Really love your videos. Love seeing all the different parts of America you visit. I'm in England. Really like that Dodge van you have. A friend of mine has a 1987 G20 Chevy van. Think its a 5 litre. Because Gas as you call it is so expensive here it runs on LPG but still sounds amazing. Looking forward to the next video! Keep up the great work.
@@BritishNath34 Thanks! I have a ton of videos on here and currently I am posting episodes of my recent Montana to North Carolina roadtrip in a 1963 Chrysler!
Man, you scored on that van. That thing is mint (condition and color!). Now you need a three chrome spoke metal flake green rim steering wheel and a barefoot gas pedal!
Thoroughly enjoying this video Austin. 👍. When you first said you were going Amtrak I thought, how cool, maybe I will do that one day. Then I saw the accommodation and what they did re cancellations. No way would I ever try it. Your wife is great to go along with you on that journey. I hope you did something nice for her? She seems like a great sport! 👍
That twin engine bomber in El Reno, Oklahoma on your return trip. That plane has been there since I was a toddler. I am almost 70 years old now. Also the Ranger motel in El Reno has been there as long as I can remember. My Aunt lived in El Reno from 1946 till she passed away in 2017. My Mom and Dad lived there for awhile and my older brother was born there. If you are going West on I-40 or old Route 66 it always seems to me that the Great Plains begins right at El Reno. The landscape changes and it starts to look like the West.
I had a very similar van in the 70's, same colour, V8, but the maxi version. (longer). Used it for work, never let me down. Easy to work on, the cowl inside unclipped, and there was the engine. 150k on it. Loved that van. Good memories. Enjoyed the trip! Thanks...
Wow Austin, what a trip! Can't believe I watched the whole thing in one sitting. I enjoyed the trip though. I flew down to Wilmington NC this past November and rented a U haul to move my daughter from Carolina Beach to my house in Aurora, CO. Saw a lot of the same scenery on this trip. Lotta rain in Arkansas. We made it to Aurora the night before Thanksgiving and beat the snow. Keep it up man, I love your channel.

There’s a few decent things at MO hick bbq and none of them were on your plate lol. There is no other way to describe it I have never had better coconut cream than that one and they usually run out by 2 or 3.
So, I've watched a few of your videos and today discovered you're in Hickory. My dad was born in Granite Falls and retired to Hildebran, where his parents had lived and retired. My wife is from Conover, and so even though I never resided in Hickory, I've kind of called it home because it's central to so many of my family. I'll have to pay more attention to your driving videos. I should have recognized the area in the first place. Well, maybe not. I haven't driven regularly around Catawba county since the early nineties when I lived in Goldsboro.
A lot has changed over the years. It’s probably a bit unrecognizable from the 1990s! I’m on the Granite side of the river in Caldwell. I’m very familiar with all those places. My Great Grandparents lived in Hildebran.

Just cancelled the train. Unreal! Our gov't at work. Also someone will buy a GMC with Florida plates that is rotted out underneath from salted roads in the upper midwest.
Too bad it cost 3 times as much to take the train as it is to fly. Also Amtrak trains are filthy looking!! Love traveling by train in Europe the trains are beautifully maintained and clean!
In most of the United States gasoline is competitive between brands which keeps the price low. However, California is more of a socialist state and they have decided to try and restrict driving by increasing the gasoline tax more and more each year until people can no longer afford it and will have to find alternative means of transportation. California also charge about 30 cents a kilowatt hour for electricity where it is 10 cents a kilowatt hour here in the midwest.
Any parts house that has carb cleaner should have starting fluid. Try spraying carb cleaner down the carb throat while it's running, it will choke it down, that shows me that it's not near as flammable as the starting fluid with either. Try it.
@@MyronBuss And just like I said there isn’t always a parts house next to where you break down……. If you’re in the middle of nowhere you’re going to use what you have available…. Also if you dump carb cleaner or starting fluid or gasoline or tequila down the carb while an engine is running it’ll “choke it down” because it’s too much fuel. Try it.

Sadly the muffler man at the launching pad has been removed recently.
So who's your passanger?
104 octane plus will clean your fuel system out and boost octane. You need this extra octane in older V8 engines!
Amtrak is a government run train system. You were basically eating military mre's meals.
Fred's Stake house in Elk city. good place to eat.
Beware of a meal wrapped in foil and is served with a bottle of Maker’s Mark.
A shot of Diesel fuel when ya fill up will clean that carburetor just fine. Did that regularly with my '68 Dodge Dart.
If you ask me, your fuel problem is a clogged fuel filter.
I think that staircase was on the untouchables
It was!
Looks like a sticky float in that bbs and bad leakdown on the carb.
Turned out to be a slightly dry rotted/cracked fuel hose. Once I replaced it… never had a problem again.
How well did you do at 70 75 mph on the freeway
