I own the rights to this song and performance. And I'll be God damned if some suit ever tries to tell anyone not play this live. Ju sugnu sicilianu Americano! Massive love and respect to all singers and players!
Sam was an American great! What a voice! What feeling! What a performance. What a smile! You could see how much he enjoyed doing this. I could watch Louis Prima all night. His dance moves are funny. Those guys loved what they were doing. Their passion was contagious. One of the best performances I've ever seen! This blows today's over produced rubbish away! This comes from the gut. Love it. RIP Sam. RIP Louie! Just beautiful!
I love this rare video a true treasured item what a fantastic voice and talented man, outstanding player with the best musicians. Putting everything into their music thank you
Louie and Sam were the best !! I was waiting for a ripping Sax solo that didn't come but Sam's Vocal was over the top .. RIP Louie and Sam .. Thanks for all the great music and Live performances that can never be equaled !!
I was lucky enough to be his soundman during the 70's & 80's when he played the rendezvous lounge at Resorts International Hotel/Casino in Atlantic City. That feeling, like happy as anyone could ever be , every night!
This is my fave Sam Butera song, my next fave is “NEXT TIME”. Thank you for the colour HD upload! I’ve seen the black and white one a thousand times! I hate the Spotify version cause they cut half the song!
Rolly D, and Jimmy Vincent were the best for sure. When the Rat Pack wanted to listen to great music, they went to watch Louis and Sam in Vegas. God, I miss them and those old days.
Alan this is so good my next grandson will be Alan Smithee Matthews. TY for the post. Been listening to this on Spotify and whatever you're doing it sounds a lot better then what I'm getting.
My only issue is that the audio turns bad at 1:40 until 2:19 UPDATE: I’M WRONG. NOT ALAN’S FAULT, ORIGINAL ALBUM CUT SONG. SEE COMMENT THREAD. Sam might've just been so powerful he broke the recording! I especially like the intro where we get the album cover and edited song title!
That's exactly it. The album version (in mono or stereo) is missing the middle section, meaning the B&W version is the only audio source... so I had to get creative. Thanks anyway!
@@alansmithee7730 Wow I changed my mind, that makes your work even more impressive!! The album itself is difficult to find. I just listened to this track on a non-geoblocked YT version and realized that portion was cut and instantly thought “oh no…I was so wrong” lol. Do you have any ideas why they cut that part from the album??
@@aeternitasnox5151 No clue at all, I'm afraid. Maybe somebody thought that the side of the vinyl record was too long already? Sadly, the digital download doesn't rectify the error-it must've used the same tape as the mono and stereo vinyl-which is why I had to resort to the digitally extracted stereo for that one excerpt. I wonder if Louis Prima Jr. has the original three-track master tapes or knows where they are...?
@@alansmithee7730 Wow, very interesting. They did a sloppy job with the edit. I would’ve thought there was something wrong with my audio file. Very jagged transition. Almost sounds like a censor edit. In 1963 was this part deemed too loud and aggressive for a jazzy album? Idk i’m reaching lol…Dean Martin and Sinatra make the Google investigation even harder lol. Quite the longshot but hopefully Mr. Lous Prima Jr. eventually delivers!
@@alansmithee7730 my pleasure! I just picked up 2 Sam Butera Autographed CD’s. I also have 2 Louis and Keely’s. I’m looking forward to putting together a couple of big matted displays. Figured I’d share that with a fellow fan 😊
@@alansmithee7730 you're kidding!! I have to check it out because Casablanca has been a favorite of mine since I was 8 years old when I watched it with my father. I'll check it out right now, thank you for letting me know! Cheers mate
Благодаря чудесам Интернета, вы, россиянин, и я, австралиец, можем наслаждаться этим произведением 1960-х годов в любое время! The wonders of the Internet mean that you, a Russian, and I, an Australian, can enjoy this 1960s work at any time!
I own the rights to this song. God bless Sam Butera, Louis Prima, Keeley Smith and all you beautiful cats and kittens out there! Sicilianu sugnu da Randazzo via California. Salutamu tutti!
Sam should have done a sax solo in the middle of that song. Seems strange why he would not. He sang great but I miss the sax solo, which also would have been great. Why is it only 1 song here or 1 song there? Is there any full concert on film or video anywhere of these guys? From the 1950's and 1960's?
This was from a 1965 West German film called Buona Sera in Las Vegas, from which a few songs have surfaced. They also did a live film in 1957 called Universal Special: The Wildest (in colour!) but it's very rare; I have yet to find a copy. There is plenty of live stuff on RUclips though! The Ed Sullivan footage from 1959 and 1960 is a great place to start, and so is An Evening With Louis Prima (with over 20 minutes of colour entertainment). Louis did a couple of films in the 50s and 60s called Hey Boy Hey Girl and Twist All Night; they have barely any plot but the music is great!
Russ Morgan, the trombonist and band leader who co-wrote this great song, always gave it special treatment but this is the best version by far, bar none. Dean Martin sold a lot of records but he pales in comparison to Sammy here with Louis and the crew.
I own the rights to this song and performance. And I'll be God damned if some suit ever tries to tell anyone not play this live. Ju sugnu sicilianu Americano!

Wow! You're a lucky man, Aaron!
just those few crisp notes from the guitarist (at around 1:08 in) let us know he had some serious skills.
Sam was a great singer
Wow, could Sam wail! This was such a fantastic version -- the video was so incredible! Beautiful job!
Thanks for watching, Karl!
Damn! The way Sam is right on cue with that last line!
This is my fave Sam Butera song, my next fave is “NEXT TIME”. Thank you for the colour HD upload! I’ve seen the black and white one a thousand times! I hate the Spotify version cause they cut half the song!
Hence why I spliced the middle back in ;)
Sam Butera was 🔥 when he performed!
He sure was!
Maravilloso, el s XX tuvo artistas extraordinarios ....bravo 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Absolutely at the top of his game right there!
He certainly was Jeff!
a real class act
I really like his voice! Why does this performance remind me of something out of "Goodfellas?"
It's the same generation and the same origin.
That was awesome!
Thanks, Joe!

Hats off to Sam!!! Bravo!
This is gonna sound crazy but at the end I felt like I was there. It was like I was floating on air man.
Wow 😳
the jokes, the dances, the lively voice really brings it life in comparison to tamer shows of bigger figures
Play it again Sam 🎷
Ironically, I also have his version of As Time Goes By uploaded on my channel ;)

So, you receive 37 Cents every time it’s performed??

Most impressive. They made practice and hard work look like fun. Love L.P.s ever - thickening hairline.

STRONG!

Where can i get this entire show? Omg...the best clip ever!

Your nobody till somebody moves in with you! I'm gonna sing it........ Cause your nobody till a broad traps ya wad!!!! Lol!!!
¿Por qué nadie habla de Louis Prima? No lo sé.
The guy in the background looks like Dean Martin
Mi fusil y yo
This is great but it's so much better in b&w. IMHO.
Fair enough. I understand that colourisation is not for everyone, and looking back I see that this one is pretty flickery. Thanks for your honesty!
I only recently found out about these guys, from the jungle book actually #jungleVIP
