things well and I found myself using it for those things all the time.
Thanks for your comment. Glad you liked it. We all have different opinions on what makes a good picture. Sarah would have chosen something different to what I chose.
For wide-angle street (beach) photography, I zone focus the 21mm Summilux and the 35mm f/1.4 Zeiss Distagon. Loved your images. Really loved the one of the little girl tripping (@1:41). Wish I had captured that.
@@jkroemer2685 Yes, I usually set my 35mm lens to f/8 and set the focus distance to 5 meters or 15 feet This gives me a depth-of-field from 2 1/2 meters to almost infinity or 8-feet to almost infinity. For my 21mm lens, I set the aperture to f/8 and set the focus distance to 2-meters or 6-feet. This gives me a depth-of-field from 1-meter to almost infinity or 3-feet to almost infinity.
When you take the pictures are you nailing the framing or is some done with cropping? When I try with my fuji xpro 2 I can never quite get things right in frame without using the viewfinder. Thanks
Most of the images you see are pretty much as they were shot. Some may have a slight crop to take away something distracting on the edges but I want that wide-angle look. Cropping tighter would lose that. Having said this, there are a couple of images which have been cropped a little tighter. I simply couldn’t get close enough when I saw the image and I didn’t want to lose what I saw just because I wasn’t close enough. It’s hard to shoot this way as it can be frustrating at first, but practice and perseverance and, most importantly, sticking to one lens are the keys.
@@WalkLikeAlice thank you, I figured it was a matter of practice, I can never quite get the camera pointed at the right angle! Do you use the view finder on top much? Thanks
@@paulpearce7375 with the 21mm there are no frame lines in the viewfinder and it isn’t wide enough to see the angle of view that the lens sees, so I have to use the external finder whenever I need to step back and compose an image.
I feel the same way from other comment. I stumble your videos searching for Leica Monochrom. Do you use orange or red filter bc the clouds just pop! Great videos! Subscribed click👍
Well, I'm an "Amsterdam-tele-street-photographer" but here are some beautiful scenes and photos, especially the one at 2.57 is really (n)ice ! ! Maybe I have to try 35mm too for a while :-))
I really enjoyed looking at each scene wondering what part of it you'd photograph, I got a few right, lol. It looks like you take your pics while still moving - if that's so, how do you manage that? Or are you stopping. Loved the pic with the kid in the pushchair, it's awful how often we see that, those parents don't know just how quickly that kid will grow up and they'll regret spending so much time glued to their phones.
I take quite a few photos while moving. It’s just a case of making sure my shutter speed is high and I’ve got my distances correct when pre-focusing :)
Great content guys :) Just a short question, what do you use to keep the camera on you (or hanging, it's not clear) and is it smth like gopro or a phone?
An observation not a criticism … Just like yourselves I am a long time ,avid Street Photographer, with a similar photographic eye to yourselves. But you seem brave enough to do what I fight shy of, and that is including children; very frustrating because they can be incredible subjects. How do you rationalise this? Perhaps walking with your lady helps? I dread the thought of being challenged by an angry parent if spotted…. This is a daily dilemma for me, and frustrating because In miss so many great opportunities. ….A great subject for a future video perhaps ? I have just transferred from an RX100 V to acLEICA Q 116 …and loving it…
As a serious question, that could be the difference in cultures or it could be the YT algorithm filtering out all the UK content in favour of US/Canada. So you don’t see the bad stuff. As a non-serious question, we invented the damn thing 😆
Really love your videos. Well made and great and real street photography with people in the photos. Hope you make some more videos.
Thanks Daniel. Glad you like them. Plenty more videos on their way 👍
love the pram photo, sums up modern life of people on their phones all the time

You are very kind. I just hope I got it in focus for them 🤪
Great video with some cool photos. That pic of the boy in his chair was so sad, but story telling at its best 👍
Thank you.
Underratedest yt Channel ever
It's still very new!!

Enjoyed this a lot and the music was great. It's great to hear how some of the photos were taken such as the couple with the masks.

GoPro. Mine is just attached to the strap on my bag :)

Out of curiosity what aperture you shoot on the street on 21mm? Would 5.6 be enough to get everything you need in focus?
Thank you. Yes, f5.6 is what I use mostly unless it gets very bright. I also use f4 quite a lot with the 21mm.

Work quickly. Read the situation and don’t draw attention.
When you took the sample drink I was shouting at the screen ‘don’t do it’ I fell for the same vendor in Manchester but binned it after a sip 🤢
I have a weakness for coffee. What can I say 😂
Which camera bag are you using here? Thanks ~t
It’s a Domke F2. I like it because it’s waterproof, lightweight and can pack down flat in a suitcase if I’m travelling.
The best photography videos mostly come out of Britain. Why ?
RS. Canada

No. This was shot with a colour camera and converted to b/w in Lightroom
