To be honest with you it’s been awhile since I did this so I can’t remember off the top of my head and it may be different per year. I would follow your manual.
Hi David, thanks for the awesome video. I was curious as to how your rear brake adjusts. I just bought a rear brake cable but realized upon installing it that I don’t have any sort of adjustment screw or anything.
old school. when there is presence of oil in drum get torch, heat shoes, burn oil out till it bubbles on shoes. turn off torch, wipe with acetone. repeat. if u dont do this shoes will reglaze at first heat
Thank you I appreciate that. Since that video I sold the bike. But I believe it’s the adjuster down at the rear wheel that you adjust that tension on the bar what you use to tighten that the cable. Mine just needed to be lubed up and then it worked properly. I hope that helps
Does it matter which side the axel is inserted? You are inserting left to right, but diagrams on line show right to left.

so you didnt use the spring on the brake arm which is literally giving me hell rn on my st90
Sorry somehow missed your message. Not sure the spring you’re talking about? The one on the pedal? Hope you were able to figure it out?

I didn’t know that. Thanks for sharing.
Just to clarify; I am taking about the rear hand brake. Not the foot brake

It does. Thanks again. I’ll be referring to this video several times when redoing the front brakes. Much appreciated!
Would have been more useful had all work been shown.
Thank you for your comment. I try and keep the videos as short as I can but still have as much helpful content as I can. Thanks
