I love listening to your supportive conversations. It took me so many years to manage my mental health, but I think I got it down. I’m already 71 years old. After six years on blood pressure meds where I had no positive result and only side effects affecting me, I chose to do some investigating. Long story short I began taking 1 tablespoon of Moroccan olive oil every morning when I woke up. I also started drinking hibiscus tea. 2 1/2 weeks my blood pressure dropped 40 points. It has remained that way. I no longer take any blood pressure meds and it took about a year to feel confidentto take myself off them. My primary care doctor is very unhappy with me so I don’t engage with him anymore. But I do listen to your podcast here and I appreciate how you support and encourage me every day. Thank you.

I usually keep my blood pressure under control. I exercise every day.
Drink hibiscus tea twice a day.along side my meds. However recently it has risen. What could be the cause?

As a former nurse, this is by far the most spot on advice I've heard in a long time. I've learned to trust DC's far more than the vast majority of MD's who have a one-track very closed mind when you try to talk to them about lifestyle changes.

I appreciate the information and I watch you constantly. I lost a brother recently that was in the best shape CONSTANTLY throughout his entire life. Everyone that knows him are still in complete shock of his death due to a heart attack because of his high blood pressure! He was 59 and would always bring his own food to family gatherings because he didn’t know how it was prepared as far as seasonings and processed foods. I’m big into juicing fruits and veggies, walking daily, dropped 50lbs, trying my damndest to come off these meds! I appreciate the knowledge!

I think this is maybe the best video you’ve ever made!!! And that’s saying something because all your videos are awesome.
I wish I had some of this advice 20 years ago when I was working 7 days a week in the oil fields and raising a very busy family. I was eating bad, not exercising, and stressed to the max. Of course I had high blood pressure diagnosis and the dr said “here’s a prescription” and sent me on my way, not until about 5 years ago was I even aware lifestyle affected blood pressure. My parents had it so I just assumed it was burden to bear. I’ve been making slow and steady progress towards a healthy and happier life and it’s helping allot!!!
    Thanks so much!!

Thank you, really the deep breathing method works!!! And also after I watched the other video about the mistakes when taking the BP, so I did the breathing method the first few minutes with you on your video, and my BP dropped from 150/90 to 140/80 , so I kept on doing it , with some rest between, and after 15 minutes only it came down to 132/80. Waw. Thank you

You can’t do just one thing. Eventually your pressure will find its way back up. Everything needs to incorporated into a lifestyle. Everything that goes into my mouth has a purpose and it’s to keep me healthy especially my bp because it’s really my only health issues at 67. I’m on no meds I went cold turkey off the bp meds 3 years ago

My pressure rose when I was in my 20s when ENTs were prescribing antihistamine and decongestant. As I got older it settled in at around 210 over 120. I went on meds and it settled in at around 140 over 90. Then I started taking l-arginine with my med. The l-arginine every day and the med twice a week.
The last 2 months I've been taking N1O1. Watch my diet and I'm around 130 over 70. I can actually feel the difference. Cayenne and Hawthorne are going to be added this week.

He put me on lisinipril and another med. Now it's 100% N1O1. I checked it last night and this morning. 127 over 71 both readings. Only time it gets bad is if I'm drinking too much bourbon

About six or seven years ago, it was when Mark Hyman‘s the blood sugar solution book came out. And for reasons of needing to leave a job I was on 60 units of insulin and weighed 180 pounds and wanted to get off of my medicine. So I started testing After I ate and I began eliminating foods in that way. I was shocked when I discovered how high my blood sugar went after eating just plain oatmeal. So now I am 120 pounds and on no meds. When people ask what diet I’m on, I say I’m on my diet Because I tested what created arise in my blood sugar. I think it’s interesting that the levels apps help people do that because some people can eat, for example a banana and not get a huge rise in sugar. Sometimes it depends on the order that you eat your food how quicklyyour blood sugar rises. But I like your approach because I always say you have to do you if you can test that’s helpful

I'm on BP meds BUT doing intermittent fasting two meals per day. Keto/Carnivore! No sugar, no carbs, no highly processed foods, no seed oils. My BP was maintained with meds but has dropped. I'm going off my meds and will closely monitor 2-3 times a day. If I see a slight increase I'll increase my Potassium intake. If higher increase I'll request a lower dosage of meds. I also take Magnesium supplements. After 3 back surgeries my ability to walk/exercise is challenging. But I'm 68 at 195 pounds and lost 50 in the last 5 months.

My uncle was a heart surgeon, he died when he was a 104. He was an alcoholic, more so when he was an active doctor. He had a massive food addiction too. He never followed any diet or exercise. He just used to regularly eat shit loads of meat.
In the end, he died of an overdose of his diabetic medicine, which was accidentally consumed due to natural memory loss. Not that I recommend his lifestyle to anyone but I remember he used to say, work on strengthening your metabolism and you can put anything in your stomach. Then again, I have nothing on this to support this claim.

For obvious reasons blood pressure HAS to rise with your height and mass.
Overall it's the pressure the heart needs to get the blood to all your cells and it's always one heart in the center of your body doing this. When you got are thin and small, the pressure needed for that is way lower than if you are big and massive.

Wow, I didn't know that...Everybody tells me you never get off of blood pressure medication...From the RUclips videos I've seen, once your blood vessels become filled with plaque, you have reached the point of no return...The doctors are very aggressive against stroke and heart attacks...I know an 80 something year old friend who has 9 stents...He is on everything...His blood thinners are so high that his arm looks like someone hit him with a hammer...He sees 4 different heart specialists...I know another dude who had quadruple bypass surgery and takes 325mg of aspirin every day...He never learned his lesson, now he is diabetic...I noticed high blood pressure goes hand in hand with diabetes...My home health aide takes blood pressure meds because she was born with problems with her heart...My other friend Harry is another one who treats his body like garbage...He is also on blood pressure meds and diabetic...He has cellulitis on his lower legs that never heals...I don't smoke and drink, do everything right, but I worry about myself anyway...Have blood vessels that are popping out of my left forehead...Maybe I have plaque filled vessels there and need a stent...So I need to see a heart doctor too...

I do structured exercises 6 days a week, with some component of aerobic in each session. In addition, I rotate between HIIT, isometric, and resistance exercises. I live on an active farm/ranch, so I have to feed animals and do quite a bit of walking every day just in doing farm and ranch work, so even though I do take one day a week off of structured exercise, I'm still moving on the seventh day. My BMI is in the "mildly thin" cateogry and I eat no highly processed food and limit sugar in foods. My diet is primarily Mediterranean. My doctor actually wants me to gain weight, but I feel great being "mildly thin". I'm 68 years old and female. This year, I want to get off of my low dose high blood pressure meds. My pressures at home are great- usually between 115-125 and very consistent at 70 at diastolic. But when I go to the doctor, my systolic sky rockets to around 160 ,but it is not that way at home. At my last visit, my blood tests were all perfect. I bring in my numbers to the doctor and at least she's not hassling me about more meds, but I want to get off all of them. BTW- I like what you said about diets. Some diets work better than others for different people, but most all share eliminating/minimizing highly processed foods. And I do eat lots of carrots. :)
