    Agreed, A very nice job indeed. My brother is a talented airbrush artist and I think you are quite talented as well. I hope to build one for myself one day soon. I wish I had a step by step of how you did it. Regardless thank you for such a great video. I subscribed and hope to see more of your work. Great Job!

    I just picked up a beat up Mini Baja. The first thing that I did was buy that same engine from Harbor Freight. I also bought a lot of parts from monsterscooterpartsDOTcom. Thanks very much for the inspirational video to get my self motivated for my own rebuild. Great Video!

      Thank you for watching and good luck with your project. Just one tip- make sure your pulleys are aligned correctly or else it will chew up your belt. I added some washers behind the driver pulley and it fixed the problem. My first belt lasted me about 2 days. Had to get a new belt for it. now it runs like a Harley. :)

    Oh man that is one amazing design! Love the springer forks. Nice touch with the Benny Hill theme. Any chance of getting some dimensions for the frame? What tires and wheels are those?

    • @balabay77
      @balabay77  8 лет назад

      I did make a video of frame dimensions in this video here: ruclips.net/video/kdzBH8ipe-w/видео.html As far as tires and any other type of parts you need heres a good place to start www.ombwarehouse.com/165-028-baja-oem-front-or-rear-tire-19-x-7-00-8.html
      But to get the best deal on parts your best bet is eBay. Good luck and thanks for checking out my video.

    I can think of several reasons why i would not make a bicycle with motor. No matter how you spin it, motorized bikes are still considered a motorcycle which requires M2 license. (Cops can impound it at their discretion) The cost $$$ would be about the same as rebuilding a used mini bike. Bicycle wont last for very long off road if you ride it with enthusiasm. Frame and tires will fall apart. Smaller kids or teens feel safer on a mini bike because its lower to the ground than bicycle. Mini bikes tires are over-sized and heavy duty, great for any terrain.

    • @larkenmcrorie3932
      @larkenmcrorie3932 10 лет назад +1

      Bikes are a bad idea.. Not meant for motors. Also what is the back gear tooth count, on mine is a 60 tooth so I was wondering if I should use the 10 or 12 tooth for the torque converter.

    • @balabay77
      @balabay77  10 лет назад +2

      It depends on the rear sprocket. If it's made for #40 chain than use 10 tooth sprocket. If it was made for #35 chain than use 12 tooth sprocket.

      THE BIKE CAN GO UP TO 55 MILES PER HOUR (88 KM/HOUR). TORQUE CONVERTER CAN BE FOUND ON EBAY OR AMAZON FOR AROUND $100 TO $140 DOLLARS DEPENDING ON THE SELLER.

      The person who sold me the frame was going to put this bike together but lost interest. His neighbor does awesome paint job so he did it for him. I basically finished the project. That's the only reason why I posted this video because of the fenders and gas tank. Otherwise, it would of been more of the same on here just another mini bike. Can't take any credit for airbrush paint job.

    Вообще супер. Я где то слышал и так же всегда считал что всё гениальное просто! Только вот колёса такие нужно найти. Я заразился идеей. Спасибо. Ролик очень качественный. 5+ Если не секрет, за сколько аппарат продался?

      Здравствуй Петя
      Уступил этот байк за $450 малоимущей семье на Рождество прошлого года. Парень купил своему сыну. Самое прикольное то что это видео мне сделало больше штуки баксов. Колеса лучше искать в сантиметрах а не в дюймах а то фигня получится подгонять чтобы все совпало. На сайте OMBwarehouse.com там есть все чтобы собрать байк. Жаль что не все продавцы на EBay ведут торговлю с Россией а так бы там можно было бы замутить много деталей. Удачи.

    • @domino78w
      @domino78w 10 лет назад

      balabay77 Спасибо за ответ. Да, действительно тема интересная, да и не дорогая. Можно было бы действительно массово эти тыр-тырычи собирать для детей. Ценовой диапазон до штуки баксов привлек бы внимание народа. Там есть ещё одна интересная деталь которая мне не встречалась никогда. Это переходник с ремня на цепь. Как она правильно называется и она продаётся в комплекте с силовым агрегатом или отдельно? И ещё если можно узнать про сцепление. Оно не посредственно в самом силовом агрегате, автомат?

    • @balabay77
      @balabay77  10 лет назад +1

      Привет Петр
      Хотел сказать что выложенное видео на RUclips мне уже заработало примерно $1400 а насчет мотыков то они у нас новые стоят $600 и нет смысла собирать их для продажи. (Чейта молой шею свернет проблем не оберешься). Мото блок m.harborfreight.com/65-hp-212cc-ohv-horizontal-shaft-gas-engine-epa-69730.html продается отдельно а автоматическая "транс" отдельно. Вот как она работает ruclips.net/video/wasnV6BTu3c/видео.html Ролик "А" который на моторном вале зажимает ремень при 2400 оборотов в минуту и драндулет поехал. Ролик "Б" меняет положение ремня при развитие скорости. Эта вся суета называется comet torque converter 30 series TAV2. Мне они обходятся на eBay $120 вместе с доставкой. Все пучком когда байк выходит дешево и не жалко ухайдокать.

    Great video! I really like how you tell people to dump out the factory oil:-) I have build many engines and after break-in. I always change the oil. there is so much metal shavings and such that can ruin a new engine!. Great video!

    • @balabay77
      @balabay77  10 лет назад

      Indeed. Thanks for your support. New engine comes with such a small amount of oil that its better to dump it than mix it with new oil. I guess some people are very cheap and chose to use it instead of getting rid of it (when i say dump it, i meant recycle it at your local auto shop, Walmart, jiffy lube or whatever.)
      Anyways, thanks for viewing my vid and have a great day.

