I don't get why people are all so bitchy about the Mansions. They KNOW, for the vast majority of them that this is not a presidential palace with 5 stars hotels, so if they are looking for 5 star-hotels why are they going there? You will find low budget accomodation here. It's cheap, it's small, a bit humid (this is HK), ok. Besides this fact, this place is unique in the entire world: people from EVERYWHERE inside 5 blocks, all running businesses for a living. Hostels, restaurants (quite tasty and cheap), currency exchanges, mobile phones, little supermarkets, internetcafes with 20 year old computers and an old chinese lady cashing you as you get out, everything you could think of... always with this light curry smell everywhere on ground floor. As for safety, i did not feel unsafe (ok i'm a male), even at 2am back from outside. Anyway, you might like it, you might hate it, but don't leave Hong Kong without having tried it. 重慶大廈萬歲！
Don't let this video deceive you, Chungking Mansions is an old structure, people urinate all in the allies and it smells and the rooms are only 12 by 8 foot rooms. It may be fine for those that want to save money but the place is very old.

Some of the rooms are like phone booths that have tipped over--just space enough to lie down and sweat. Most people on planet earth are poor and hot, so what do you expect? Love comparing notes with people who have been there. If aliens every drop in from some distant star system, take them to the Mansions. They'll immediately understand everything... after they've been conned into buying a reconditioned smart phone built from the remains of 3-other defunct smart phones. Everything and everyone is of dubious lineage in the Mansions. Be sure to visit the Khyber Pass Grill up on the top floor. Gunga Din cooks the late afternoon shift. Wear your pith helmet for a discount.
estuve hospedado en king mansion ...... jjjj llegue de madrugada un poco de temor.... en la madrugada salen los lobos y lobas.....ajajaja!! pero es chevere el lugar aunque no lo paresca ahy camaras por todos lados asi que es un poco dificil que te roben.. a no ser que se te caiga la billetera..... el ascensor lo malo es muy pequeño.... asi que ahy que hacer colas.... lo demas ahy de todo para comer comprar bares es chevere....... pocos hispanos, ahy que buscar!! pero si la ciudad se mueven como hormigas... recomendado el Bar la luna.... no me acuerdo la calle pero es chevere busquenla en Facebook es bien acojedor y un ambiente muy Agradable .... el dueño habla español muy bien!. .... wan shay es bien chevere tambien para comer y tomar conocer gente.... etc!
Yeah what a good video to present a piece of shit. The structure is HUMID AT 900% every floor is drenched in water, people place newspapper on the floor to walk. Only stay there for a few days, i've been there 5 days and all my clothes are humid its so annoying. Rest assured tho about the migrant, the place is verrry safe, they are just annoying / funny sometimes.
