From the album 'Sleep In Safety'. All the other uploads of this classic were in mono, so I took it upon myself to restore the audio. Enjoy! directed by Graeme Whifler.
The band re-worked the lyrics when they recorded it for the Return of the Living Dead soundtrack; but yeah, the original version on the "Sleep In Safety" album is pretty bleak.
This is the original song by 45 Grave with the original lyrics about a 5 girl, Sabine who was abused and tortured by her family. The song on RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD was shortened and sped up and re-written with (zombie version) lyrics.
Recently discovered this band after hearing their name in a documentary. Looked them up out of curiosity and I’m glad I did 🖤 been listening to Sleep In Safety non stop. And seeing these death rockers having fun and being creative makes me happy 🖤
Check out the compilation of their early stuff called Autopsy aswell as compilation tracks like the hell comes to your house compilation and the black cross 45. Also check out Cab Driver by Vox Pop(mostly same band members and a really cool similar vibe) they are pre 45 grave. They both came from a phoenix punk band from 77-78 called the consumers who had a whole album recorded but didn't get released till the 2000s it's a classic too, it's called all my friends are dead
89 baby and honestly can say we enjoyed the last good year's of music, partying and enjoying ourselves to the fullest before cancel culture, tik tok and everything is now suddenly offensive took over...
i was a teenager in the early 80's here in L.A. big into the punk scene and still a goth/metalhead/punkrocker/alternadude to this day and fer years i wondered why it is this band never got the recognition they deserved fer their enormous contribution to the whole "deathrock" scene (the term "goth" was british and was not used then because the two scenes had nothing to do with each other) along with various other bands that never went very far but very much contributed all the same. the answer i'd give is that if they had been british it would've been a very different story they'd have no doubt been considered a huge contributor to what we now call "goth". but because they're just boring old americans it's only just here recent that they've started getting the recognition. and it's about frickin' time.
Whoa! Loved this from the first time I seen the RotLD preview- but somehow I came to think it was some AC/DC song, but always swore what I heard was a different version. Happened to be watching old horror trailers today, and realized I was wrong/right- blown away!! 🤘🏼
love it, so nostalgic back in the day hanging out with Kris Roe from the Ataris listening to Danzig, MOD, Suicidal Tendencies. man brings back memories!!!

I miss 80's Hollywood Oki dogs. Pan handling in front of POSERS all day to get an oki dog. Then going to SPOT Light tattoo for some ink. Who stayed at the WIG FACTORY?
Over 10 years ov loving this song and I still dont understand Dinah's idea ov a party. Is the abuse ov the young child hailed or is it from a twisted parents perspective?
Love this version
Me too.
@@FarmersAreDummies agreed 😊
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina did NOT bring me here. My years of impeccable taste in music & my Goth roots did.
💀🙌
The movie "Hard Bodies" B movie, skin flick movie from the 80's on local TV right now on this fine Saturday brought me here. How Goth is that!? 🙃
*Return of the living dead* brought me here
You’re not intelligent (Instagram patrol represent the algorithm and language) 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Braaaaains.
she signed my return of the living dead shirt!!!
nice!when that happend? (im really curious)
really?!! Awesome!
Holy s*&t. I never knew the lyrics were so dark. Never be able to think of this song the same way.
And to think Dinah went on to become a preschool teacher.........Muahhahhhahhahhahaaaaaaa
Fuck yes
I'm with you. got dark on me quick.
For real...im like...😮, but this is not the movie version
The band re-worked the lyrics when they recorded it for the Return of the Living Dead soundtrack; but yeah, the original version on the "Sleep In Safety" album is pretty bleak.
"Autopsy" is one INSANELY hard rocking album that kicks 96,46 % of what goes for "hardcore" out of the water. The riffage is RELENTLESS.
This is the original song by 45 Grave with the original lyrics about a 5 girl, Sabine who was abused and tortured by her family. The song on RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD was shortened and sped up and re-written with (zombie version) lyrics.
i have the vinyl
Yeah that's the soundtrack
They play the original in the movie itself
I love the faster version way better..it’s so more punk!
Zombie version is fine with me. What I grew up on
@@jamz87 I grew up on this version.
Brings back memories of seeing Return of the Living Dead at a midnight showing in some beaten up old picture house. Great song this is.
Both versions kick ass.

@@johndoeiii6103great comment, however that Consumers album came out in 1995 👍
Wow the original version is just as amazing as the remake grungy version from ROTLD. Excellent upload.
Being a slower tempo your able to understand the Song lyrics. Never how dark the song was. I like it! Was a great fit for ROTLD 85.
Born in '86 and I just love this genre of music!.. Hope that everyone is doing well and enjoying life even in these hard/crazy times. 🍻❤️
What did your mom look like?
‘86? I was already putting this album to bed at at that point.
@@LuckyBastardProd What's your point exactly?.

The guy with the dreads must be on some bomb ass 80’s blow…look at his jaw throughout the video lol
HOW AM I JUST NOW SEEING THIS? been singing this song since it came out. didn't know there was a video . sSOO GOODD!
Just learned about this band because a dude at the grocery store was wearing one of their shirts. Excellent taste random dude.
1.25 play speed = Perfect. Gotta admit, this wasn't easy to find amongst all the living dead videos affiliated with this awesome jam.
You can really hear the Punk Influence of 45 Grave
Los Angeles since a small child
Punk since 77!
A new found friend sent me here after a story I had told him and I'm not upset whatsoever lol!. Great video and song seriously!. 🤘🏼🍻
You rock.

The soundtrack has the zombie version
The movie itself has this version playing
I thought it was ACDC too the first time. Sounds SOOO much like Brian Johnson. Imagine my surprise when I found it was chic singing.
@@jamz87If you don't know Bon Scott, you don't know AC/DC, bud.
I finally hear these lyrics out loud. Dang.

I Love 45 Grave,Dinah
Dark as it gets
The late great 80's.
Can hardly wait to see your show in LA in sept.
Great song !!! Direct influence to Beastie Boys '(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)', and an influence to L7

Three Days Grace is 🗑 🚮
Welcome to the goth world. Check in all emo paraphernalia at the desk on your way in cause it’s darker here.
Great song for Halloween and video.💙💚💖
Pat Smear played in this band for a short period of time after the Germs broke up and before he joined Dave Grohl and Nirvana/Foo Fighters.
Well Don Bolles started the band so that makes sense
It’s party time do you wanna party? Are the chilling words the killers said to the victim
Such a happy song about a genuinely horrible event.
Tks! Tks! Tks!

LYRICS:
*WARNING* : YOU MIGHT RATHER NOT KNOW
Death came quick
for a girl
victim of
a homicide
cut and beaten
brutally raped
The five year old
she didn't escape
Her mom and friend
did her in

on her arms
from her mom
and her friend
he had a whip
to hit her again
Do you want to party?
It's partytime
We gotta party, it's partytime!
Oh, she never had a chance
She was only 5 years old
She never was unaware
She never had a chance
Her grandmother
was sent to jail
except Veronica
her older sister
She wasn't loved
for a dime
Wherever it is
it's partytime
Do you want to party?
It's partytime
We gotta party, it's partytime!