    It took me several weeks to buy all the necessary parts like torque converter, throttle handle, brake lever and cable and some other odds and ends. (delivery took too long and also bought items from different sellers on Ebay ). Sanded, primered, and painted over the weekend (got to let the pain set and dry really good) Then i put it all together over the following weekend. Took me about a month to get it running. if you can find a rolling chassis minus the engine it would be faster to build.

    and with the bigger tires, you made a good choice to go with the torque converter.

    Probably already been said by now, but you do not have to dump the factory oil. That oil is specifically designed for the break in period which is during the first 10 hours or so. After that you can use whatever oil the manual says to use.

    • @balabay77
      @balabay77  8 лет назад

      Contrary to popular belief, the oil you get with new engine is probably some shitty vegetable oil or cooking oil just to test the engine at the factory. Do you really think that in a 100 dollar motor they would add premium quality oil? Where do you get that info from? Im not being rude, just want to know where does it say that factory oil should not be removed or dumped? Besides, theres only maybe 4 ounces at the most at the bottom of that engine so by recycling it would not be such a big loss. Please find me a link that proves me wrong. Thanks for commenting and watching my video.

    I had that minibike its called a Hawg-Ty.. They are a brother to the Baja Heat and Warrior, just a different front end and seat configuration. I absolutely hated it, it was wayyy too big for a minibike. It felt like a 2 wheeled atv because of those huge tires. I traded my chassis for a 70's JC Penny chassis and im loving it. I really miss my Bonanza BC1100 that I sold years back!

    • @balabay77
      @balabay77  11 лет назад

      Yes, the bike is kind of bulky but its great on grassy fields thanks to those atv tires. It rides through grass just as fast as riding on the streets. We have another, newer Baja mini bike with front strut fork and its much better on bumps and pot holes. I prefer the other bike over this one.

    • @balabay77

      I've used automotive gray primer to prevent rust and than used black paint that can be found in any aftermarket auto store like pep-boys, o'reilley, or NAPA. Yes, if you type "30 series torque converter" than you'll get lots of listings for them. Most of these bikes comes with clutch but it does not go very fast. with a torque converter it acts like a small automatic transmission and it changes gear ratio on its own. Chain attaches to driven pulley (10 tooth sprocket behind it) but the belt does all the magic. If you google clutch VS Torque converter you will get lots of info. Some people like clutches but i prefer TAV2. Engines last longer with them

    What is better about the torque converter over the standard clutch. When I take my stock Baja out in the woods it rips ass everywhere smokin 4 wheelers. How much better is the toque converter belt drive?

    • @balabay77
      @balabay77  7 лет назад

      FearlessFront D.W.
      From my personal experience, torque converters help achieve higher top speed than standard clutch. Stock Baja mini bike goes about 25mph but with 30 series TQ it goes 45-50mph. Don't have to take my word for it. Check out other people's videos. Cheers

    Hey nice baja. I have the old baja mini. Any chance you know who makes the engines ? My carb floater broke. More than likely from water getting into the carb and freezing. I was driving it through 3 feet of snow.

      Hello Greg. Sorry but i do not know who makes these engines but if you need parts for your carb than your best bet would be Ebay. You can also look up ombwarehouse.com for parts. Good luck with your Carburetor and hope you get it fixed. Thanks.

      They are cloned after the Honda slant motors. Yeah cheaper materials, but I haven't had any problem other than ethanol gas gumming the carb. Just take it apart shoot it up with carb cleaner and back to running. Check out the trick stuff the did to the Taco mini bike on the motor trend channel. It's a harbor freight motor all chromed out.

      The seat came with the frame. This type of frame is called Hawg Ty and i think after they stopped making these bikes the company redesigned mini bike to baja heat and baja warrior with front suspension. I'm sure you can still find similar seats on eBay or amazon.

      Thanks for checking out my video. I assembled this bike for the purpose of posting it here. Had no intentions of keeping it. Cheap paint did the trick and I sold it to some kid from San Francisco. Don't know why people like this particular design, maybe because it looks like a mini chopper I guess. Without shock absorbers it was just too rough. Rode best on pavement.

    Cool Video. How's your engine running? From what I understand it's not a good idea to break in an engine with synthetic oil, I guess it's "too Slippery" to properly seat the rings. Just my two cents. Nice clean project!

    • @balabay77
      @balabay77  10 лет назад

      I don't know much about these engines and i'm not planning on tweaking them like other people on here but one thing is for sure, they are disposable. use them, abuse them and replace them for $99 bucks. Thank you for the tip, 10W30 should be just fine. There is no need for synthetic. Currently i have 3 predators and they all work great. my oldest motor is over 2 years old and still runs like i bought it yesterday.

    How did you connect the headlight to the Predator engine? I'm working on a custom bike and I plan to use the Predator 212cc 6.5hp motor. But I'm having trouble finding a way to connect the headlight to the engine. Any tips on this would really help. Thanks!

    • @balabay77
      @balabay77  8 лет назад

      The headlight is there just for looks. Predator engines don't have magnetos thats why they are cheaper than the rest of the engines. I've seen others on youtube install magneto and they were able to draw 12v power out of it. If you need a functioning headlight then i would suggest getting another engine thats already set up for that. I think Ebay and amazon sell them cheaper then any local stores out there. Good luck with your project and let me know how it turns out. Cheers
