@@MisticDW you can play Ninja Gaiden black and Ninja Gaiden 2 in 4K on the Xbox One X and Series X. So the Games arent lost. and when emulation of the OG Xbox and 360 improve we can enjoy them there too.
A lot of the personality of NG2 came from its over-the-top violence. The fact that they heavily censored it in the sigma version is just really confusing
They explained it, did you pay attention? The ps3 couldn't handle all the gore/limp effects. Team Ninja wanted to port the game over to make more money.
@@ferntin4479 if you want to have a mature conversation, don’t be passive aggressive over the internet. I heard what he said. Doesn’t make it okay. It’s a lazy port through and through. Sure, they lost the code to the original games, but they could have put in the extra work to deliver the same experience. If you enjoy the master collection, I’m happy for you. I will never bring anyone down for liking something. In my eyes, NG2 was unique Bc of the over the top violence. The developers decision to just make a quick buck through a lazy port of worse versions of two awesome games is where I have a problem.
@@loochieCS It’s so disappointing that they could have added some improvements to the sigma versions after years of feedback but no. Another thing is do what Bluepoint did with their remasters, reverse engineer a physical copy of the game. But, I don’t know how hard or expensive that would be with new tech. Tecmo has been incredibly greedy af especially with Team Ninjas games and it’s sad.
Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden II are both backwards compatible and run at 60 fps with a resolution bump on Xbox One and Series X. If you're an Xbox owner, the Master Collection is nice but not essential unless you really need 4K.
Nah I disagree. I have tried to listen to the complaints. They are pretty subjective and reek of "what I played first is best". This reviewer complains about the Rachel missions, but it's like when people complain that certain weapons are worse than the dragon sword simply because they are too used to the sword. Once I learned how Rachel works (rolling over enemies, grappling and chaining the AoE UT), she's just a blast to play, almost like a ballet dancer. Also this reviewer is yet another who claim Sigma reduced the enemy difficulty. I tried to track down this assertion, but it turned out to be BS. Most enemies still behaved the same, and in fact the lack of Lunar on chapter 1 made the mission more difficult on SIgma.
KT claimed that they can’t port Black and the original 2 to gen 9 consoles because they lost the source code. That is a lie. Itagaki sued KT a few years ago for unpaid royalties and he won. If KT had ported Itagaki’s games (Black and 2; he had nothing to do with the Sigma games), they would have owed him royalty payments which they do not want to pay him.
You dont get a new one without this collection selling well. Theres just so many young ppl who dont know how business works. Supply and demand. Many bought the game to support the devs. So the suits agree to a NG4. We dont care about the versions in the game. However people will complain and then expect them to make a new game when not enough ppl are interested
@@starkstouch This "Business": We're losing relevancy, left our Ninja Gaiden games to rot, and Devil May Cry 5 has left us in the dust... Let's make a neutered collection made with inferior versions of old games, to gauge the interest in a new Ninja Gaiden game...
@@thedarkdojo5115 no problem, I m only speaking to those who want a continuation, I personally feel that koei tecmo is done with the series. This release was just pushing it. That's the director of niohs response. Titled A Q: With the release of this collection, is there a possibility of a sequel? A: I want to be optimistic about that possibility while looking at the response and results of this collection. If it becomes a hit, then the possibility of a sequel will be even more likely. To be honest, we haven’t even come up with a plan for a sequel, but our team talks often about what we would do if we were to create one. While developing 3RE, we were reminded of what this series needs, and we want to approach it with the full understanding of what a Ninja Gaiden game should be. It will also be necessary to let the game evolve so that it keeps up with the times and changes in action games. Pure action games have become hits in recent years, and there are more and more fans of action games, so I really want to bring Ninja Gaiden 4 to them. Ryu Hayabusa is really important to Team Ninja, and I think this collection will remind the world of his status as the world’s top ninja.
@@michaelmullins8866 it’s noon friendly if you play on hero mode. It’s the same challenge as it was before on hardest difficulty’s. The games are different adding new challenges if you never played sigma
@@robotzzthesecond I have played Sigma , it’s not just the difficulty that’s changed the enemy numbers and dismemberment are drastically reduced especially in the famous stairs battle , it’s ten times better on the original even with the slowdown. Now that slowdown is not a problem on new hardware there’s absolutely no reason to pay again for the sigma versions which are inferior IMO .
@@getawaydreamer2724 Well to be fair, Ninja Gaiden Black had a fuller feel due to some of the fights being longer, better progression, no watered down platforming sections, some cool visuals like after image and UT effects that were ironically removed in Sigma. So Black is perfect with or without dlc that were available for Sigma. But the Sigma in master collection also has the additions from Sigma plus including Fire wheel level up buffs which looks insane, some awesome new equipment that weren't included it other previous versions. So for newcomers and those who aren't bored of playing the game for the 100th time, the master collection is perfect.
