You should have way more subscribers!! Well done! If someone didn't have a Boss Gt-100, what pedals should they get for Johnny's tone/sound (Smiths + his solo stuff - more so his solo stuff). Thanks.
Hi, and thanks. For tone, chasing JM tones is a labour of love. For early Smiths tones the key is a good chorus and a delay. I think he used a Boss CE-2 for chorus. I've got that in the GT100 but now use a Source Audio Gemini. Look through my channel for tone demos for his Call of Comet tones, which I love. I did one for Spiral Cities and also Generate Generate. In these he's using a pitch shifter set to a slight detune to get a variation on that chorus effect. Here's one of them. ruclips.net/video/BklNIQ7PwY0/видео.html
@@hicksy0815 thanks!! For the tone modify effect you have it set to fat. Is there a pedal that would replicate this effect? Is this like a boost? Like an MXR preamp boost or ep3 echoplex preamp? Also any good pedals you know do a a detune pitch shifter?
The bridge pickup Jag obviously has the amazing tone that cuts through any mix, but I do quite like beefing it up a bit so the tone modify is doing that. The Diamond Compressor also does that and really is a great match for his Jag. Apart from that, you can probably achieve the same purpose through amp choice or amp model, or an EQ. The tone modify is quite a lazy way to get there with a single push of a button. For the pitch shifter, the GT100 is obviously leaning on the Boss PS pedals but detune is a pretty basic function so I'd imagine you'd be able to get this with any half decent pitch shifter. The key is to be pretty subtle with the detune, you want just enough that you can hear it, but without it starting to sound unnatural.
@@hicksy0815 Thanks for the info :-) Got a Diamond Compressor on the way. Been reading about doubling pedals and detuners...to me they seem to achieve the same effect? Seems like detuning just a tad acts like a doubling effect and makes it sound like more than one guitar is playing. Is this your understanding?
OMG badass perfection! Thank you!
Fantastic!
Bravooo!!!

Yep, the effect you're getting is a doubling from the mild detune
👏👏👏👏
Nice job! You’ve got a new sub, keep it up 😎🤟🤟
