Why would you use the same swab for multiple fingerprints? What if they are different person's prints? Or can a single swab differentiate multiple DNA profiles without contamination?

Thats correct! Its cmon for the computer to show mixed profiles (many peoples DNA) although it can be messy and hard to read, concering if they are comparing it a suspect or victim DNA (ofc ruiling out their family or anyone who the victim allowed to touch their laptop, maybe roomates, school friends etc) or trying to find a hit on a FBI database if they can be found if has prev record

People in this field have it drilled into their heads not to touch a single thing unless your hands are gloved. They walk around with surgical gloves in their pockets like you or I carry our wallets.