Every reviewer is complaining about the same things and honestly, I feel like this is a great collection. The heart of the games are here, the nostalgia is through the roof. 3 amazing games for $39 is a great price and one of the best purchases I've done this year as far as gaming goes.
Ppl also forget about the ones that don’t have the originals and/or the consoles for them. I don’t have a 360 or ps3 atm so I can appreciate this collection even if they didn’t tweak or improve anything whatsoever.
Yeah I bought this without a second thought as I don't have the consoles anymore. I have missed playing NG got the longest time and I really didn't mind anything at all. The nostalgia and getting to play NG again makes it worth it.

There is a level of respect in this game over many others into the incredible choreography and fighting maneuvers in a game never done so fluid and beautiful
Simplifying Ninja Gaiden with the Sigma series is not for me cause I love the challenge and to be the perfect ninja in order to survive is my way. Also even as mediocre as Ninja Gaiden 3: Razors Edge was but I still love the online coop feature “Shadows of The World” where you can team up with a friend and play as Ryu, Momiji, Kasumi and Ayane and fight to the top by difficulty with several hundreds of levels ranging from multiple enemies to nothing but 2 to 3 bosses in one level is an experience that needed to be in Ninja Gaiden 3: Razors Edge.
I believe your review was critically on point! I bought ninja gaiden black and ninja gaiden 2 for my Xbox used for 5 bucks each! I also bought razors edge for 8 and didn’t bother getting the master collection. I believe they released the sigma versions because it was already back compatible and wanted to add “value” for your purchase. Ninja gaiden 3 is another case…they probably just wanted to give consumers a “bonus” for buying the collection
My biggest gripe with Sigma 2 is that they fixed my major issue with the blood in the Vita port, but then decided to just not fix that for the port that was going on all major systems. Like it is beyond lazy, and the weird purple mist is just distracting. The whole gameplay is based around dismemberment and brutal finishing moves that haven't really been touched at all. So everything is the same as it was in NG2 but they stripped the blood. It would be like getting Mortal Kombat 11 and the whole game being identical except with barely any blood and all dismemberment having a smoke effect. It is just noticeably off.
I hope someone mods the game to restore the blood some day! As for the collection I'm happy that we got all 3 of the games(even though first and second aren't the best versions of those games) in 1 package. Also I think NG3RE despite being super linear it's not as bad as people make it out to be.
@@kodata1021 Oh yeah NG3RE gets a bad rap. It’s certainly the worst of the bunch, but it is a dramatically better game than the original release. I am pretty irritated at the level of effort that went into this port as a whole though. Feel like we could have had the definitive version of Ninja Gaiden 2 if Team Ninja put the effort to revert the blood and gore, increase the enemy count and add back in some of the missing content.
Sigma is awesome, the 1 thing that would have made this perfect was the NES games, but for what it's worth I couldnt even unlock them on the Xbox original.
finally!..i've played the vanilla ng3..and yep, that's really suck..but with RE, the combat really hit the point and it's the closest thing i get to ng2 combat gore since my 360 died on me ToT
Just the fact that he said he "had to take the time to aim" and only jump in the air to be able to shoot his arrows he had no idea how to play Razor's especially after saying it took him a while to figure out the steel on bone techniques and just looking at his gameplays on the other 2 games he barely knew what he was doing at all 🤣 and it wasnt even an unbiased review so yea he was right to say you should avoid razor's edge, if your garbage like this guy in the video because if you give this game to someone who is actually good and knew what he was doing the review would be different plus not to mention if this guy had bothered to go and adjust his settings he could increase his camera and AIMING speed, AND on razor's edge you get your health back from taking out enemies with Ninpo but he wanted to say you dont get your health back unless you go save the game at a checkpoint so he just tells me he doesnt actually know how to play the game or any of the other two
We should review boom the collection until they make certain changes to make it better. We deserve better than this especially after the insanely long wait. Here is a list of changes they should make to the game: Sigma 1:nothing aggressively wrong with this port so small changes 1.Make all of the costumes from black available 2.(this is for all the games) make all difficulties available to ensure that people who already played them can actually just skip to their preferred difficulty 3.Make the Rachel chapters skippable after a first play through 4.Fix camera issues 5.Remove six ax-xis features 6.Add vibration 7.Make the 360⁰ rotation attack for the Dragon Sword chain into a juggle 8.Add Ninja of the Future costume Sigma 2: 1.Add back the gore and violence from the original 2.Increase the enemy counts to that of the original 3.Replace the free yet still annoying upgrade system of sigma 2 to that of the original 4.Make the chapters where you play as the heroins skippable after a first play through 5.Add all costumes from the original and DLC content 6.Add back the Windmill surikin 7.Add back charge attack for the bow 8.Add turbo mode from Sigma plus Razor's Edge:(nothing aggressively bad about this enhanced edition) 1.Add the costumes from 2 and 1
I actually liked Razor's Edge and Stigma 2 was solid need to play the first one but otherwise I genuinely like the master collection and think the 40 bucks was worth it
I'm only interested in the first Ninja Gaiden. If they gave me the option to ignore 2 and 3, I would buy this in a heartbeat. Hell if they charged me $30 just for the first game I would still get it.
