- DAY 2 OF 2: I went to New York for a work event, but had the opportunity to extend my travel and spend time with family. While I was with my sister and her husband, we did a lot of fishing! In this video, I got to my destination of Lake George, NY and was able to fish from the bank at this big beautiful lake. I had pretty low expectations but was actually happy to have a lot of success. Smallmouth, Rock Bass, and Pumpkinseed - can't beat it!
As I have talked about in the past, the Daiwa Presso Travel Ultralight is such a cool rod. Glad I brought it with me! Learn more about that rod in this video: • Fishing With The DAIWA...

Nothing like a good Rocko bite!
Lake George is the cleanest lake in the COUNTRY!
That rock bass at 4:30 was a stud
I learned the value of UL/pack-rods on motorcycle trips. They fit in saddlebags well, and can be ready to fish in minutes. I keep a UL packrod in my car for spur of the moment tries at unfamiliar water. Ultralight gear makes the little guys and panfish fun!
Very Nice. I have lived in upstate my whole life, going up to the lake today for some fishing. Real cool how you are fishing right in the village like that. Congrats on the NY PERCH!
Man... these last 2 videos really made me homesick for New England. I remember visiting Ft. Ticonderoga (Lake Champlain) and Lake George when I was somewhere between 6 - 10 years old. That was 1958 - 1963ish. It so interesting how pictures can bring memories back to us of things that we haven't thought about for over 60 years. Thank you so much for sharing this adventure!
Awesome outing brother!!💯💯🎣🎣🎣
Lake George is beautiful. I grew up in Connecticut and we used to vacation there just about every summer.
One of the better places in liberal ny. I can't wait to get out of this state
Ayyy Lake George is awesome, just went to a wedding there last year I hail from over the border in western MA
Great video and great fishing..!! Have a good day and week. Thank you for sharing.. beautiful day!!
Great vid man just started a channel and absolutely love it
Great video. A very beautiful area of New York State. Thanks for the video.
only ever been to lake george area once, but I mostly spent my time nearby at trout lake. Best fishing I have ever had in my life and caught my pb rainbow trout there. Only like a 20 minute drive from lake george
Adirondacks are great for all kinds of fishing, been going there for decades, thanks for sharing your adventure. Tight Lines.
Lake George looks gorgeous and seemed like the fish kept you busy. And smallies on ultralight...dude that's amazing. Have the same rock and boulder issues when I go up to northern WI but man do they hold fish. Blessings brother
Great land based fishing session, cheers from Australia 👍🏼
I have to admit that because of your videos over the years, you have piqued my interest in the Diawa travel presso. I was and still am considering the TFO trout/panfish 3 piece rod but your given me something to think about. And I’ve already been thinking about the Shimano Nasci whichever route I go…
What an awesome place to fish, so very different from Ca.. Kinda looked like those smallies may have been spawning...
Hey Ethan, I love your videos. Just got an ultralight rod after binging your videos and a panfish magnet box. I'm up in new england as well. Haven't had too much success in getting bites, but having fun.
I’m getting some mule fishing horse flys can I use any jig head I have? (I love your videos you inspired me to start ultralight fishing
I hope you are there you should check out Schroon River
To anyone else here who is right handed and learnt to manage your rod with the right hand and reel with the left, don't you find it super weird when you see people changing hand after casting?
Everytime I see Ethan switching hand, despite the fact he catches more fish in a day than I catch in a year, I am all "NooooOOOOOOO!!!! YOU'RE DOING IT WROOOONG!!!!"
Also it seems to me a lot of people in the US are doing it, aren't they?
Rock-o's ftw!
West Ausable River for wild browns around Lake Placid is GORGEOUS if you’re up that way (i know you’re probably editing after the trip but still)
Nice rock! But more importantly, what was that sandwich?
Good to see you using the Presso again. They are difficult to find. What is the lightest mule jig you have been able to cast?
Great video have you used the piscifun braided line
About 30 min from me. I spend a lot of time on Lake George! Awesome place to fish! I was actually just fishing there the other day.
I bought the dobyns from your suggestion. Should I buy this for something more compact for the car?
When will the mule bass bundle come back?
What length of the presso are you using? I’m looking into getting one, tight lines!
What is the round sticker at the bottom of the rod butt? I have an older rod that has one but the writing is worn off.
If you ever have to travel for work and you’re in Denver, you don’t even have to bring her around or kayak. I’ll let you borrow everything of mine.
Nice sharing full watch video mashallah yummy 🙏💯💯💯
Hey! How long is that rod that you are using?
Ethan, if you ever find yourself in the Windy City, please seriously shoot me a text or give me a call. I can put you on smallie TANKS under the Chicago skyline.
Yeah buddy. For the urban jungle there are plenty of places to fish in IL. I've been sharing about this year's epic smallies, rock bass and other fish with the Cicadapocolis we've had. Tight lines
Go barbless
Rock bass are in invasive fish and actually damage the smallmouth population so don’t feel bad for dropping them into the water.
ultralight fluke?
I'm going to say something unpopular. But I feel I need to say it. Ethan. I am very disappointed in you. You destroyed that rock basses jaw. Never, ever hit a hook to get it out. You are basically punching the fish in the mouth. Their jaws break easily. If a hook gets stuck, use a pair of needle nose pliers. Better yet, use those pliers and smash down that barb. You will not lose fish if you know how to fight a fish properly. And you don't harm them in the process. I know this idea is unpopular. But it should be the norm. But what is more important? Using a barb that might help you land 1 or 2 more fish in a year? Or the well-being of the fish? No one respects fish anymore. They are a living creature and should be treated with respect. I normally unsubscribe to people I see mistreating fish. But I have high hopes for you to do the right thing in the future. Remember a lot of people are watching you and learning from you. Consider doing it the right way to teach them the right way.
Yeah worries about belly flopping it after smashing it mouth, that being said it’ll probably still be fine, I’ve caught a lot of bass with broken jaws
I'm with you on this williamfriggle!
Yeah thought you meant first one but yeah didnt care for that
Thanks for the feedback, William! I am here to set a good example of what good catch and release practice is and unfortunately I wasn’t thinking by doing that in the moment. I will certainly keep this in mind as I fish in the future. Truly appreciate your support! Never hesitate to send feedback, it’s how we get better! I appreciate you doing so in a respectful manner.
@@FishAnything keep doing you man. I know you’re just being respectful, but we all know that social media gives people the feeling of needing to lecture people at the slightest inconvenience. You’ve been fishing since you were little. You know what you’re doing, you know barbs are fine for the kind of fishing you do.
Just keep doing what ur doing.
What is wrong wit your mic it sounds like you are far away
