I have spent three Christmas stays when it was an all inclusive package. But, sadly this stopped a few years ago. I miss not spending my Christmas at Edale YHA. All good things must come to an end 😮
Wow, that would be a great place to stay over Christmas. Snowy Christmas morning walks and some good food. So they don't do that any more? Maybe it was too difficult to get staffing to cover the shifts over Christmas. Cheers, Warren :)
Oh yes, the team certainly look after the place. The rooms were very clean, so too were the other shared areas. Well worth staying if you are in the area. Cheers, Warren :)
They all vary and have their own individual characteristics and charm. Not luxury but then some of the Lounge rooms are so well furnished they are just as good as a top notch hotel! ;) Cheers, Warren
These YHAs are social and friendly places to stay. There is an air of 'sharing' - rather different to just staying in a hotel somewhere and not talking to anyone. And even better if the buildings are, as you say, repurposed and include some character. Cheers, Warren :)
Stayed there aged 17 whilst on yts scheme (WH Smith DO IT All ) had a great time. The youth leader said he needed to collect some supplies from the local shop but and needed some help so four of us put are hands up.... instead of going to the shop he took us to the local pub 😂
Looks great....not stayed in a Youth hostel for ohh must be 40 years...from what i can remember the 2 in stayed in were Copt oak in Leicestershire and Marham in Norfolk...so long ago not sure if they are right..
Each hostel has it's own different character. Not been to the ones you mention but maybe on my tours in the future I will have a chance to visit them too. Cheers, Warren. :)
Never stayed in a hostel, tbh I am too selfish to want to share a room with strangers 😂 what sort of price does this cost when compared to local b&b? You may mention this in the video (I'm half way through!)
Costs vary a bit, and less for a shared room but about £35 PP for a shared room and maybe about £60 for a room for 2. Without doubt sometimes I have been in a shared room and someone is snoring or bangs about coming in late but fortunately I sleep quite well. Cheap, and usually in the right place for walking too :) And sociable with the shared lounge and dining room. They are all unique too, character. I have used Travellodges and PremierIns but once you are in your room you could be anywhere! Thanks for tagging along mate, cheers, Warren :)
Hi Warrenz a great and detailed Hostel Tour, what a beautiful and well renovated Hostel, with a beautiful and picturesque outlook. Cheers Peter 🙂
This YHA is in an ideal location for getting out on treks. Thank you for your comment here. Cheers, Warren :)
@Linleys Hi Warren, I agree and no worries. Cheers Peter 😀

Looks like it has everything one needs, and seems nice and clean too! I'd say that I would definitely stay there. Bruce and Otis

Great vlog! I’m still not sure I’d go back to my hostel days but this looks very reasonable.

Repurposed buildings can be really good. Nice digs and facilities Warren. Thanks for uploading. Bushyboy Oz.

Excellent look around the hostel. As a former hostel user, I do enjoy these videos.
Thanks for taking the time to do these.

I had time to explore the site. It is a nice place to stay and so convenient for the Peak District trekker! Cheers, Warren :)
I so like your videos Warren
Hey, thank you for your encouragement. Much appreciated :) Cheers, Warren

What a great memory. Which pub did you go to? Did you get out in to the mountains while you were there? Cheers, Warren :)
I went to Edale in Secondary School when I was in year 9.
