Can someone explain to me why US ATACMS missiles with a range of about 300 km are referred to as long-range missiles and Russian Iskander missiles with a range of 500-600 km are referred to as short-range missiles in the same media? I don't understand why missiles with twice the range of ATACMS are referred to as short range missiles and ATACMS as long range missiles.

Not long-range, but "longer-range" versions of the short-range ballistic missile. Both ATACMS and Iskander are short range ballistic missiles, but the 300 km version of ATACMS is longer range than the 150 km ones provided previously.

According to the Ukrainian MoD, Russi alost about 7300-ish tanks. Russia had 12.600 tanks before the war. Last time I checked, 7300 is a smaller number than 12600.

@@fruz1378 Russia lost its entire professional army and half of all their equipment in just 2 years, its stockpiles that took decades to build up are rapidly depleting and are very likely to be depleted even this year already, at which point Russia will no longer have the force to push through, and won't even be able to take all of Donbas.

I'm no military strategist, but I think Ukraine should rotate their soldiers. Lukashenko says there's 120,000 AFU soldiers along the Belarus-Ukraine border, doing practically nothing, while the soldiers on the front are exhausted and demoralized from Russian advances. If those border soldiers went to the front, they might be able to slow or repel the Russian assault while the other soldiers got rest guarding the border. But, that's just me.
They were rotating the troops in Ocheretyne, which is why Russia managed to break through there. The troops that were rotating out had to go back to fight and hold the Russian advance.

As long as NATO doesn't put boots on the ground, those goals will not change and the definition for victory remains the same.

I support Ukraine just like you but you need to understand that Ukraine is losing this war Russians are advancing by the day with Ukrainian troops not being able to do anything about it. They can only slow them down but with more fresh Russian troops and equipment arriving by the thousands the day slowing them down is becoming impossible
@@xeno5725 then you need to do some research, and find out that Russia is not as strong as their propaganda tells you. Russia had only 3500 tanks and 8900 armoured vehicles left no later than October 2023. That's nearly 7 months ago. Since then, Russia lost 2500+ tanks and 5000+ armoured vehicles. This means that, at the current rate of Russian losses, they might run out of both stockpiled tanks and armoured vehicles before the end of the year, and when those are gone, Russia's ability to put equipment on the frontlines will be massively reduced. We already see Russia using more and more alternatives, because they're running low.
Also don't forget Ukraine had been without major support for about 7 months. They've destroyed 190.000+ troops and 10.000+ pieces of equipment (tanks, armoured vehicles, artillery) while low on ammo and resources. And now they're getting more ammo and resources again.
As per Russian advances, understand that Ukraine advanced 821 km² in 5 months. Russia has advanced only 360 km² in 7 months, despite losing many times more men and equipment.
Ukraine is winning the war.

When Russians first came to Qirim in 1783, Qiriml made up over 95% of the population. Systemic violence, pillage, and aggressive settler colonialism by Russians in 150 years decreased that ratio to 25% in 1926.

Noman Celebicihan was the 1st president of the Crimean People's Republic. A 32-year-old mufti, poet and writer, he envisioned a future of pluralist, democratic and inclusive
'Crimean Switzerland' for his homeland. Russians executed him in 1918 and threw the body into the Black Sea to prevent his people from giving the President a dignified burial.

After sheltering from genocide with Qirimli friends, my family returned home. Little they knew that they won't see their saviours again.

executed up to 100 of Qirimli writers, thinkers, artists, and community leaders on the 17th of April, 1938 alone. That is another reason why the rest of the world can often quote Russian writers like Tolstoy but not no-less-talented Qirimli writers like Cafer Gafar, Omet Ozenbasli, Sabri divazov, or poets like Bekir Çoban-zade or Abdulla Latif-zade. Russian 'final solution' came in

Moscow deported the entire nation to Central Asia. every 2nd died in this genocide, known now as 'Sürgünlik' ("exile.") Moscow offered the cleared lands to Russian settler-colonists. By 1979, Qirimli made up just 0.1% of local population.

conditions, there was not a single trace reminding that this land used to belong to Qirimli. all names of streets, villages, and towns were Russified. Russians occupied Crimean Tatar homes.

Because Russia never got punished for any of this, when it stole Qirim once again in 2014, it restarted ethnic cleansing, forcing hundreds of thousands to leave and replacing them with Russian settler-colonists. Simply existing as proud Qirimli became de-facto a criminal offense.
Thousands disappeared in colonial raids, and tens of thousands became political prisoners in the Russian Gulag. Today, once again, Russian colonialism makes the existence of Qirimli and Ukrainians punishable by death.
It wasn't Putin who crushed the Crimean People's Republic in 1917, punished Qirimli with man-made famines and deportations.
It wasn't Putin who took over their homes throughout centuries, cleansing Qirim of any indigenous memory.
It is never just Putin.
It is always the Russians.
For centuries Qirimli & Ukrainians resisted the Russian empire together