@@tha8baller they let you down load them separately? I thought it work like Mass Effect legendary edition were you have to downloaded everything together.
@@bugz5556 yup at least on Xbox I have 3 separate downloads not one big file. It speaks to the laziness of the port tbh but it’s convenient to save space for sure
You CAN ignore the others. But honestly these versions are better (minus knit picking).. the frame rate is smooth as butter, the resolution is "busts nut" so fuckin good lol... I love the original.. and I 100% agree that these are not on par with the CONTENT of Black or the slight differences of the original 2... but it's damn good in it's own right... I was conflicted the entire time playing through the remasters but damn if they don't look and play crispy af. It's a trade off for sure but I wouldn't say its "bad" or it "sucks" JUST because minor things are missing or changed. Just different. I was disappointed with not having the windmill shuriken, or incendiary... or the trials from original 2... but it's worth it regardless. Everything is so clean and fluid.. if you love the first one (as do I lol it's the best) it looks stunning remasted... the nostalgia seeing the old game modernized and cleaned up is mesmerizing at times... it's almost a worthy trade off with all things considered. Disappointing... but still leagues above nearly all action games on the market.. which is a testament to how solid Ninja Gaidens gameplay is even for games a decade or more old.
Ninja Gaiden Black's music was one of the most nostalgic features of the game for me and I DIDNT APPRECIATE some of the music changes they made in sigma. It kills me
For me, Razor's Edge was the most satisfying of the series to beat. The challenging difficulty had me hooked. Except for the genuine novelty of NG Black, RE was my favorite.
@@00Clive00 I love ng black. The campaign on master Ninja isn't as difficult as the campaign on re ultimate Ninja, however the challenges on black were more difficult. YOU'VE obviously never beaten ninja gaiden re on ultimate Ninja WITHOUT new game plus stats.
It's strange cause I genuinely believe NG3RE is not even bad. Leagues better compared to NG3 vanilla. The fighting, obliterations, heck it even had a nice story compared to the other two. More human I guess? Either way. The complaints about the Ninpo are well founded. I hate they removed the Flails. But all 3 suffer from lack of a New Game Plus. That's why Black is so treasured as well.
It's pretty cool that there's a Ninja Gaiden collection but I wish it wasn't the Sigma versions of the first two games. But Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge was part of the collection instead of the base game so that's good.
This is a decent review! It's spot-on for the most part, especially Sigma 2. Razor's Edge is a VERY risk/reward game. The rocket dodging part he talks about frustrated me until I learned the timing. Each rocket fires a few seconds apart and you have time to split away from enemies and take them out separately, or use a little Karma and shoot them in the air with the bow. Healing is done through the meditation perk, your bird(save), or not taking damage, Razor's edge is more skill and patience than the other two. The Ninpo is now done through a Karma bar and it's great because it is more sensible than floating orbs of energy and the better you do in combat, the higher your Karma goes and the faster said bar fills. Then you can use said Karma bar for Ninpo OR to heal. This was not mentioned. RE is my favorite. I am blown away at how I smashed these games as a young boy/teen and as an adult, it's a lot more challenging at certain points now. I LOVE GAIDEN!
Razor's edge is garbage. It takes no skill and is the easiest of the 3. The story is shit most of the enemies are shit and the bosses are shit. The game at its core is a flawed mess.
Thank you! NG3 RE isnt thaaaat Bad most People make it out to be! Of course its not a Black or NE 2 x360! I had fun with RE because of the Violence! Regular 3 Was garage I agree!
