Amazing , Sam butera version of this song will be my 1# top song till my grave. I’m 22 and I already made up my mind that I will cherish this song forever
Sam Butera and the witnesses was the best nightclub act I've ever seen. I worked a summer at Sahara-Tahoe and Sam and the boys performed across the road at Harrah's. Never missed a show.
I worked at Harrah's in reno and Sam Butera and The Witnesses played the lounge often. I saw his show many times. It was always high energy and fun, all for the price of one or two drinks.
I think you had to be Italian to appreciate these guys! Sam was a nice guy, too. I saw him once outside Harrah's and waved to him. "Hi, Sam!" --and he waved back big smile--probably the highlight of my three months at Tahoe. Rest in peace, Sam!
I Am 61 How I Regret That I Never Saw Louie Prima And Sam Butera. You Don't See Talent Like This Today!! To Those Of You That Saw Louie And Sam, YOU WERE BLESSED!! Grace and Peace, Ralph In CT
Louis Prima could sell a song like no-one else and Sam was right behind him. When Sam stepped out .........lookout ! One of the greatest live performances I've ever seen.
Indeed it is. Sam being right behind Louis is metaphoric referring to ability ...not where he's standing in this performance . There's few examples of Sam taking a lead vocal in Louis Prima's band ....this is the finest example I've seen of his ability to do so.
(Only 162,000+ views at this point?! ) I love how Louis Prima can't seem to contain his joy at this flawless performance. . It's like he's watching history in the making...or money.
I grew up in Las Vegas and my father was friends with them. He played golf with Louis. I knew Sam and Mott the best from my early years as a teenager to my grown-up years (23-28). I'd run into Sam on the strip when they played the Sahara lounge and he always had a joke for me one of which I remember today about a priest and a nun golfing.
Sam Butera was a VERY strong lounge performer long after Louis Prima passed on. He would have made a good stand-up. Multi talented, some said he was hard to work with being a perfectionist. I am told that his "improvisations" were well rehearsed. Always packed the lounge in A.C. So sad that Alzheimers took him from us.
Listened to this version for the first time today, thought I’d give Sam a go after hearing Louis’ many hits, blown away is an understatement. What a performance!
Well now, this was jaw dropping! One of the rare, few times that Louis kept his lid on and just let Sam give it his all. He knew he was in the realm of a genius... ⚡🔥⚡
Sam had a great voice. He could belt it out with the best of them besides being a great sax player. That smile and that personality! He was born to do this. Love these guys. One in a million act! Rest in peace Sam, Louis and Keely! Three amazing people. Still exciting to watch! I feel bad for whoever doesn't know about these videos. Americana at its best!

@@ralphraucci5128 Thanks, Ralph. Never saw them live. Thank God for these videos. I dig the underlying Italian American influence on their style. I'm on Long Island. Cheers
Louis prima is like “ yeah boy! That’s my brother! Sing your ass off boy!!!” He was so happy Sam seems to get out of his regular element and made and found a whole new level

I just found this video and love it. My dad had listen to Lou Prima so I enjoyed him also. I know Lou Prima was great but I was unaware how fantastic Sam Buteria was. I saw some other videos when Sam was doing Mohegan Sun and he just didn’t seem to be the same. Yes much older but didn’t have that swing. But back when he was with Lou he really was at the top of his game. Great entertainer. They sure don’t make them like that anymore. God bless him.

Check out his version of Fever. Different take from Peggy Lee’s version
This means so much to the world. I'm so happy to know someone your age has this kind of music on their register
Check out “There’ll Be No Next Time” with Louis Prima.
Same here. 25 and really wish I could've seen these guys live. Some of my all-time favorites.

William Fossat you are a lucky man!
What was it like? I’m so curious about the vibe and how the audience received them.
I saw them many times in Vegas, no act ever came close to the excitement and talent they had.

One of the best video on utube
he was one of a kind and the REAL king of the Vegas Strip.
Louie had some amazingly talented band members. Sam was phenomenal!
Sam Butera makes this look so easy, he really loves entertaining, simply great.
Butera actually had a good voice...like this number he does!!
Nada es más auténtico que esto!!
The tone of the voice is similar to Ben E. King "Stand by me". I love it, so dry and punchy.
Sam had a great voice. He could belt it out with the best of them besides being a great sax player. That smile and that personality! He was born to do this. Love these guys. One in a million act! man that cat can belt it out. Loved this... Just as good if not better than Dean himself. Had a big smile the entire time i watched this.
Nobody sung it like Dino Martino! 'Nuff said.
Diffrent tempo, and it is sung by Sam differently. But definitely a gem.
Hello True!
