I edc a surge on my duty belt, it's been an awesome tool, I have a 5.11 6x6 pouch that I have with me at work where I carry a few essentials such as mints, tissues, snacks, a small first aid kit, and a power bank. 👍
I had a similar problem with the Velcro on a pouch. My friend gave me the idea to undo the stitching on one end of the Velcro. Then slide a thin piece of metal under it. On the other side put a 🧲 under it. As for the enclosure part.... ???
Fanny packs usually have a zipper to keep tools from jostling out. And, it has its own belt, so like a framer, you can easily take the load off your hips during lunch.
Where can you get extra Klein bits? I am going to experiment with a bag you are using and one that is 3 pistol magazine holders. Good luck with your new bag the mollie system works really the downside is that you can’t use clips with it you have to undo your belt to take it off.
True. I saw Home Depot has a husky version of this for $9 with a pocket clip and it looks more durable. Someone else mentioned Dewalt's zippable pouch which looks great for $27. Looks like Home Depot has replacement Klein bits for the pocket screwdriver on their website about $4 each.
In an automotive workshop, I carry LM Surge or SOG PowerAccess Deluxe. For a flashlight, I carry the cheapest AAA flashlight I can find because I keep losing them! Love the wear on your Surge sheath, it could tell some stories. Great video, thanks.
I used a commercial electric multitool for the parts and shaped the stripper to fit the t shank adapter. I have a video detailing more about it coming out tonight. Hopefully that helps.
I use a Maxpedition Barnacle, the Surge fits nicely on it, so does the OLIGHT S2R, as a ratchet i used the Wera Mini ratchet, much smaller and sturdy, helps with space as the Barnacle only takes tools up to 4.5" (11.5 cm), should fit your extension and the socket set. Don't think the Klein tool will fit, looking for one that will myself.
As I'm a IT guy, I don't really need any tools, but to be on the safe side (e.g. when it comes to open a beer bottle) I carry the good old Victorinox Spartan with my. Didn't hear about the Midnite so far, but after your recommendation I put it on my wishlist. I enjoy your professional reviews btw!
I do handyman type stuff and my edc is a leatherman p4 and that same CLC pouch. In it I carry a 5 inch cobra pliers, 5 inch pliers wrench, an olight s1r baton flashlight, a Milwaukee fastback 5 in 1, an inkzall marker, and a pica pencil. And I carry a fatmax tape measure on a holstery tapemaster. I just bought a veto mp1 pouch so I'll probably stop carrying the CLC pouch
I have a suggestion for the wallet: try an Arc company wallet! They’re a wallet built for having a couple of tools on the front and cards inside of it! They come in multiple sizes and aren’t too expensive. Hope that helps!
Dewalt sells a pretty good edc case. I tend to over load mine but it has a decent size zipper portion then a velcro section. I havent lost anything as of yet so ill take that as a good sign. The only thing I did was remove the Dewalt badge off of the front of it.
Hard to beat the Surge… it’s tried and true! Good luck on that pouch hunt, there’s only a bajillion out there to choose from.🙄 I like your idea of keeping fishing line and hooks with you though. You never know when the opportunity to “wet a line” will arise! 😆
Not a bad set up, but it would be better if you didn’t carry items that complement your tool bag. Try to go universal, with what I have I can damn near pull a service call and a maintenance with what’s on my hip. My carry items don’t exceed 5 pounds
I think it's time for a new Leatherman tool pouch. There's a difference between honest wear and worn out, and I think that pouch has reached the worn out stages. It looks awful. (and now that the video is made, throw that Leather Craft pouch away. It looks bad, and you're not using it.
I got tired of looking for the right pouch. So I made one. A leather pouch just right for my application. I too am a hvac tech.🎉
Very nice! I'm working on a new HVAC EDC for 2023. That pouch sounds cool!
Love the surge. I carry it in the Shapeways holster with two extra blades, 9 extra bits, and the extension. Thanks for showing your loadout.
Sounds great! Thanks for watching!
You should try the maxpedition cmc wallet. I have been carrying one for the last 6 years and love it.
I'll have to check that out.

Can you show the tool you modified to make the wire stripper? That's genius!
Sure I'll try to make a video detailing how it's done. Thanks for watching!

Good tip! Thanks.
Ever considered a fanny pack worn on the front?
I tried a hip pouch like that for a while but noticed it makes my hip lean to that side after a while.

What do I search for to get the tiny keychain razor?
On Ebay if you type in "keychain brass cleaver" several come up. You may have to arrange keywords to find the best deal.
Hvac Budget Danke!

That pouch looks really nice! Sounds like a great kit!
For a belt pouch, with zippered area and velcro flap with storage. I have been using the DeWalt DH5104, it's versatile and durable. Cheers 🇨🇦
I really like that!! Excellent recommendation.

@@hvacbudget8600 that's very popular in Europe - not only in Switzerland!

Did not know leatherman made a wire stripper for the blade exchanger!
Unfortunately they don't. I had to rig it up. I wish they did!

Yeah both pouches have been thoroughly worn!
Worn is good, like a nice used Carhartt jacket!