Support the title if you want to see an NG4. You guys are nitpicking. I understand if your not a fan of the game but the original fans support it if you want NG4. Look for Nioh 2 director yasudas interview. They are banking on this to sell so that the executives will greenlight a new game. Your choice
Money grab…glad to be able to play them again however on modern hardware. Runs great on PS5. But it’s very lacking for a “remaster”. Kinda like Kingdoms of Amalur was. Still LOVE the games, just not fantastic imo. It’s decent
I think this is the laziest remaster since Dark Souls 1 Remaster. Really pales in comparison to Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and that's pretty rough considering that that's a pretty basic remaster.
well u can actually upgrade it while wielded by RYU Hayabusa, ( after Alma Boss fight), after it's done, u'll be on the outside of monastery, just go back inside and look for rachel's Warhammer
I loved the first ninja gaiden , it has exploration and cool bosses and weapons and upgrades and I wish they would of remade the first one and then a new one like the first. Definitely could of remade the first one for now and added a few new things out of respect for this excellent game and then like I said made a new one like the first one
Actually Sigma 2 is my favorite NG game. I am not much for hard games anymore I am 32 and I sure as hell don't have the time to mess with hard games for hours. Sigma 2 is straightforward no messing with puzzles and has the best 9 weapons and combat. I paid 28e for the pc version which is barebones sure but honestly I am using a gamepad for the last 10 years and it took me about 2min to find the info and set the resolution. Once the games are running there are no technical problems or slowdowns which is impressive considering the first NG2 ran like crap and Sigmas run like crap on the Vita. Having a 60 fps versions of it without any problems is a huge plus.
You can compare this collection to what Nintendo did with the Mario 3D collection... Very lazy ports with minimal efforts, do the least amount of effort and make the max amount of money out of it... Very sad to see. And this is the review for the PS/Xbox releases, the Switch version is almost unplayable with fame dips everywhere.
It really wasn't. There was just a lot to get used to. Steel on bone was a dope addition if exploited properly in my opinion. Chaining those kills together felt so badass and it kinda helped to clear a room.
People complaining left and right, many of which havent even played it. Ng1 and 2 are some of my favorite action games of all time. Played the originals of each multiple times and i love the sigma versions. They look better and got rid of some of the annoyances of the originals. And having them portable on the switch is awesome. The vita sigma games are expensive now so $40 for the 3 of them even with some low res visuals in 2 and 3 at times is fine by me. I just love the combat.
*I really wished that Tomonobu Itagaki was or would be Executive Director of Ninja Gaiden 4. It is very unfortunate that Team Ninja passed down Ninja Gaiden 4 Project to other Studios most of us Hardcore Ninja Gaiden fans never heard of or seen !*
Bottomline - this game is worth buying for people who didn't own xbox or don't own any xbox consoles. For people with Xbox console, get Ninja Gaiden black from microsoft store.
The pc ver is broken, so don't bother. Koei Tecmo dropped the ball hard with this game. Nioh is the spiritual successor to Ng, I mean the DLC pin you against Ryu ancestors.
Lol it's not that easy is why....writing an emulator takes a phd level of knowledge in computer science. Let alone certain aspects of the old xbox hardware may still be superior than that of the switch.
Let's just ignore Ninja Gaiden 3, that game's idea for difficulty is simply SPAM. Team Ninja definitely has a lot of learning to do when it comes to actual difficulty and versatility to get that true Itagaki game feel. At this point i'm hoping they learned enough to not half ass their games and to better understand what makes a great action game for their next NG game if they decide to make it.
Ninja Gaiden 2 was undoubtedly really good, but I do feel as though it's romanticized a bit when people compare it to Sigma 2. I think some of that is subjective though; personally I prefer having slightly fewer enemies who take longer to kill than having 2x the enemies who die in a few hits - not to mention the framerate and performance issues having that many enemies on screen at once would frequently result in. Also, while taking the gore out is definitely lame, it doesn't really bother me that much because I'm still performing insane combos with the added benefit of my game not slowing down. I'd play Sigma 2 any day, shit's badass.
Its sad that they want 40$ for a port of ps3 games with no coop and no mp. Not to mention sigma 2 has no gore and no enemy waves. I'm a big fan of NG series but I ain't falling for this cash grab, maybe 20$ on Christmas sale when they add gore back to sigma...
I like the difficulty of razor's edge. It keeps you on your feet. The board you're referring to with the open battleground where the rocket guys are on ledges was extremely hard. It took me over 10 tries, but I got it because I created a method on how to beat them. You just have to keep moving and arrow them fools when you can. Super charge slash enemies and jump slash as much as possible. I say again, it was hard. But it's a great board to test your skills on. I really like razor's edge. And maybe because I've mastered Ninja gaiden Black and 2.
Your game systems didn't delete your save files.....the lost souls of the hundreds of defeated players ate them with a nice flute of champagne accompanying.
