I mean this little girl, this child was basically taken advantage of by an older man who tricked her into thinking she was special, he was different and what they had was unique. As she grows older she tries finding what she couldn't with Mannix. Something different and special. But every time she thinks she has found that, turns out they only wanted her for her body & to use. She grows up learning the lesson that love is nothing but lies and dies that way.
Her story skips "drama" and goes straight to "torture-porn horror". Years of abuse before dying at the hands of some Jason Voorhees reject who can't even swing an ax properly. Jigsaw couldn't devise a worse scenario.

I'm going to be honest, I have never heard this song before (except small bits in your livestreams recently), and the lyrics of this song have just left me horrified! The singing is incredible, however.
Well people didn't exactly have video games, TV, movies, board games, Ferris Wheels, amusement parks, museums, or a number of other things back then to occupy their time, and obviously they had music but more of the Mozart variety and not like pop songs and there were no earbuds then, so yeah that probably explains why they would live like this.

Thomas Seymour was behead a year after that for treason against his nephew.

I can, Aimee crushed the original. I LOVE this version to piecesdont get me wrong OMFG I'm so happy I suggested this early last year and she actually read it ASDFGHJKL, but one or two word changes were jarring. She must be using the American version's lyrics, as we say "mates", "pals" is too American for me, especially coming from an iconic British Queen. The line "His tempers short and his mates are sleazy" suffers a LOT in this Americanised version, "friends" is too nice of a word. Theres a subtle distinction the use of "mates" provides here in terms of British slang. Mates is: A) a more lower class vocabulary choice, its deliberately unbefitting of a Queen because its showing how lowly she thinks of these men (who were Lords and the like) B) gives less purity to the statement. "His friends are sleazy" sounds like Henry has genuine friends, like theres genuine affection between all the guys. Mates is a synonym for friends, that's true, but in the context of them mates being "sleazy", it implies it's a lot more seedy than plain friendship. It evocates what a lot of Brits (in my area at least) refer to as an "old boys club" or "old boy network", which is the term used to describe rich men who abuse their power and work together in clubs/societies to cover each others misdeeds (it's an odd phenomenon that I haven't really heard of elsewhere but its primarily used to describe clubs of young men in high status Universities (Oxford and Cambridge and Edinburgh to name a few)). Its heavily linked to academia and also to the higher class and as such by calling them his "mates", it's like shes implying they've got their own boys club. Like they all perv on her and she cang do a thing because their status is higher than hers and they all gather ranks to cover up any misdeeds. It's a subtle distinction but it does add a LOT to the line. I think changing it was an odd move. Surely Americans know what a 'mate' is, right? Aussies use it too, like it's not an uncommon word. If you're curious about this Boys Club culture in Universities, theres a film called "The Riot Club" which follows a fictional one of these societies and the awful ways they abuse their privellige. Its a good film, but make sure you're ready for it, it's not a nice uplifting one that's for sure. Sorry if that made zero sense lol 🥰💘

I can, Aimee crushed the original. I LOVE this version to piecesdont get me wrong OMFG I'm so happy I suggested this early last year and she actually read it ASDFGHJKL, but one or two word changes were jarring. She must be using the American version's lyrics, as we say "mates", "pals" is too American for me, especially coming from an iconic British Queen. The line "His tempers short and his mates are sleazy" suffers a LOT in this Americanised version, "friends" is too nice of a word. Theres a subtle distinction the use of "mates" provides here in terms of British slang. Mates is:
A) a more lower class vocabulary choice, its deliberately unbefitting of a Queen because its showing how lowly she thinks of these men (who were Lords and the like)
B) gives less purity to the statement. "His friends are sleazy" sounds like Henry has genuine friends, like theres genuine affection between all the guys. Mates is a synonym for friends, that's true, but in the context of them mates being "sleazy", it implies it's a lot more seedy than plain friendship. It evocates what a lot of Brits (in my area at least) refer to as an "old boys club" or "old boy network", which is the term used to describe rich men who abuse their power and work together in clubs/societies to cover each others misdeeds (it's an odd phenomenon that I haven't really heard of elsewhere but its primarily used to describe clubs of young men in high status Universities (Oxford and Cambridge and Edinburgh to name a few)). Its heavily linked to academia and also to the higher class and as such by calling them his "mates", it's like shes implying they've got their own boys club. Like they all perv on her and she cang do a thing because their status is higher than hers and they all gather ranks to cover up any misdeeds. It's a subtle distinction but it does add a LOT to the line. I think changing it was an odd move. Surely Americans know what a 'mate' is, right? Aussies use it too, like it's not an uncommon word. If you're curious about this Boys Club culture in Universities, theres a film called "The Riot Club" which follows a fictional one of these societies and the awful ways they abuse their privellige. Its a good film, but make sure you're ready for it, it's not a nice uplifting one that's for sure.
