    Nick and Bailey, this was a great session. One of the things that I am curious about is if you take multiple types of 1/8 material to make insets like the earrings you showed. When the laser cuts, will you be able to nest the parts together. Like take a cut piece from one material and fit it into another piece so that it matches exactly? Also, can you demonstrate puzzle making so we know about the tightness of the pieces and how they fit together? I do love these demonstrations. My goal is to have a pro before the end of the year.

      Hi Richard! That's a wonderful idea, I'll pass along the puzzle idea to Nick and Bailey to add to their livestream ideas list.
      That's exactly right! Your Glowforge cuts at the width of a human hair so you can make extremely precise pieces that fit together. For example, I often see Glowforge owners cutting inlay on their printer and fitting those together.

    Love the Glowforge concept! Any chance you are working on a program to be independent of the cloud for processing?

    I have not seen or heard of anyone cutting or etching balsa wood, like for model airplanes kits. How well is the machine able to cut and engrave balsa wood without causing it to catch on fire? In some instances, is the use of an inert gas advisable to prevent the material from burning?
    Thank you for posting these video demonstrations!
    Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️

      Hi Mike! I see Glowforge owners print on balsa wood all the time for model airplane kits. You can adjust the speed and power of your laser to fine tune the best settings for your material. For example, I see Glowforge owners cut cardstock on their printers with very low power settings.
      You might be interested in this kit that a Glowforge owner printed and shared with us: community.glowforge.com/t/balsa-model-airplane-parts/66261/2.
      You won't need anything additional to print balsa wood on your Glowforge besides the wood and your Glowforge to get a perfect print. -Ellen

    I have NOT seen FABRIC used on any of your videos. Please show some! I own a quilt shop & MUST use up that fabric!

    Can you register prints that are over 20 inches wide

    • @Glowforge
      @Glowforge  3 года назад

      Hi Steve, the maximum width one way is 20", however the Passthrough slot on the Glowforge Pro will allow you to print at infinity length the other way. So you'll be able to print projects 20" in width, but however long as you want. -Ellen

      @@Glowforge Thanks for the clarification! So does that apply if you are doing a pass through option on a longer piece w/pro

    • @Glowforge
      @Glowforge  3 года назад

      @@jamesbsa6450 Hi James, that 2" thickness applies to materials inside the bed on your Glowforge. With the Passthrough slot you can pass materials through up to 1/4" thick. -Ellen