Well razor edge fix everything and is now pretty love by the fans the story actually pretty good I think with Ryu like being dad to a little girl who want mizuki and Ryu to be together even tho Ryu and mizuki has sweet moments and probably like Ryu more than friends just man I want to see the sequel of ninja gaiden because Ryu is watching over the little girl in the ending afraid there's enemy's will come to get her again I just what his mission next
Bro FUCK the story, ryu has ruthlessly killed thousands of people he isn’t a father figure, don’t bring romance into either, keep it simple and have ryu be the silent stoic ninja that kicks the shit out of everything he’s always been.
@@ameernurhaqeem9738 you must be a Sony fan then, sad dads are Sony's specialty. Razor edge had a awful story and that director is a moron for adding QTEs to Ninja Gaiden before he sort of fixed it in RE but all the core problems remained
Sounds like the game must be receiving mixed to favorable reception so far from what I've heard. Anyways I'm still getting the game on the Switch no matter what. Why? Because I just want to support the franchise and be the source of boosting up more sales of the game to make it sell stronger and thus make the franchise popular and relevant again just like back in the good ol' days. 🤷♂️
I'm also liking Razors Edge now. It's a bit more tactical how to fight the groups because of no healing potions. Learning steel on bone technique helped make the gameplay more strategic than just full out hack and slash
Sigma 2 has tons of improvements. I don't buy the line that they are necessarily the worst versions. Ninja Gaiden 2 was at times a mess in its original form but xbox does have the upper hand nowadays because of the enhanced versions of Black and 2.
I actually have all the ninja gaiden games on both systems. However, I do prefer to play them on Xbox. I mostly got them on PS3 just in case my xbox dies or game doesn't play. Mostly for backup purposes. I recently got razors edge. It's nice so far. Still playing, but I know I'll like it, because I just love Ninja Gaiden period.
Let’s not pretend the 360 version Ninja Gaiden 2 didn’t have performance issues. That game at times could’ve dropped frames in some areas, with everything happening on the screen at once. It was the other reason why the enemy count was dropped and the gore tuned down. If anyone played the 360 version of Ninja Gaiden 2 they know what I am talking about. Razor's edge later solved that problem, I’ll add that in.
There is a part on NG2 on Xbox where you are running up a staircase and there are literally 50 enemies running towards you and the game starts slowing down like a matrix movie while you cut every single one of them down! I played NGS2 and that part just never felt the same 😔
So I played some NG3 RE, and it's weird. I didn't appreciate one single minute of main story with Hayabusa. None. But then, replaying the chapters as Ayane or Kasumi, who are so much faster, I'm having tons of fun. For me, the worst in NG3 is Ryu. And I loved him in the previous games so it's not that I don't like him just to be a hater. I don't know, I feel like Ayane and Kasumi are more suited for the gameplay of this one, given the insane number of ennemies onscreen
This review is soooooo subjective! I personally felt part two's combat made the game more fun than one and the skill it took to stay alive in three's well...get good! Those rocket guys are easy to take out right when you enter the room because they are usually spawned in before any other enemies so the game is basically telling you to kill them first. In some instances they spawn at the same time, but again get good and learn to prioritize your targets. These games aren't for button mashers. Once you get a good technique down you're an invincible blood splattering machine across any of the games. I totally love them all!!!
@@bittersweetjesus I get that but not to the point to where it's more about your skills at the game and less about the facts. Telling folks that ai is cheap or unfair because you can't figure out how to play the game properly? There's lots and lots of that type of thing in this review.
Well 😶 I really enjoyed the NG games on my PS3 regardless the version, so I now what to expect & should enjoy these on PS4 as well, especially since im on PS4 Pro.
This franchise is fantastic even though it contains the Sigma versions (which are equally as good as their predecessors). Bear in mind that NG2 was broken as the journalist said and I could confirmed it by playing Mentor and Master Ninja Mode. Hence, S2 is way better in that front (better framerate, new good content, no unfair tests of valor, no kunais, more tactic and tough IA as Sigma/Black, among other aspects). That being said, all four versions (Sigmas and xbox ones) are truly great, don't hear Sigma reviews because are mostly biased (and sometimes they even haven't played those versions). Enjoy this hardcore franchise independently the version you play, you will suffer a lot if you're a newcomer or a veteran (the latter in higher difficulties). Greetings.
@@SamSEnix I needed to do justice to the Sigma versions for once (I even play them on my ps3 until this day, at least every some time). In the future I will play the collection as well.
@@miguelprats3753 I still have my xbox 360 working perfectly with original versions of Black and 2, but I still bought this collection Day1 for the pc and I'm happy what I've got, I love it and in fact I'll get me a switch copy next month, it's just worth it. I don't get why there's so much hate towards Sigma games I think they fixed some stuff, while some stuff was handled better in originals, but I can't say I prefer original over Sigma or Sigma over original. I appreciate both and think they are exceptionally good. As for NG3RE I think that one is underrated and hated way too much, while it's somewhat enjoyable experience
@@kodata1021 Thanks for your comment, I appreciate the common sense but unfortunately fanboys lack that. Enjoying the games despite the version is the key, it holds (the franchise) the title of the best hack 'n slash ever and one of the best action games.
