Fitzee your a righteous dude. You have any idea how many people have benefitted from viewing your content? Probably more than you'd think would. So many DIY'ers would have F'd up their projects if it weren't for you. On behalf of all of us I want to give a big Thank You.
I agree. No silly fill music, No lame comments or no stop cursing ( MY friend Pete stlye) just basic simple technique and straight forward explinations. Oh..and i love his accent. Fitzee you rock man.
@@mohawkmike142 you got that right I watched my friend Pete for a while but I got sick of hearing him complain and cuss all the time and then act like he is trying to help people out. He is rude to everyone and yet begs for people to support his channel. I had to unsub. I am sure glad I found this channel. I've done learned plenty from Fitz. Heck Pete is always contradicting himself all the time.
Hi Fitzee I’m 65 years old. Been restoring cars for a few years. Getting brave these days with replacing floors and cutting rust patches out then might welding new in. Your common sense videos have helped enormously. No glitz and glamour, just a no nonsense approach us novices can understand. Thanks Allen
I have been turning wrenches all my life but never done much body work... I have a 1977 K5 Blazer that has a good amount of rust in the firewall area that I am trying to repair... I was dreading trying to do the repairs until I started watching Fitzee's videos... I have learned a LOT watching him and I am doing a lot better on my repairs... I am still having some trouble with blowing through the sheetmetal at times but I am getting better thx to Fitzee...
I have been braising and using lead filler. It takes a bit longer to braise it, but I don't have MIG yet. I did try a cheap Harbor Freight MIG and the welds were crap. I'm just like you I have been spinning wrenches for many many moons but I'm just getting into bodywork. I have pretty much retired from auto repair and am concentrating on buying pre-72 muscle cars to restore. I have seen a lot of videos on body repair and this guy is the best to learn from IMHO.
Extremely helpful hints. Fixing to begin restoration of a 72 chevelle for my wife. Lots of patch work to be done. Can already tell you have saved me tons of work. Keep putting out vids
Absolutely brilliant, love how you approach your video’s in a positive manner. It’s great to know there’s someone out there showing these videos so the average bloke can realise that panel work really isn’t that hard...just have a crack at it.
It’s funny watching these older videos. In spite of all his years of experience, Tony has gotten better at these repairs by doing these videos for us, particularly his welding.
I want to thank you. Your videos have given me the confidence to do some floor panels in my son's J-20. Came out great! Thank you so much for the time and your demeanor. It matters.
I’m an amateur and chopping my first car on my small RUclips channel … watching videos like this helps me see that the cut and butt is pretty ugly sometimes before you get to the final product.. thanks
At first it looked sketchy but when you sit back and watch experience show different methods, it makes the world of difference. Thank you a million for this
excellent tip. Watched first time toubd thought I missed something. Watched again and realused how clever and simple the technique is. Well impressed. Thsnks Thumbs up!
Fitzee. Thank you for the videos. I am gaining skills and confidence to restore my 53 Studebaker rust bucket. Its Been a great welding project. You are a terrific teacher you make it look so easy. Thank you. !!
Fitzee, you are a genius! I love your videos, so incredibly helpful. I’m truly inspired by your work 😊. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us on RUclips.
Thanks fitz I get a lot out of your videos . I have a 1936 Buick me and my dad did a frame off restoration . Took 11 years and is one Beautiful car . Working on a 71 Pontiac lemans sport conv .. also I have a 1987 jag xj6 vdp . My wife says please no more cars !!! Well I said, if you turn over on a cold morning like my cars 😂😜 maybe !
You have helped me tremendously I was kinda intimidated about cutting too much off etc...your vids got me ready to start doing some patching, and I understand you fime enuff fitzee....great vid keep it up....
Haven't been to Newfy for quite a number of years now. I find Your accent reminds me of better times. It's not too strong anyhow. Nice work on that corner.
Just love your teaching, of the way you get the process done . Easy to follow and well explained I really appreciate it. Good Job my friend. God bless to you and your family.
I’ve been stuck watching ur vids lately . Cool cool cool techniques u have . I’ve been kicking my own ass doin it the “old fashion way” I guess u can say lol
I like the fact you welded the bottom butt weld on the bottom roll. With the weld on the roll you get greater edge control for any filler and not needing to fill that edge with plastic making a much better edge in the end.
Something like fitting an insert in a web frame on a ship. Where we dog the piece up pretty tight against the frame or bulkhead. Whatever the case. Then use a cutting torch with a small tip to cut around the insert so it will drop into place using a strong back to keep the metal all level. Same principle, different technique due to the material thickness difference.
I believe that is called a shrinking disc. I believe the serrations on it somehow heat the area a bit more than regular grinding do and if you go over high spots a little bit and then cool them rapidly with a wet rag i think they tend to bring the high metal down slightly. You can probably do a You Tube search for "shrinking disc" and learn the intended technique.
Going back to some earier videos. You're making me think i may be able to tackle some of this. My holy sidekick and bubbling ford have no idea whats coming.
Hey brother I have a complaint my complaint is about that you make this look so easy to do that you people think that they can do it too 😉 you are awesome 👌 God Bless
Lucky you. I like rust. Gives me an excuse to be outdoors and saying hullo to the neighbourhood. Especially summer time. Jokes aside, Seriously though am happier to build it than buy it. Patches is a really cool project I am following and like bespoke vehicles. Thanks fitzee
Let's not call this technique a cut and butt, it should be known as a Fitzee. Great tips and tricks make this my go to channel keep them coming please.
Wow! Thanks for helping some of us see solutions from a different perspective. We're always consumed by how to make the hole smaller, but sometimes you need to make a larger patch to to close it it up easier.

I'm just starting to weld my van up, not a professional welder, but hobby one, your tips are really good, Thanks.
Fitzee, those Walter flexcut grinding wheels are awesome, just a bit pricey, but worth it.
Hey Fitzee ! I can here your dialog starting to form ,you've come along way on improving your videos in every way ! 👍keep em coming !

Bought a tube of those grinding wheels.. not cheap here in US. But doing quarters and rockers on my 56 chevy last week...they worked well.👍👍👍👍
Can I ask where you found them? Looks like they were an A36 an orange color. Were they rigid or flexible. Thanks
