Thank God for these young girls making aware of the horrible aftermath of the NC mountains after Helene. Thank you to all of these young ladies. God bless you all!!
As someone who lives in the Greenville area, while we were not hit nearly as bad as NC, GA & Fl parts of upper SC are still without power, we were given 0 warning. No alerts on our phone, minimal weather alerts, nothing to let us know to prepare for this type of damage and the loss of power. The mountains are not prepared for this type of weather.
Your first mistake was not being weather-aware. If you live in the South and the weather forecast says the word HURRICANE, you need to pay attention! Geeesh, it's your life and your responsibility to look after it. I went through the wrath of Hurricane Hugo in 1989. Hugo was my hurricane learning experience. Hurricane Helene is your learning experience. I could go on but please stop whining about how no one notified you. 🤗
@@rmr2471 not whining, just stating a fact. But thank you for your kindness and compassion. Your attitude is exactly what everyone needs right now. Why don’t you actually do something kind and donate to the hurricane relief, there are a bunch going on - I donated to Trumps Go FundMe page. We got in Thursday morning and all the Airbnb owner told us was that they were preparing for rain when we got down the mountain the firefighters told us we got hit by a supercell tornado that formed out of no where and they were not expecting that
A lot of people don't know how to look at the various weather channels, it's old people like me who are watching the hurricane reports. I live on the East Coast and I'm vigilant. If I had known them I would have told them to cancel that trip. I didn't know it would be as bad as it was, but it was obviously going to be a bad time to take a trip there.
We reached out to them ahead of time and they said that area was expecting rain. The mountain we were on experienced a supercell tornado that NOBODY up there was aware of or prepared for. We accepted interviews to spread awareness and have already raised over a thousand dollars ourselves in just a few hours to send to the kind people we met and get them help. Don’t be so quick to judge.
Yes! This reporter needs more training. News agencies have the opportunity and in my opinion responsibility & privilege to model respect and social behavior to broad audiences. These women are obviously adults, over 18 years old. If young adult males went through this experience would they have been described as BOYS?
No, they're her equal. They're girls to her. They're all the same age. I'm going out with the girls. Girls trip! Me and the girls are meeting up. Stop being weird and recognize the cultural norm of people who are the same generation. If she was 40, ok. But so those ladies are within 5 years of each other in age. Girls is normal and appropriate.

They're in the mountains not the coast. Who looks out at the mountains and is like yup. This is where hurricanes come. Cmon now, these people are just as smart as you. Don't act like they aren't because of a natural disaster that was 10ft higher than predicted. Think about how dams work and the expected flow. Now. Add 10 feet of water to that.
@@kronosaurelius At this point if a tropical storm/hurricane pops up in the Ocean or the Gulf, that needs to be enough warning for the entire East coast until it has dispersed. Glad they’re okay & appreciate that they are trying to help those in that area as well.
@@gdan9923what does time have to do with a moving storm that can span several states and can increase and decrease speed at will? @@gdan9923 I never said Asheville was on the coast. The state of NC is on the east coast. You think this is funny?? This kind of storm and flooding has never happened in the recorded history of this area. Entire towns and interstates all all access to mountain towns are wiped off the map in multiple states.