It’s so difficult for me to go to the sigma games after having originally expected black and 2 in their original forms. Sigma just feels neutered. I ended up just rebuying black and 2 on the Xbox store recently to show some support.
Funny how your criticism about the enemies in Razor's Edge was a much bigger problem in the original NG2, what with hordes of enemies relentlessly spamming incendiary shuriken. Yet you seem to glorify NG2 and condemn RE because of it.
This collection is not worth getting maybe at the lowest price but other than that skip it in my opinion.. ill stick to ninja gaiden black for xbox and ninja gaiden 2 for 360

This. Good thing I still have NGB and NG2 on my Xbox One S. I actually played them yesterday in place of this lazy ass port. And yes, I am a PC player, but I'll be damned if I'm going to spend $40 on the worst versions of the first two games.
It actually works quite well on pc, performance is great albeit extremely lazy and bare bones port of the games. They are still worth playing honestly, yes the originals are way better, but trust me these are still amazing way to play the games.
@@Puchacz_Okrutnik Buy it on sale if you want it so badly. I am a ninja gaiden fan, but unlike that guy, I won't bend over for horrible practices from these devs. It will just encourage them to continue down this road instead of improving. This collection is lazy as fudge.
I feel that the reviewer judged all games based on how similar they were to black, rather than judge them for what they were. So based on that bias, the future games gat graded lower. I had no problems with load times using an external HDD for PS4 pro. Ninja gaiden 3 was different, but different isn't automatically bad.
I love 3. Had a ton of fun with it back in the day. Just as much as 1&2. So judge for yourself. Telling people that most gamers should avoid it is just wrong.
When you don't reccomend something, your telling the reader to make a choice based on your opinion. By telling people to completly avoid it , your demanding the reader not to play it. Its just not professional.
Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge is my favorite of the three, lmao. Not as hard, not having trouble figuring out wtf to go like in 1/Black... it's still bullshit hard, I hated fighting that guy in the red coat the first time with the mask. I'm just glad Hero mode is in the first game
@@chadbrick67 I have fun with the first one/Black/Sigma/SigmaPlus whichever, but I'm just easily lost and more a fan of the DOA characters that eventually show up, like Momiji (I'm assuming she was in Gaiden first though), Ayane and even Kasumi. Getting to play as Rachel in the first game was nice though. I guess I just have differing tastes from regular hardcore NG players
"ate my save-file", what are you doing, i had all the consoles since the 80´s and have never got any savefile in any format eaten or destroyed, how does yo even get the savefile dead? Great review, love the series and now i will probably buy this one 2, even that i know that it will, once again, make me tear my hear off and give me headache as the original versions....
I played both vanilla versions of NG1 and 2 and loved them. I could only get a few levels into Razor's Edge before I quit. They got that one all wrong.
mannnnn people are really looking at this through nostalgic glasses.. i can kind of see what people are saying but master collection has the exact same gameplay as the original or black and thats the most important thing here.. who gives fuck if there are some more or less enemies or different bosses.. as long as slicing em feels as good as ever ?? just my opinion
Man, what a lazy collection. I love ninja gaiden but was really disappointed in the sigma versions. Gonna have to pass on this one, which sucks because I would love to support the franchise, just not at the cost of quality.
Why in god's name would they remove the awesome brutal gore system from OG NG2, it's one of the most satisfying things ever and the purple glowing shit is not even close to the same
The reason they lost the code for ng2 and black was jealousy from itagaki. It was his games and they hate him so much. Make something better than that guy so we can put his work behind but until now team ninja have failed to bring out a proper sequel.
@@SamSEnix yes i think he was demanding more bonus pay from tecmo and filled a case against them. So they fired him. The fact is i am not a fan of itagaki i am a fan of his work. He was the one that put ninja gaiden on par with gow and dmc back in the day.

I own a PS5 and NGB is not on PC 😢
I bought it for the nostalgic feeling, but still.. Black > Sigma
I got mad when I didn’t see the first doku cinematic, then I saw the boss fight and said “well…that’s new… but still…”
Nah I disagree.
These games are too frustrating on Master Ninja difficulty for me to go through again...
I disagree completely. I honestly don't understand the criticism to Sigma, though I really tried.
However,

KT claimed that they can’t port Black and the original 2 to gen 9 consoles because they lost the source code. That is a lie.
Itagaki sued KT a few years ago for unpaid royalties and he won. If KT had ported Itagaki’s games (Black and 2; he had nothing to do with the Sigma games), they would have owed him royalty payments which they do not want to pay him.
Very unfortunate

The gamestop dlc Outfit they include in this collection is amazing...
You heal yourself in NG3 by doing steel on bone attacks and chaining them. It was frustrating in the beginning until I figured out how this works.

That's the director of niohs response. Titled A
Q: With the release of this collection, is there a possibility of a sequel?
@@getawaydreamer2724 Well to be fair, Ninja Gaiden Black had a fuller feel due to some of the fights being longer, better progression, no watered down platforming sections, some cool visuals like after image and UT effects that were ironically removed in Sigma. But the Sigma in master collection also has the additions from Sigma plus including Fire wheel level up buffs which looks insane, some awesome new equipment that weren't included it other previous versions. So for newcomers and those who aren't bored of playing the game for the 100th time, the master collection is perfect.

That camera on vanilla NG1 nearly broke me.... then NG Black blew me away 👍.

Just the fact that he said he "had to take the time to aim" and only jump in the air to be able to shoot his arrows he had no idea how to play Razor's especially after saying it took him a while to figure out the steel on bone techniques and just looking at his gameplays on the other 2 games he barely knew what he was doing at all 🤣 and it wasnt even an unbiased review so yea he was right to say you should avoid razor's edge, if your garbage like this guy in the video because if you give this game to someone who is actually good and knew what he was doing the review would be different plus not to mention if this guy had bothered to go and adjust his settings he could increase his camera and AIMING speed, AND on razor's edge you get your health back from taking out enemies with Ninpo but he wanted to say you dont get your health back unless you go save the game at a checkpoint so he just tells me he doesnt actually know how to play the game or any of the other two
This is sarcasm right?
We should review boom the collection until they make certain changes to make it better. We deserve better than this especially after the insanely long wait.
Here is a list of changes they should make to the game:
Sigma 1:nothing aggressively wrong with this port so small changes
1.Make all of the costumes from black available
2.(this is for all the games) make all difficulties available to ensure that people who already played them can actually just skip to their preferred difficulty
3.Make the Rachel chapters skippable after a first play through
4.Fix camera issues
5.Remove six ax-xis features
6.Add vibration
7.Make the 360⁰ rotation attack for the Dragon Sword chain into a juggle
8.Add Ninja of the Future costume
Sigma 2:
1.Add back the gore and violence from the original
2.Increase the enemy counts to that of the original
3.Replace the free yet still annoying upgrade system of sigma 2 to that of the original
4.Make the chapters where you play as the heroins skippable after a first play through
5.Add all costumes from the original and DLC content
6.Add back the Windmill surikin
7.Add back charge attack for the bow
8.Add turbo mode from Sigma plus
Razor's Edge:(nothing aggressively bad about this enhanced edition)
1.Add the costumes from 2 and 1
minor additions: give us back the Incendary Shuriken AND the ability to charge all range weapons (remove the cannon to compensate in the result)

I think this is the laziest remaster since Dark Souls 1 Remaster. Really pales in comparison to Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and that's pretty rough considering that that's a pretty basic remaster.
You forgot to mention Kasumi!

It's weird that you can't do it for Rachel though
Rachel's Warhammer gets upgraded automatically as you go through the game
You should check out ninja gaiden 2 on a current xbox. The epic staircase scene runs like butter.
Cmon razors edge isn’t that bad

I agree 110% this collection is a dumpster fire. I rather play it on my OG xbox.
The pc ver is broken, so don't bother. Koei Tecmo dropped the ball hard with this game. Nioh is the spiritual successor to Ng, I mean the DLC pin you against Ryu ancestors.
Why can't they extract the Ninja Gaiden 2 ISO from the internet or from a disc and throw it in a xbox 360 emulator and be done?
Likely due to copyright issues
Lol it's not that easy is why....writing an emulator takes a phd level of knowledge in computer science. Let alone certain aspects of the old xbox hardware may still be superior than that of the switch.
It works on the xenia emulator 60fps 4k on my i9 11900k RTX2080ti..
I think getting black and NGII Xbox one X enhanced versions from the store.
Well the ME remaster trilogy is 60 so potato potato tomato tomato.
Honestly it's not a bad deal.

Honestly, Razor's Edge is my fav. LOVE IT.
I'm also liking Razors Edge now. It's a bit more tactical how to fight the groups because of no healing potions. Learning steel on bone technique helped make the gameplay more strategic than just full out hack and slash
Xbox ate my save file
Translation: I rage quit.
I played NGS2 and that part just never felt the same 😔
ruclips.net/video/o34ZgIe-rp0/видео.html
Nope, we don't feel that way at all because we all had it installed and none of that happened. It's your delusions talking there.
@@RUclipsCensors Nah, your delusions are talking there actually. The 360 version NG-2 didn't run great at all.
Reviews are supposed to be subjective.
Well, my series x is coming in a couple of days. Luckily I bought NGB digitally 10+ years ago, and will pick up NG2 on disc for a couple of quid 🤷🏻♂️
This is probably the most accurate review for this.
Greetings.
Thank you so much for writing down my thoughts like an opened book...
This entire review was terrible
Exactly my thoughts
This collection is not worth getting maybe at the lowest price but other than that skip it in my opinion.. ill stick to ninja gaiden black for xbox and ninja gaiden 2 for 360
Spoken like a true ninja Gaiden fan. You love to see it. I hate sigma 🤦🏽♂️ bought boffum though cause I’m a fan boy. If I get the collection it’ll be just to say I have every version of ninja Gaiden on one console 😂
prob worth it on the switch if you want a portable version of these games
If you Play on Xbox just get ninja gaiden black en ninja gaiden 2 second hand somewhere or buy in Xbox store those are the better versions of black and 2 and if you got Xbox one x ninja gaiden 2 is x enhanced so you get 1800 p resolution and a locked 60 fps
So if you Play on Xbox dont buy this you regret it just get the better versions for less money
This. Good thing I still have NGB and NG2 on my Xbox One S. I actually played them yesterday in place of this lazy ass port.
And yes, I am a PC player, but I'll be damned if I'm going to spend $40 on the worst versions of the first two games.
Should have given us the option to play NG: Black and the original NGII on the 360
The files are corrupted and impossible to port
I really like Razors Edge
Not the same game without the blood, gore and visceral violence. Not as satisfying to kill enemies. Sigma is Ninja Gaiden rated PG : (
Snowflake version
I hate the fact that it's only digital no physical copy
Asia is the only place that has a advantage (physical copy of the game) and that's not doing us any good
I hate digital
As a PC gamer, that never was able to play Ninja Gaiden games, I was very hyped for PC port. And now... I am disappointed.
It actually works quite well on pc, performance is great albeit extremely lazy and bare bones port of the games. They are still worth playing honestly, yes the originals are way better, but trust me these are still amazing way to play the games.
@@kodata1021 Ok, I'll give a chance to these games on some sale
@@Puchacz_Okrutnik Buy it on sale if you want it so badly. I am a ninja gaiden fan, but unlike that guy, I won't bend over for horrible practices from these devs. It will just encourage them to continue down this road instead of improving. This collection is lazy as fudge.
The only good thing about razers edge is it lets you play as the other characters in ryus and ayanes levels which makes it replayable
Shame they decided to make such a quick and dirty port of these. Deserved better.
It's too bad we just get the Neutered version of part 2. Having the Original Part 2 would be the only reason to get this
I feel that the reviewer judged all games based on how similar they were to black, rather than judge them for what they were.
No, it isn't, because giving us their judgement and recommendation is a reviewer's job.
@@matti_xiii Don't explain sense to him. Bounces off.
Nah, the reviewer tells his opinion. Then the consumer decides to avoid it or not. Very simple stuff.
@@redbeardnj Different tune - 'Telling people that most gamers should avoid it is just wrong.'
Wow you are easily pleased..ninja gaiden black is where its at
@@chadbrick67 I have fun with the first one/Black/Sigma/SigmaPlus whichever, but I'm just easily lost and more a fan of the DOA characters that eventually show up, like Momiji (I'm assuming she was in Gaiden first though), Ayane and even Kasumi.
Yes, it's a pain due to enemies blocking a super ninja's attack 24/6 not 7 because that one hit gets through
mannnnn people are really looking at this through nostalgic glasses.. i can kind of see what people are saying but master collection has the exact same gameplay as the original or black and thats the most important thing here..
who gives fuck if there are some more or less enemies or different bosses.. as long as slicing em feels as good as ever ??
just my opinion
Did you really know what exactly happened between Tecmo Koei and Itagaki? I'm not going to answer... Just look it up...
@@SamSEnix yes i think he was demanding more bonus pay from tecmo and filled a case against them. So they fired him. The fact is i am not a fan of itagaki i am a fan of his work. He was the one that put ninja gaiden on par with gow and dmc back in the day.
Nioh 1 and 2 show team ninja can do good game just ninja gaiden 3 the vanilla is disappointing I know they can do better than that but about the lost code u can actually lose it even kingdom heart 1 is actually remake by square enix because they lost the code of the game
